I received a free copy of this book however all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.
I really enjoyed reading this – it’s such an unusual concept for a plot line and not one I’d read before, and I read a LOT of books! I also loved how little things kept being introduced into the story until it got to the point where they had so many threats they didn’t know which one they came from.,I can’t recommend this highly enough. In usual Emelia style, it is superbly written and the temperature between the characters is off the charts!
My review is given completely voluntarily. I did receive an ARC by author through booksprout.
The Wrong Groom by Emelia Blair.
I gave this book 5 stars. This book is my favorite one from this author so far. It’s her best work in my opinion. She wrote a whopping story of mystery /suspense second chance at love romance in a short book. Great Job Emelia, the only thing I can think of is maybe an epilogue just to let us know how things are going 6-12 months later
Charlotte and Philip grew up together, because Philip’s sisters is her best friend. Charlotte has overcome so much trauma and disappointment in her life to get to where she is right now, an owner of a bakery and about to get married…. but her fiance is not the man who she thought he was, he is slimeball!!!
Philip in order to deserve being with her, he had a lot of growing up to do, to become the rich, hot man he is now, he had no choice but to brake Charlotte heart all those years ago. Now he back, and at the wedding of the only woman he ever truly loved, who is about to marry another man – this is the last place he wants to be at this moment. The only reason he came was because of his little sister who is a pain in his ass, and made him come!
This book has lots of love, romance, great friends, I love the secondary characters, there is distrust, mafia, lieing and scheming, lots of action, some steamy sex, but in a serious note the most important subject that Emelia wrote about was of immense fiscal abuse, and how the human being is affected and deals with it. How love heals a broken body, and heart!
There is a HEA 🙂
I can’t wait to see the other friends tumble into love themselves!
This a wellwritten and fastpaced story that captivated me from the start. The storyline is entertaining and actionpacked. The characters are wonderful. Can not wait for the next book in this series.

He made a mistake in college regrettably. His second chance to fix it is by marrying jilted bride.
Philip didn’t feel he was worthy of Charlotte so he broke her heart. She loses any trust she felt for him and it sets her life in changing her outlook in men from then on.Charlotte is Agatha’s best friend, Philip’s younger sister since they grew up together. Those two hung around the guys that grew up together with Philip. That’s Fergus, Zayn and Ian. All a close knit family. But Charlotte dropped out of sight and disappeared and no one knew where she was. She was living a hard life. One that broke her but also made her strong and had a gang watching over her at the bakery she worked at. She has her own business now. One that Agatha goes to buy her favorite treats. The guys have had a sampling of those treats but no idea their from Charlotte’s bakery. After years of having lost track of Charlotte, the next thing Philip hears from Agatha is that he is her plus one to Charlotte’s wedding. He’s not happy about it but finds something odd happening at the wedding. He finds an opening and steps in by marrying the girl he fell in love with.Their story is filled with a challenge, danger, mystery, a growing love, hot relationship and humorous bickering between all the guys. You need to read this book for all the qualities that Emelia Blair wrote so well. This second chance romance brings characters into it that you can’t help but fall in love with them all.
Recommend this book, you won’t regret it.
Sweet and sexy
The Wrong Groom by Emelia Blair is a sweet read with some steam. Charlotte is a real sweetheart while Phillip is a true alpha protector.
I found the plot interesting and engaging in ways that brought these characters to life.
I also love a good HEA and this book sends this couple off to a really good start.
A Review of The Wrong Groom by Emelia Blair
Philip and Charlotte – 4 Stars
O.M.G. — this storyline is one that will hook you as soon as you read that first page and keeps you on the edge of your seat through all the twists and turns that the author takes them through. Absolutely worth taking the time to read and enjoy.

Philip arrives late to the wedding but in just enough time to save Charlotte. Charlotte is supposed to marry Erik however when he leaves her at the altar Philip steps in and takes his place. No one is more surprised at that than Charlotte. Philip knows that Charlotte is the one for him. Charlotte is afraid to believe anything Philip says because of how he treated her before. However when someone attacks her its Philip she turns to. Can Philip keep her safe from whomever is behind the threat to her? Will she give Philip another chance?
This is a great story once I started I couldn’t put it down. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this story to any book lover.

Charlotte is left at the altar. Her best friend Agatha’s brother Philip step in and marries her. Charlotte wants an annulment, but for some reason he doesn’t understand Philip doesn’t. Someone tries to kill Charlotte and that make Philip realize he loves her. Can he get her to admit she love him? Can he find out who’s trying to kill and keep her safe? I really loved book and the characters drew me in.
Charlotte has just experienced the worst day of her life at the hands of her fiancé who stated he would not marry her but gave some terrible information about her as to why he wouldn’t. She was devastated and Philip being livid stepped up to the plate by asking her to marry him instead. Charlotte ahs always had drama shrouding her and she rose to the occasion. But someone was out there not only to embarrass her but to cause bodily harm. Can Philip find the culprits in time before they do exactly what they have set out to do?

I loved it. Nice romance.
Philip and Charlotte haven’t seen each other in ten years. But that doesn’t mean they don’t know anything about each other. Philip’s sister Agatha tells them about each other. She’s the one who convinces Philip to go to Charlotte’s wedding. And when she is betrayed, he comes to her rescue. They haven’t seen each other in years, but their feelings haven’t changed.
I loved Philip. Ten years ago, he couldn’t get near her. Hewasn’t good for her, it was what he believed. He pushed her away, but was unable to forget her. And when he sees her again, he realizes how much he missed her. He helped her because he didn’t want her to be humiliated. And as they spent time together, got to know each other again, he fell in love with her.
I loved Charlotte. Philip broke her heart. And, when she had to flee, she had a hard time trusting people again. When her fiance betrayed her, he was there to help her. They had the same relationship, confidence and intimacy to talk about everything that they had ten year’s ago. She fell in love, just as he told her it would happen.
Philip is arrogant, drives her crazy, and adores her. He has changed. He is a better man than he was before. And Charlotte is stubborn, refusing to accept help, not just from him. She has to do things for herself, to know she can. She suffered a lot, but she’s strong.
I loved their romance. They go slowly, they have lived a lot in a short time. You can see the love they have for each other.
I loved Agatha, Fergus, Ian and Zayn, and I would like to see them in another story.
I recommend it.
I received an ARC from the author, and this is my honest review.
Loved this book. Not your typical “wrong groom” storyline. Wonderful characters who were vivid and vibrant. Phillip and Charlotte are the couple who we all want to be with someone! Excellent read! I hope there is a series with the other interesting characters explored.

I truly enjoyed this story so much! I Phillip and Charlotte are my new favorite couple. I would have loved a few intimate scenes with them where Phillip explores her tolerance of pain but it had enough to enjoy. I loved how they progressed and how Phillip owned up to his feelings and his inner alpha came out and took control. I love the alpha men who know when they want a woman and don’t take no for an answer. I truly hope that there is a story coming for Agatha, Ian, and the rest of the group. I loved their banter and the little signs from them that Charlotte took notice of.

What a beautiful story! The author did not disappoint. The story was well written, full of drama and will keep you on the edge. The characters synced and made the story so believable that you forget that you are actually reading.
