I’m an all-or-nothing man—100 percent focused on whatever has my attention.First it was serving my country in the Special Forces. Then it was building my business. Right now it’s the hot blonde at the bar who’s about to become another notch on my bedpost. But women never keep my attention for more than a night.Until I peel off Skylar Anderson’s clothes and her mask starts to crumble, showing me … to crumble, showing me glimpses of the girl she’s hiding. She’s funny, sexy and vulnerable and throws me out of bed before I can catch my breath and suggest breakfast.
When I start my last undercover job on a yacht, turns out, she’s one of the crew. I try, but I can’t look away.
Her high ponytail shows off her kissable neck that tastes like summer.
Her short uniform reveals the killer legs that were wrapped around me last night.
And her provocative smile? I know what that mouth is capable of.
I want to explore her body, discover her secrets and sail off into the sunset with her.
I might want to go all in for Skylar, but she should stay away from me. I’ve got secrets of my own and they can only bring her trouble.
A stand-alone novel.

Another solid read from one of my favourite authors.
“I barely knew this woman and already I wanted to understand her better – know her. Body and mind.”
Landon Wolf is on a break before he starts his new job. However, when an old associate approaches him about an undercover job aboard a yacht, he finds himself unable to decline it. When he finds himself face to face with the hot blonde from the night before on board, his job may not be as easy as he first thought.
“A man like Landon was dangerous. A man who still had me thinking about him? Who looked at me like he had? He was way too much of a risk.”
Skylar Anderson has always had one goal in mind – keep working and making bank so she never has to rely on anyone else ever again. She’s good at her job, which means that relationships are limited and that suits her fine. She’s not interested in committing herself to anyone. When she finds herself at close quarters with her unforgettable one-night stand, she finds herself re-thinking things as her feelings start evolving into something more.
“Let me take your nightmares. Have only sweet dreams.”
This book was gorgeous and so sexy! Landon and Skylar had amazing chemistry! I also loved the tenderness and trust that built between them. They were actually very similar characters. They were two people who didn’t trust easily and were both very guarded, yet they recognised something in the other that had them opening up to each other. They were also both quite protective and caring people. I enjoyed the touch of danger element in the story – at one point, I thought that side might have developed into more, but nonetheless, it didn’t detract from the overarching love story. Fab read!
Louise Bay is such a good writer and author.
We return to the world of yachting and glamour but at the same time she writes about a boy meeting a girl in the worst circumstances since he cannot be fully himself.
Skylar has suffered a lot and is used to rely only on herself and her instincts. She does not date and works to put food on her mouth and is only thinking on the next stewardess contract. Landon is a military man that succeed in his security business and now is doing a surveillance job for his friend in order to try to do something good and arrest an arm dealer.
Landon is closed and Skylar is slowly growing on him. She is tough but begins to trust him.
The book in the end is about love and trust and how it is difficult to combine.
This is really a great book with such interesting characters.
I just loved it!
Such a beautiful story. Both Landon and Skyler aren’t looking for love. Skyler likes to tell everyone that she is looking for a rich husband. But that’s not really the case. She’s just trying to protect herself and her heart from getting hurt. Landon is an ex army guy. Who recently sold him private security company. One of his military buddies asks him to help him out in an undercover job. They end up being on the new crew together for a yacht. From there their story really starts.
There were times that I wanted to strangle Skyler but in all she was a strong, independent character. I loved seeing a bit of Hayden and Avery from the pervious book also.
With the job Landon as to do and the past Skyler is trying running from, can these two get over everything can find happiness? You’ll have to read to find out.
Louise Bay definitely as another hit on her hands with this one.
This book ticked all my romance boxes I just love it when a book delivers. Landon was that perfect mix of broody sexy alpha with a huge possessive side. Skylar is the epitome of independent woman, I’ll admit it took me awhile to take to her but I grew to really like her. The story was well written with engaging characters and easily merged the romance with mystery and danger.

Landon and Skylar are two people who are as different as they are similar. Both of them are closed off, albeit for different reasons. Landon is used to the solitude his career has brought him, and with the private nature of his job, he’s been happy to have women for one night only.
Skylar is determined not to repeat the history of her tragic past, her job as the High Steward aboard private yachts enabling her to provide plenty of money to support herself so she never NEEDS a man.
When a chance meeting draws them to each other, they both agree it’s just one night. But as luck would have it, when they end up on the same Yacht for the summer, the lines become blurred and they both question if they could actually become more than just a fling.
Is Landon really who he says he is? Can Skylar really be capable of a relationship with him? Or will he end up being ‘The Wrong Gentleman’ for her?
Skylar isn’t your typical heroine, she’s a mix of strength and vulnerability, an intense need for independence that is slowly chipped away at by the dominance and protectiveness Landon shows her. Landon is a complex character, who’s lead an extremely private life due to his career choices, and isn’t prepared for the feelings that Skylar evokes in him. What the two experience with each other is like nothing they’ve ever felt before, and just when they think they have it all figured out, they are thrown through a loop.
Another great story that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. Louise always provides an extra insight into her characters lives that enables you to relate to them and connect with them on an emotional level. I didn’t know how this story would play out and that gave it a sense of intrigue, making it all the more interesting, especially reading about the yachting industry from the staffing side of things rather than the rich guests!
Louise has always been an instant 1-click author for me and this story did not disappoint!

You can never go wrong when you pick up a Louise Bay book. The Wrong Gentleman was sexy, delightful and an overall great read! Landon and Skylar have one night together that as sexy and steamy. They never intended to see each other again. Imagine their surprise when they both find themselves on a yacht with their own demons and secrets.
I loved Landon. He was ex-military, strong and sexy. Skylar carried her own burdens and kept herself guarded. They had great chemistry, even as they struggled with what they felt for each other. And I loved how protective Landan could be. Should they give in to what they feel and want? Even as choices and suspense cause a push and pull between them.
The Wrong Gentleman by Louise Bay was intriguing, steamy and full of the feels. I loved Landon and Skylar, but what consequences will the choices he makes have on those around him? Another greet read from this author!

Happy reading!
Wrong never looked so good!
All my favorite things wrapped up in one delicious book! Intrigue, sexiness, engaging characters, glamorous locations!
Landon and Skylar jump into what they think is a one-night stand, but the next day they find out they’re working on the same yacht for three months! Except one of them isn’t who they say they are, and their foundation of trust crumbles. This book captivated me, I loved it!

Let me start by saying I love the characters, the plot and the outline of the story was very much a winner in my book. But I don’t know what happened. Whether it was my frame of mind or not but this book just fell a little flat for me. Now Louise Bay is one of my favourite instant one click authors and I hate that I have this opinion.
The characters are great and I loved Landon he had all his brothers charm but with a burly army way about him. His need to protected was what drew me to him. He was everything a Hero in a book should be. Skylar was a really strong female character one that I will remember for a while to come. Her life before yachting was a life that no one would chose to lead. Her upbringing heartbreaking, a tragic and doomed tale that stole and cemented her view of men. But she was strong and took nothing for granted ever. She steered clear of men, making unrealistic demand and a list that no man would be able to meet. That was until Landon.
Now from that you would guess I loved this book but there were things that changed that for me. The constant talk of money and finding a millionaire for her. The talks between Skylar and August just grated in the end and spoiled it a little for me. I was also disappointed in regards to how things just faded into the background in regards to the reason that Landon was on the Sapphire in the first place. I wanted more from that aspect of the story, seeing as it was such a huge part throughout the book.
All in all this book was an ok read. I didn’t hate it, I just wasn’t in love with huge parts of it. The love story side was on point and I enjoyed that loads. Maybe someone else will love it and that’s the beauty of reading. We all love different things.
I do however recommend this book. As amongst it all there was a love story that saved this book for me.
Where do I start?! I loved Landon and Skylar! Their chemistry is off the charts and I loved the progression of them.
I loved the fact that Skylar worked so hard to take care of herself, not needing a man to do it for her. And Landon. Wow I just loved this man. He was sweet and strong and went for what he wanted.
This book was low angst but still kept me turning the pages and I was sad when it was over.
I did enjoy reading this well written story. As always Louise Bay writes great, flowing prose, which makes for a good read.
The characters are very likeable. Landon with his strong, driven personality. Who takes any task he is doing very seriously, nothing makes him waver from his course. I really liked him, I liked his kindness and loyalty. Skylar is chef stewardess on a private yacht and she does her job to the absolute best of her ability. I loved the way she used her job to give her the stability that she craves. She doesn’t get involved on a personal level, she is protecting herself from being hurt, I get why but at times I wanted to shout at her…just a little.
This was a good read, even if a little predictable at times but I still kept me reading till the end. So if you are looking for a good, engaging read, something to keep you interested but without too much angst or heartache; then this one would be a good choice.
First of all, I have to say that every time i read about Landon, I would get butterflies in my stomach! I mean this guy oozes ALPHA! He is 100% hot blooded man! So yes he has become my favorite hero for February so far!
Now talking about Skylar, she was like a bucket of cold water at first. I thought I was never going to be able to connect to her. I did not have her same ideas of an ideal life when it was all about the money. But her walls start to come down and you find the real Skylar. She is the one you love!
The Wrong Gentleman starts off sexy and will end sexy. The quirkiness these characters have will have you smiling ear to ear. I seriously adores this story and will have this book in my thoughts for days to come!

Pack your bags, dear readers, because Louise Bay will take you on a summer Mediterranean cruise. Along the way, you will meet Skylar and Landon, a couple whose voyage to love will come with its share of turbulent waves.
An ex-Army man who just sold his private security firm. Landon can afford to sail off into the sunset, but instead he agrees to go undercover as a deckhand on a yachting trip. For Skylar, this trip presents an opportunity to earn money and secure a long-term contract. Before they can meet on the yacht, though, they spend a night together, neither realizing that they are about to share close quarters, all while Landon attempts to get intel on the client.
Landon is hot, Skylar is hot, and these two are hot together. I loved the scenes in which they got to know each other and connected more than just physically, although the sexy times are LUCIOUS. Landon is the kind of Hot Hero you won’t forget, and you will cheer for Skylar to find her happiness.
The subplot involving the guy Landon is spying on is a bit of a disappointment because it sort of goes nowhere. You keep thinking something big will happen, but when it does, it’s off-stage, so to speak. It serves as a device to bring Landon and Skylar together, and Louise Bay keeps her focus squarely on them.
Let Landon rock your boat. You’ll enjoy every minute of it.
(Okay, all bad boat puns are hereby concluded.)
His two months of freedom lost to a superyacht to monitor, observe and log actions of the target from the position of an undercover crew member.
A job for the greater good of man kind. That’s how he was sold.
She wants a wealthy man, or so she says. In reality she’s happy single and not looking for love.
Her job is her love, she’s the best stewardess going and the yachting season is just commencing.
But… in each other’s company for the first time and they know a kiss is on the cards and not just any kiss but the best kiss of their lives!
Louise Bay has a way with words that leave you swooning and this book is no exception.
Landon is the guy you dream of. He’s protective, generous, thoughtful and considerate a real gentleman.
Skylar is sweet and quite vulnerable but she hides both behind a wall of calm and confidence.
I couldn’t read this book quick enough! Real life whats that? I was engrossed, enthralled and completely captivated by Landon and Skylar.
Two very strong independant individuals, who didn’t know what they needed to be complete until fate gave them that little push.
The storyline had me hooked as it was unusual but that added to the overall charm of the book.
A magnificent read that is full of secrets, lies and self doubt hidden beneath layers of romance and open seas.
The Wrong Gentleman by Louise Bay is the story of Skylar Anderson and Landon Wolf.
Landon is ex military who is now working on building his business and has not time for a committed relationship…nor does he want one. Skylar is working to stay focused on her career and not looking back to her terrible past life. Not trusting of most men due to her past, she doesn’t focus on relationships. When she gives in to a one night stand then walks away she has no ideal that he will pop up again in her life. But Landon has taken an undercover job on the yacht that Skylar works on…now let the games begin. Really enjoyed their story…love Ms. Bay’s writing.
I really enjoyed this entertaining read. It offers a complex, well written storyline grabbed and held my interest easily. The characters were layered, well developed and shared chemistry that was hot and tangible. The plot has drama, mystery, intensity, action, passion and plenty of heat. I liked both Landon and Skylar. I thought Landon was charming and a real renaissance man. I truly felt for Skyler. She was smart and strong but very wounded. A really good romance.
Luxury yacht….check. Hot, British hero….check. Gahhh! Landon Wolf! The Wrong Gentleman was a fun, sexy, read with a bit of suspense and enough heat to burn up the pages. Louise Bay has given us another swoon worthy hero! I loved his protective side. Her trouble past had caused Sklyar to build her walls, not wanting to let anyone in for the long haul. But Landon was the perfect man to break down those walls brick by brick. Another delightfully yummy read by Louise Bay.
This book ticked all my boxes, swoon worthy hero, strong heroine and a story that will pulled on all my emotions, all in all a brilliant read.
Landon Wolf has just sold his extremely lucrative security business and is looking forward to some much needed time off and some relaxation, well all that went out the window when he received a call from a friend asking him to provide surveillance on a guest on a luxury yacht. Well I guess becoming a deck hand for a few months could have some advantages namely the gorgeous blonde head steward but Landon never mixes business with pleasure……..
Skylar Anderson has built a career working on yacht charters and this one is meant to be taking her closer to her goal but will her feelings for Landon get in the way will Skylar break her golden rule of never mixing business with pleasure…
Two people both working by the same rules, both needing financial comfort and independence meet in the dream setting of the South of France can they both play by the rules they have set themselves or will love and lust see them breaking all the rules……
The chemistry is sizzling and Landon is the perfect swoon worthy hero with the perfect British accent and he managed to turn me into one hot mess. It took me some time to warm up to Skylar but once I did I was rooting for a HEA for this adorable couple. A romance that has a few twists and turns along the way mixed with just the right amount of intrigue made this a brilliant read.
I LOVED Skylar and Landon’s book!! A one night stand that could possibly turn into more?? Yes, please! But Landon has a pretty big secret. And Skylar doesn’t tolerate liars. The Wrong Gentleman was HOT…and full of drams and angst. My belly was in knots while I read this and I was truly unable to stop reading until I read the last page. Amazing book!!
5 star Review The Wrong Gentleman by Louise Bay
Louise Bay you have done it again. I fell for both Landon and Skylar , there was just something about this couple that drew me to them and their story; not to mention the secondary characters have me intrigued.
The story was well written, engaging and it was great to see the growth of both the main characters as the book evolved. There is just so much to love about Ms. Bay’s stories, the characters, the depth and layers that she weaves keep me riveted from the first to the last page.
I loved how protective, hot and alpha Landon was and Skylar’s focus and determination to be independent was an admirable trait. Such is the skill and depth of Louise Bay’s writing she transported me in my mind so that I felt I too was on the yacht cruising the Mediterranean.
The chemistry between Landon and Skylar is off the charts and I loved how strong their bond was once it formed. It was also fabulous to catch up and see what is happening with Hayden and Avery.
It’s been a while for me since my last Louise Bay book and I’m so glad I got to chance to read this story because it reminded me how much I enjoy reading her books.
This was a fun, quick, hot and steamy story filled with just enough drama to keep you at the edge of the seat egger to see how the story would unfold. I liked Landon and his humble personality. To be honest at first I didn’t like Skyler with her list what a dream man is for her. But as their relationship started to develop I got to see that there was so much more to her than what she shown to the world. She was damaged and broken but hid it well. It was so sweet to see her laying down her high walls for Landon. I did love that he tried to protect her and it broke my heart with the way he did it. But when he decided to fight for her and begged her to give them a chance? Pure magic…
“You’re perfect,” I whispered. She shook her head. ”No one is.””Then you’re perfect for me,” I replied. *swoon*
