Have you ever been wrong about someone?
Juno was wrong about Winnie Crouch.
Before moving in with the Crouch family, Juno thought Winnie and her husband, Nigel, had the perfect marriage, the perfect son—the perfect life. Only now that she’s living in their beautiful house, she sees the cracks in the crumbling facade are too deep to ignore.
Still, she isn’t one to judge. After her grim diagnosis, the retired therapist simply wants a place to live out the rest of her days in peace. But that peace is shattered the day Juno overhears a chilling conversation between Winnie and Nigel…
She shouldn’t get involved.
She really shouldn’t.
But this could be her chance to make a few things right.
Because if you thought Juno didn’t have a secret of her own, then you were wrong about her, too.
From the wickedly dark mind of bestselling author Tarryn Fisher, The Wrong Family is a taut new thriller that’s riddled with twists in all the right places.

What a wild ride!
I highly recommend you don’t read much about this story before diving in. There are so many twists and turns that I wanted to see what happened next. While 3rd person is not my favorite tense, I was hooked on the plot and the characters which kept me reading.
If you love messed up psychological thrillers, don’t skip this one!
Grateful to have received a complimentary ARC copy to honestly review.
From the moment I started reading I knew I was in for a mystifying storyline. Although the build up started out a little slow, I couldn’t help but keep reading to find out what would happen next. I was enthralled. The thought provoking plot line, the character development and the subsequent delving into each of the characters thought processes and ultimately what they eventually led to held me spellbound. Family dynamics, motherhood, obsessive compulsive behavior, mental health issues and how families deal, neglect or deny when family members exhibit struggles with situations, economic differences, homelessness and the need for control are all deeply relevant issues that are all expertly woven and purposefully exposed. A riveting mind bending and consuming story. It’s been days since I finished and I’m still replaying it in my head.

Another beautifully constructed thriller from Tarryn Fisher.
This review will be pretty bare bones, because I don’t want to spoil anything for potential readers and sharing even the smallest details could do that. This story revolves around Juno, a retired psychologist who is terminally ill and living with Nigel and Winnie and their son, Samuel. When Juno becomes suspicious about things relating to Samuel, she sets out to uncover some of this family’s secrets. And things just get more and more warped from there.
The story is told from two POVs — Winnie and Juno. I’m a fan of multiple POVs because I think it gives more perspective and adds some depth to the story. Needless to say, I liked that aspect of the book. These two women are quite interesting. I’m not sure I really liked either of them, to be completely honest. That’s okay though because I’m also not sure that Fisher meant for readers to like either of them.
The character I connected the most with was Samuel. He’s stuck in the midst of all this chaos, purely by circumstance because the chaos swirls around his family.
Man oh man is this story twisted. But that’s why we love a Fisher novel, right? This one messed with my mind quite a bit. I had literary whiplash when I was done because I kept getting pulled in every direction and there were twists and turns all over the freaking place. And the end … holy crap. I wasn’t expecting it and the rug got pulled out from under me.
I love a story that keeps me on the edge of my seat and The Wrong Family fits that bill. It’s original, written in such a way that I felt like I was immersed in the story, and it packs a punch when it comes to the suspense aspect. I’m glad that I got my hands on a copy of this because it made my end-of-the-year reading that much more awesome. And it’s clear that Fisher has a background in psychology because she always peels back the layers of her characters psyches, and exposes the flaws and all that linger beneath the surface. I love that and I know that when I pick up one of her books, I’m going to get something mind-bending.
Four stars to this novel!
I went in blind to this book, I had the chance to grab this early and jumped on it. My first read by Tarryn Fisher and it was trippy. I love a good psychological read, especially when I don’t see it coming. This book had all the secret and then some. Well written and unexpected. I loved it!
What a read!
Delusional, dysfunctional and down right intriguing. Two women so much in common, both have made mistakes, the same but oh so different.
I’m in awe of this authors writing and how she told this edge of seat read. I’m in love, in shock and in a spell. There is no way I can possibly write a review that would do this amazing nail biting read justice. My head is buzzing, my mind running and my heart is about to beat out of my chest. You’ve gotta read this, I highly recommend it.

What an adrenaline rush!
This suspenseful and thrilling story had me wondering what’s what until the end!
The Wrong Family is a compelling psychological thriller grasping at many issues that added to the complexity of the story! Well paced, with interesting and unique characters, I couldn’t believe what the story unfolding before me did!
This was a chilling and twisted story of family secrets, a complicated dysfunctional marriage and a pesky critter living in the crawl space.
Holy smokes things are not what they appear in this story. What hides behind the closed doors of those beautiful mansions in the proper side of town? Those perceptions take a life of its own making this read not only highly entertaining but heartbreaking.
When good intentions have the opposite outcome and what happens as a result is closely and interestingly explored.
There were elements of the story that were not very believable but hey it’s fiction and it made for a thrilling and scary story!
4.5 stars!
This is a fantastic thriller that makes me want to read much more of this genre cause I loved the goosebumps and what could be lurking in your house vibe. Juno is a retiree therapist who decides the Crouch’s have more then any family could need so she decides to take something’s for herself, yeah not weird at all lol, but when she gets wind of a secret that’s not hers everything changes!
I don’t read thrillers often but Tarryn Fisher is most definitely a one click author for me so I had to read this book. She delivers an epic read that’ll have you on the edge of your seat. The Wrong Family is the right book to read!
This book was so good! With every page you never know what secrets will come out and what is really the truth. It’s Winnie and Nigels life and Juno is just trying to decode it. We must remember that we don’t always have the full story and consequences can be dire.
This book is a must read in my opinion and going in blind is the only way. So jump in and enjoy the thrill ride this author will take you on!
This book will have you on the edge of your seat until the very end. Juno is a woman who is keeping an eye on a family. Winnie is married to Nigel and they was so in love until something happened. Can they get it back or is it too late? Juno is trying to help but does she know the whole story?
In usual Tarryn Fisher style this one kept me guessing from beginning to end. In the first half of the story I often felt confused and struggled to stay invested but the second half was complete with twists and turns I could have never been prepared for. Tarryn is an incredible author. Her thrillers are like nothing you will ever read and for that alone I recommend reading this book. The book is told in two points of view. Winnie and Juno. From the outside Winnie appears to be living the perfect life with her husband and son but as the story unfolds we learn that their life is anything but perfection. Juno is a complicated woman. She has come to live with the Crouch’s and overhears something she just can’t unhear and how the story unfolded from this point on was one twist after the next. The writing is gripping, thrilling and will keep you on the edge of your seat. This book is best read if you go in blind with no spoilers.
I’m not a fan of 3rd person POV, it’s a personal preference and something I struggle with reading. So when I first started this book my first thought was to not even bother. But it’s Tarryn Fisher, and even a writing style that I don’t usually enjoy wasn’t going to stop me from reading it. And while I admit I did struggle a bit at the beginning, I am so happy I pushed through.
As usual, she has delivered an amazingly twisted story. One of my favorite things about Fisher’s writing is you can never figure out where the story is going until the very end, and sometimes not even then. The Wrong Family is no exception. Every breadcrumb she scattered throughout the book led to nowhere and Juno, Winnie & Nigel took me on a crazy ride that I couldn’t get off even if I wanted to.
This book is the perfect example of not judging a book by its cover – or in my case, writing style. For anyone who finds themselves unsure if they should continue in the first few chapters keep pushing through. It will definitely surprise and amaze you.
A fast paced well written story that will have you hooked. The author takes you on a journey of obsession, lies, and the love of a Mother. All of these elements are blended to make a thrilling story.
What did I just read?? Famous words after delving into a Tarryn Fisher book. Known for her mind twisting stories, Fisher has once again tantalized a story plot that left me with questions even when I received all of the information. Confusing?? Nah…..not really. It is just hard laying out one of Tarryn Fisher’s novels without spoiling any of the nuances that the author is ‘known’ for creating.
Between the covers of The Wrong Family – readers will be introduced to Juno and Winnie. Two characters that lead lives that are as completely opposite as night and day. Winnie seems to have the perfect life with her husband Nigel and their son. In a typical family dynamic, there is more than meets the eye behind the doors of the Crouch home. A fact that Juno will contemplate heavily after spending time with the Crouch family.
With secrets surrounding the Crouch family that weigh heavily on Juno’s mind, a series of events will take place that no one could predict. A series of twists and turns that will set a precedent of epic proportions. What takes place behind the doors of the Crouch home will lead you on a journey of secrets and revelations that only Tarryn Fisher could write. A thriller so entwined in secrets, you will have questions even once you have the answers.
Get ready for the ride……The Wrong Family has just the right touch of mayhem and madness that will keep you glued until the very last page.
Tarryn Fisher writes a captivating domestic thriller. The book is written in two point of views; Winnie and Juno. When Juno meets the Crouch Family, she thinks that they are perfect and are the perfect home for her to live. While living there she overhears Nigel and Winnie having an alarming conversation. Juno sets on a mission to make things right but is it? This story was fast paced and kept me guessing throughout as to what was going to happen. It also demonstrates that all families have their secrets. Thank you Edelweiss for an advanced copy! All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Tarryn Fisher is a MASTER! Elizabeth @ Carolina Chic’s Read
The Wrong Family is a can’t put down read and my most anticipated book this year. You will be drawn in an captivated with every word. There are several jaw dropping moments. Tarryn is very creative and has a unique writing style that will keep you drawn into her words! Four words to say about this book… YOU MUST READ IT!
5 WOW STARS
It’s a crazy, unbelievable ride into the “Other Side” of reality. Tarryn creates a smokescreen and hides some really messed up characters behind it. Readers get to fumble around in the dark caverns of psyche till truth is revealed and the stunned silence that follows is the best compliment to give to an author who appears to be equally messed up as the book she wrote
Engrossing and mhypnitic, the story will make your head spin, you’ll be left wondering “what did I just read”
Loved it, tho it was a bit expanded and slow in pace, nevertheless her writing skills are incomparable and diligently thought provoking.
4 stars for Upside Down
The Wrong Family by Tarryn Fisher is a domestic thriller with surprising twists and turns. It is best read without reading any spoilers and just experience the journey. Winnie Crouch is living the perfect life with her husband and son, right? But things are not always what they seem. When Juno comes to lives with them, she overhears something that changes everything. Secrets and lies surround everyone. How will it all end? Be ready for a journey that is full of intrigue, surprises and unexpected events!

Happy reading!
I really enjoyed this book! It was quite the roller coaster ride! As with some previous book by this author it kept me on my toes guessing what was really going on! This would of easily been a 5 star read for me but it took me a bit to find my flow reading this one. That is only because it is written in third person. It is harder for me to connect with stories told in this perspective for some reason. However once I found my flow I could not put it down! I will be thinking about this one for days to come! I would definitely recommend this book!
Received a arc for a honest opinion.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review.
