He goes to Alicia to find out what had happened while he was away and is shocked when Alicia tells him to go away. He can’t just leave things alone and visits her at her cabin and discovers the true reasons for his mother’s actions. This is a good book about second chances. I received a copy of this story and this is my honest review.

In this story, two nineteen year olds, Cage and Alicia, who have been friends and then more for years, have a night together, but Cage knew he was leaving the next day and didn’t say goodbye. He returns to Storm Haven after his mother’s death to find she has left nothing to him, not even her house. He is angry and can’t figure out why she gave it all to his ex-girlfriend, but when he ends up at her small cabin outside of town, he finds she was left with a part of him, in a son called Orlando who is now four. He gets to go to a shifter preschool, with other children like him and with staff that know how to deal with the various shifters. Cage made a mistake in leaving with his criminal father, when he had been released from prison, but he thought his father could teach him about being a shifter, but all he wanted was a son to follow in his criminal footsteps! But even after leaving that bad situation, he still didn’t return home until far too late to make it up with his estranged mother. They have a little someone that connects them and he needs to learn how to step up to the plate and accept his new responsibilities.
A somewhat steamy bear shifter story, with strangers helping to rescue another and one with previous lovers reconnecting with a load of shocking truths having to be revealed to heal the damage done years before. Some of the characters have been damaged by events in the past and are slowing working their way around healing from the pain and mostly opting to live alone to recover. Bear shifters finding the human woman they want to be with for the rest of their lives. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
Cage and Alicia were in love when they were younger and after one incredible night together Cage leaves her behind without telling her. Alicia was heartbroken and soon after discovers she’s pregnant. Now five years later Cage is back after his mother’s death and finds out his mother left everything to Alicia. He wants to know the reason behind what his mother did and goes searching for Alicia and soon discovers he has a son. I loved Cage and Alicia’s story and definitely recommend.
Cage and Alicia were together in school, but right after they made love, he left with his father and did not return for five years. Alicia became a single mom, with help from his mom, and Orlando will be a bear shifter like his dad some day. Cage returns after his mother passes to find out so many things have happened back home and he gets overwhelmed. Suspense hits from all angles as they try to figure out where to go from there. During a blizzard, they are together for an extended period where they talk and he interacts with Orlando and Alicia the way he always wanted to. The romance returns and the feelings are intense. The backstories from the past five years adds depth and understanding to the situations. The ending is so great and brings it all together. Fated mates belong together.

Cage is back after his mother dies. He left after one night with Alicia which produced a baby, Orlando. Now that Cage is back he wonders why his mother left everything to Alicia. This book is full of action, suspense, mystery, betrayal, and plenty of love. I thought the story line was great and the characters fantastic. Finding out that you baby is a shifter would be odd to say the least. Everything that transpired was written beautifully. Loved this book. I will go back and reall them over again in order. Great book and very enjoyable.

Something I have been craving! It made me feel so good and brought a smile to my soul! This is one of those stories that you just do not want to leave because it makes you fell so warm and fuzzy! Cage and Alicia were pretty close and what transpired left a gift that any mother would love. This is a redeeming story of love that will not die and an amazing shifter story that will be on my to reread shelf. I love that this story made me smile and it is perfect for the holidays. It does have some situations that you dread reading about but it touches on emotions that really grab your heart. Good job Sophie and thank you.

I do love the end, “… but the best thing about love is that it always, always wins.” Words to live by. Rocks in the road but they can be navigated to go around. A great story. I received a complimentary review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This is a cute story! A reunion of lost loves, a secret kid and so many unpacked emotions that it keeps you in your feelings. The hero is kind of one dimensional, a little bit of a tool. The heroine feels guilt for not looking for him, but dude took off. I think the rebound romance was cute, but the H had few redeeming qualities.
It’s second chance romance with a secret baby rolled into one. Although, keeping the baby a secret was not a deliberate or malicious thing. Cage and Alicia were in love as young adults, sharing their first times together. Cage left after with no word to Alicia, she ended up pregnant with no way to get a hold of him. It was a really sweet love story low on drama, although I would’ve hoped Alicia had given Cage a little more trouble when he came back. Regardless, It was a good short read.

Such a fun, lively story about the power of a mother’s love for her child, the love one has for one’s self, the love two people meant to be together have for each other, and the power of forgiveness most of all: the power to forgive others who wrong you, the power to forgive someone who wronged someone you love, and the power to forgive YOURSELF above all else.
This story will hook you right from the beginning and refuse to let you go right until the very end. You’ll probably even be asking if there’s going to be a sequel focusing on the baby, because I know I’m asking just that same question. The baby in this story will wrap himself right around your heart.
So sit on back and enjoy watching the sparks fly in this very cute family oriented story. It has everything you could want in a good romance.

This is a short sweet story of a second chance. A good read.

Not only did she have to deal with her loss, but she also had to deal with a baby when she found out she was pregnant. Five years later, Cage, her only love, comes back to town to deal with his mother’s death and is quite surprised to find out he is a father. Can they move forward after all this time? The characters are resilient, determined and forgiving. The storyline is genuine, intriguing and emotional. Great read.
