The perfect conclusion in this heartbreaking duet. After the cliffhanger in The Wright Love I just couldn’t wait to get some answers. Those two weeks were torture! I’ve been dying to know what happens next in Sutton and David’s story.
And the The Wright One is just as heartbreaking and emotional as The Wright Love. I cried, I swooned and I loved.
“I thought it was… right. But it’s not”
The Wright One is a little bit different than the first book. Yet it’s totally the same. The story of Sutton and David is full of love and pain, trust and secrets, it’s about two people who try to find their way to each other even when life makes it difficult – Sutton’s conflicting feelings for David and her dead husband, David’s family,…
“I wanted nothing more than to make her happy. Tomake my butterfly spread her wings.”
The Wright One is pure, it’s raw and emotional. I loved Sutton and David in this book! They were the perfect, imperfect couple.
Sutton, I adore her so much! She’s such a sweet and lovely person, and had to go through so much. She’s strong and just wants to be happy. And David, he’s just the sweetest. He won’t push Sutton for anything and loves and respect her and her wishes. Hes loyal and always wants what’s best for Sutton and her son.
The whole story is just amazing. I loved it and can’t wait to read the next book by KA Linde.
This was a good story about love and loss and finding love again. Well worth the read! A great conclusion the the whole Wright Series.
The Wright One is the conclusion to the Wright Love Duet, and I have been dying to know how everything was going to play out after that whopper of a cliffhanger! Luckily the book picks up almost immediately, and we’re treated to ALL the answers!
This book is jam packed with angst & drama, and definitely keeps the reader on their toes! While The
Wright Love was Sutton’s story, this one was more about David. We learn all of his dirty little secrets, and get more of a glimpse into exactly who he was and how it shaped him into who he now is.
While I loved their story, I wasn’t as thrilled with how this book played out. Book 1 was all about taking things slow, and I felt like this one was more rushed. Certain parts made me want to scream, but then I would find myself smiling a few pages later. While I would have liked the pace of both books to have been similar, after finishing I realized that each one was perfect for the character is represented.
If this is the last we are getting of one of my favorite families then it was definitely the perfect ending. I love these characters, their loves, and their family dynamic. And I hope everyone loves them all as much as I do!
(3.75-4 stars)
I’ve been wondering how this duet was going to end since finishing the first book. I was worried at the start of TWO that (this should NOT be a surprise) Sutton and David got back together too soon and that there would be no more story to tell. BOY! Was I wrong. Their ups and downs made Sutton’s grief not only believable but relatable. I loved the epilogue and it wrapped up Sutton’s duet and the Wright series beautifully and the tears left on my face were happy ones
I like to whole series. I just had to keep reading
YES!! We have the conclusion of David & Sutton’s story in The Wright One. David so was the WRIGHT one for Sutton…
The Wright Love left is on a cliffy. Oh yeah, I should have warned you… The Wright One is NOT a standalone. Here’s the deal, The Wright One is the second book in the Wright Love duet. However, you really do need to read K.A. Linde’s Wright series to fully enjoy David & Sutton’s story. Things won’t fully make sense to you if you don’t.
So back to my review…
David royally screwed up in The Wright Love. He broke Sutton’s faith in their love with a white lie. But know that David couldn’t be more prefect in The Wright One. He put Sutton first throughout this duet. Sutton grew from a shell of herself to a strong woman who stood up for herself and her son. She also was able to mend her heart so that she could love and trust again.
If I tell you more, I will ruin things for you. Completely! Just know that K.A. Linde does her thing and takes your heart on a journey that will kill you and then mend your heart back together again.
I have to tell you that it kills me that the Wrights are done. I am going to miss this family so much! I have enjoyed them a lot! They are a family that I will always remember. I am looking forward to her spin off series that is coming. I hope the Wrights make an appearance….
Thank you, K.A. Linde, for all of these characters. I have enjoyed them all! Thank you!!!
I have a feeling that I’ll have the unpopular opinion on this one. If you remember that major cliffhanger at the end of The Wright Love, I was left wondering how this book was going to go. Once a major secret is revealed, Sutton makes it known that she can handle so much especially in her vulnerable state. And David just has to deal with the consequences of the truth he was keeping from not only Sutton, but the Wright family as well.
Before I dive into this review, I’m just going to state that I’ll never understand what Sutton is going through with the tragic loss of her husband, I haven’t known what it’s like to truly grieve like she is. And with that, I’m going to say I have a feeling that I may be judging her a bit harshly especially with the way she has handled things in this book.
I struggled a lot with Sutton’s character, she was definitely more reactive than taking the time to mull things over before saying or doing anything. I totally understand how it is to be in the moment and learning such a big truth and just flying off the handle. So I saw why she reacted the way she did. For the entirety of this book, I was very much Team David, despite his truth withholding, I don’t think he was really given the chance to speak his side. It was very evident even in The Wright Love that it really troubled him to bring what happened in his past especially when it dealt with his family. Yes, he has secrets, but he hasn’t told anyone, anything before.
And Sutton could never look at the bigger picture of why he didn’t just come out and be honest about who he truly was. Not that lying is okay, but his reasons were coming from a very personal place where it was tough for him to talk about, period. I felt like she judged him too harshly and it didn’t seem fair. To be honest, the entire time I don’t think she was 100% ready to dive into a relationship. But David definitely helped her find a life with renewed happiness. If she was able to focus more on that, it would have been okay. That’s the thing about a lying, there’s always a reason why someone does it whether it be good or bad, there’s always a reason.
Even when David was finally able to tell her the reasons why he did it, you totally understand him a bit more and come to love him just a wee bit more … if you didn’t already love him.
I couldn’t handle the constant pushing away that Sutton did towards David, he was literally on his hands and knees showing her that he wants to be with her. He kept proving it to her time after time and still, she’d push him away. As harsh as it may sound, there were times when I thought “you deserve better”. At what point do you decide to draw the line? When you feel like you’re maxed out emotionally, when is enough, enough? Everyone has their limits and David definitely found his in this book. I admired that even though at that point when Sutton was his happiness; if he knew that he couldn’t have her, he was willing enough to walk away and find his happiness with someone who will appreciate him entirely.
If anything, Sutton needed to have some deep meditation or something, to really think about what she truly wanted. She let people not pertaining to her and David’s relationship influence her and create so much doubt not only for herself but as a mother. Sutton’s an amazing mother and anyone who didn’t think so, well I have several words I’d like to say about that …
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this duet, I completely fell in love with David in this one. I felt like this duet could have been a full-length standalone novel since The Wright One was shorter than I expected it to be, but then again, I know nothing about editing. As painful as the process was during this conclusion for David and Sutton, I was happy to finally see them make their way towards a happy ever after.
4.25 – A Wonderfully Charming, Positively Compelling and Deeply Moving Conclusion!
A sweet and deeply moving conclusion to an amazing and breathtaking story about losing someone, healing, taking risks, and finding love again. The Wright One had it all – humor, grief, steam, angst, drama, romance, and heart… SO MUCH HEART! K.A. Linde is exceptionally talented in writing stories that have ALL the FEELS and once again, she had me completely captivated and incredibly smitten.
After that heart-wrenching cliffhanger in The Wright Love, I was absolutely dying to know what would happen next between Sutton and David. I really wanted them to work things out and have their HEA. They both had been through so much and deserved all the love and happiness.
I’m so glad I didn’t have to wait too long for this and so satisfyingly thrilled with how K.A. Linde ended Sutton and David’s story. The FEELS with this one…SO DAMN AMAZING! My heart ached and I FELT SO MUCH for both Sutton and David — their pain, their fears, their attraction, their guilt, their love… ALL of that and more! The chemistry between them was so palpable, realistic and incredibly swoony! I was utterly addicted and just couldn’t get enough.
The writing was emotional, genuine, relatable and so heartfelt. The plot was filled with adorable relationships, sexy moments, heartbreaking scenes, and fun surprises and twists. I loved getting to know David and learning more about his past. He’s definitely a keeper in my eyes and an absolutely lovable book boyfriend. I thought Sutton’s growth was beautifully developed and sincerely moving. I didn’t always agree with her actions, but Sutton’s strength and determination had me rooting for her the entire time. There were so many things that was done so Wright in this book and I enjoyed every single moment I spent with Sutton and David.
This was such a wonderfully charming, amazingly affecting, and positively compelling story that melted my heart and touched my soul. There were definitely moments of sadness and pain, but also moments filled with so much laughter, passion, love, strength, and hope. My heart is brimming with so much warmth and happiness that I just can’t stop smiling. I’m absolutely enamored with K.A. Linde’s gorgeous writing and cannot wait to read more of her books!
(I have Blood Match next on my TBR for a blog tour and I’m so bloody excited to start that one!)
I received an advance reader copy of this book from Inkslinger Blogger Program and K.A. Linde in exchange for a fair and honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own
“Thank you for being my joy when I needed it most.”
It’s HERE! This amazing, beautiful, and emotional duet is complete! THE WRIGHT ONE, the epic finale of K.A. Linde’s Wright Love Duet, gives us the happily ever after that Sutton and David truly deserves. Linde pulls no punches when it comes to the emotional impact this will have on your mind, body, and soul. After completely devouring the first book, I was left with my heart shattered in my hands. With book two, the author took my shattered heart, mended it back together, piece by piece, and filled it with so much damn love for this story, this family, and these characters. The Wright family has definitely stolen a piece of my heart. I love this series, these amazing characters, and the impeccable writing of this mega talented author. If you are looking for a romance that will completely steal your heart, look no further. K.A. Linde gives her fans exactly what they want…and then some.
The Wright One is the much highly anticipated conclusion to Sutton and David’s story, which picks up from where The Wright Love ended. The series highlights how secrets have an uncanny way of being revealed at the most inappropriate time. For David Calloway, the revelation of his secret came at a time when his fragile relationship with Sutton had blossomed. It is said trust once lost cannot be regained. Can David convince Sutton that he meant her no harm when he failed to disclose his secret? Will he be able to regain her trust?
This installment explores David’s past, providing insight into what shaped him into the person he is today. We learn the reason he felt he had to hide his past and to be honest I could not fault him for doing so. However, what I blamed him for was his failure to disclose the truth to Sutton after their relationship developed beyond mere friendship. I liked that he tried to make amends, and he owned up to his mistakes.
Coming to terms with his past was difficult, but he did and in the process healed the rift that materialised after the revelation of his secret. It also helped to heal his relationship with his family.
I could relate to Sutton’s feeling of betrayal at David’s actions and for a while, she doubted her decision to start another relationship. Then to add fuel to the fire, there were one or two persons who tried to make her feel guilty about her decision. What got to me was her willingness to allow these persons’ negativity to jeopardise her chance at happiness. I found her indecisiveness in this matter frustrating.
The Wright One is a well-written story that demonstrates the power of love. Love has the power to heal as David and Sutton would discover. I enjoyed following them on their journey of healing, forgiveness and acceptance.
Conclusion/Recommendation
If you are looking for a series that has depth and will tug at your emotions and features relatable characters the Wright Duet is perfect for you
WOW!! I LOVE ALL THE WRIGHT THINGS!! I was dying to get my hands on this one after the way The Wright Love ended! It was SO worth the wait!! Sutton and David’s story had all the feels and I am so completely in love!! HUGE FIVE STARS!!
3.5 stars for – The Wright One – book two in the Wright Love Duet by K.A. Linde. The Wright Love has to be read first in order to really
have a good understanding of David and Sutton’s history and/or relationship dynamics. This is also what appears to be the end of the Wright series on a whole as all of the siblings have had their stories but with their Canadian cousins moving to Lubbock, Texas diehard fans like me can always hope for a spin-off series featuring the wealthy enigmatic family we have all come to adore.
Sutton Wright finally decided she was allowed to be happy and wasn’t going to let anyone get in her head when she once again felt her foundation crumble. This time lies and deceit were the cause of her heartache but she still felt the pain of betrayal and loss all the same causing her once again to question everything. Having lost it all once before she doesn’t feel strong enough to ever go through that all over again.
David knows he made a huge mistake not being honest with Sutton but he is determined to prove himself before it’s too late. He has never wanted anyone as much as he does her and he will do whatever it takes to have her but she has to stop pushing him away first.
I loved book one so much and had high hopes for this one but I didn’t love all the back and forth between David and Sutton. All the “she loves me, she loves me not” was waaay too much for me as it tended to drag on throughout the entire book and then just when I thought they got it together it was David who decided to do a runner. While this was not my favorite of the series on a whole it was fantastic and one I highly recommend.
The Wright One is the conclusion to The Wright Love in the Wright Love Duet. I couldn’t wait to read this book and see what happens with Sutton and David. The story picked up right where it left off, and it was so emotional and loving. I was pulling for them, and hoping that they could overcome the obstacles that where standing in the way. Sutton and David were great, and they had such a strong connection. I loved how all the Wright family were in each others books. I enjoyed this series.
After Sutton and David’s worlds, once again, imploded – hers, due to David’s secrets and half-truths, and his, due to his inability to discuss his past and reveal what family he was part of when he took the position at Wright, both of them are left reeling, attempting to pick up the pieces of their broken hearts and their shattered souls. And while David is willing to fight for Sutton, explain why he didn’t share his past with her, and prove to her that he’s all in with her, Sutton too stunned and hurt to listen and David’s betrayal is not something she’s willing to overlook, at least not initially and quite possibly never.
Based on their respective pasts, I understand why both Sutton and David feel like they lost everything again, and even though what they lost before is due to different circumstances, it doesn’t mean that one of them has suffered more than the other one; it just means that moving on is not as easy for Sutton as it is for David, and it’s because of Sutton’s inability to reconcile her feelings for David with what she felt/still feels for Maverick that she’s constantly second guess everything and what makes everything worse is the fact that people who are close to Sutton offer her unsolicited advice, resulting in her head being a jumbled mess and her heart being shredded more so than she ever thought it could be.
I wholeheartedly understand why Sutton is so hot and cold with David; she’s scared out of her mind, and K.A. Linde does a fantastic job of illustrating just how tormented Sutton is with the thought of moving on from Maverick and forging a new life with David. It’s not an easy decision to make, especially because there’s a 2 year old little boy who will be impacted as well. Sutton’s resilience is admirable and her willingness to risk it all again, despite her second guessing everything, show how strong of a woman she is and how much she wants to let love back into her life. But because Sutton has not fully processed her grief and not fully accepted what she feels for David, it’s an uphill battle for them, which is frustrating and heartbreaking to witness because it’s beyond clear just how much David brings to Sutton’s life and just how much they care for one another despite all of their baggage.
I also get why David hid the truth of his parentage from Sutton and all of the Wright siblings. His last name implicated him even though he was not a part of his parents’ scandalous acts, and what he went through during that time and the decisions he made eight years ago proves how much David had to weather and it also shows the kind of man he is despite the fact that he kept who he was from the people who considered him family.
Once I learned all of the information about David, I truly couldn’t find fault in his actions…don’t get me wrong lying or omitting information is wrong and it can destroy relationships, but I guess I saw who David was by his actions more so than the information he didn’t give, so I could easily accept his explanation and move forward, but I’m a bystander in this situation, so being in the heart of it definitely changes things, I just think I would have given him the opportunity to explain based on who David has shown himself to be in the time that he’s been in Lubbock, Texas. What I found so endearing is the fact that David never once tries to replace Maverick in either Sutton’s or Jason’s heart and that speaks volumes about the type of man that David is.
Who’s to say when someone moves too fast or rushes a reconciliation? It’s easy for those people on the outside to share their opinion but that doesn’t mean it’s the right one…it doesn’t mean that Sutton and David have to follow the path that others seem to want them to, because if they did, who knows what would have or wouldn’t have happened between them, which means that not only would Sutton and David lose an opportunity to find love again, but the Wright family would lose a key employee and Jason would lose the chance of having a father figure on Earth who loves him as much as his father in heaven does and who would want to miss out on that kind of love and devotion?
The Wright Love duet illustrates the power of love as well as the idea that everyone deserves a second chance despite the hurt and heartbreak they may have caused. Life’s a bumpy journey, but to truly experience it, things are going to be difficult…there are going to be obstacles to overcome and fears to try to push away, but in the end, feeling all of the ups and downs and highs and lows of life means that life is truly being lived instead of life moving forward and someone merely existing in it.
4.5 Poison Apples
Linde has blown me away this this perfectly epic ending to Sutton’s story! All the feels come out in this story! The happiness and smiles. The tears and the heartache. The wild passion. Everyone needs to read this duet! Heck, everyone needs the entire Wright series! Linde never ceases to pull me so far in to her characters stories that I never want to leave. I cannot wait to see what she’ll deliver us next! Kudos, KA Linde, on another fabulously perfect book!
In The Wright One we get the 2nd half of Suttons story, which sadly is also the last of The Wright Series. Kyla has made this such an enjoyable series over the past year and I’m sad it’s over. But it has been a very fun and emotional journey meeting all the Wrights. She was able to tie everything up for Sutton in this last book and I found it packed with so much heart and emotion, I had a hard time putting it down.
In The Wright One, we pick up literally right where we left off from The Wright Love. We have just found out David’s true identity. While some of the family is stunned & attempting to push David away, he is desperately trying to explain himself to the one Wright who matters most. Sutton.
There are struggles in this book, demons to conquer, obstacles to overcome, but David is not giving up on her. While Sutton is confused as ever, and hurt, she is not sure they have anything worth repairing. The path ahead of them isn’t going to be an easy one. Struggles lie ahead and obstacles come at them from all directions they couldn’t have even imagined. But as they hold onto one another you can truly see their bond and strength they have in one another. As Kyla throws in the curveballs and angst we all love from her, we a character never more deserving of her happy ending.
Kyla has done such a fabulous job portraying these characters and developing this whole family’s stories throughout the series, that I have to give her a standing ovation for finishing off The Wrights in such a manor with Sutton. With their devastating and tragic pasts trying to dictate the future, the bond between them is a site to behold.
A gorgeous, beautifully romantic and unmissable conclusion to The Wright Duet…
I should not be this happy about finishing a book, and yet I can’t bring myself to be anything other than happy for Sutton and David. Every single book in The Wright Family series has been short of incredible, but this duet was just so freaking beautiful. Every part was just romantic comedy perfection. There was only one thing I could fault, and it isn’t something that took away from the story itself or that many—if any—readers will take issue with. I guess I would’ve liked to see the whole Van Pelt drama worked out.
I loved that The Wright One went straight into the action where The Wright Love left off. I liked that the recap wasn’t some long-winded monologue, but that it was incorporated into the ebb and flow and the feelings that conspired as a result of that cliffhanger. As plots go, this is a romance through and through with very little explosive drama. Saying that, the chemistry between Sutton and David is more than enough tot make up for the lack of it. In fact, it made it impossible for me to put this book down. Not to mention seeing the other Wright siblings move forward and take big steps in their own stories. I think that’s what made this book so special, seeing all the other stories before it continue blossoming and blooming in the background of this one.
There were a few new character introductions, my favourites being Penn and Katherine. I had hopes that they would have their own story told, but I’ve come to understand that Katherine will not be Penn’s leading lady in his book. What a pity it is because I just love her, and I’d love to see her stick it to Camden. I honestly can’t believe how much I came to fall in love with Katherine and how quickly, especially considering how little of her we saw in comparison to the other characters. I really cannot wait for her book…I hope to all that’s good in this world that she has a book.
The Wright Duet was quite simply a pleasure to read and get lost in. It was romance at its best and I really cannot wait to binge read it all again…from The Wright Love to The Wright One. I am so gutted that there is going to be a wait for more of the Wrights. I hope that we do get Julian and Jordan’s stories soon. Although, maybe Katherine’s would be welcomed first. But at this point beggars can’t be choosers and I’m definitely begging for more from the Wrights and their friends!
The author has certainly given us a rather riveting, nail biting end to Sutton and Davids story!
Does it end in a happily ever after?? You need to read it for yourself!
This book starts where The Wright Love ended and nothing is as it seems or so we think!
I love that Sutton has such a great support network in her family and that they will tell her like it is or should be!
I thought David was so charming, he really is swoonworthy! Willing to do his utmost to get the girl! But Suttons grief and other factors come into play and it does get rather heated!
I really loved this story, its a real credit to the author and the way she has written it!
I really felt for the characters, I understood their trials and tribulations in their lives! I really wanted a beautiful outcome to happen! I had no clue which way things would go for them, to be honest but I absolutely loved it! These characters will forever be in my heart, thats for sure! Who wouldn’t want to be a part of the Wright family??!! I know I certainly do!
Looking forward to reading more books from this author!
I loved the ending to Sutton and David’s story, as hard as it was on the heart watching them get there. I was very excited for this conclusion, and as usual, it didn’t disappoint. I’m sad to be leaving the Wright world, I will miss all these great characters!
Gosh! I’ve waited so long for Sutton and David’s story. Then I had to wait again for the second installment. Let me tell you, it was every bit worth the wait.
Sutton still battles with guilt. Guilt over even thinking about moving on. Guilt over having feelings for someone else. Guilt over Mav not being here. David has given her space. He’s given her time. He’s gone as slow as she needed. Although he’s a patient man, he’s not sure how much more of Sutton’s indecisiveness he can handle. And when she breaks things off with him, well, he knows he’s done then. He can’t hang on to an idea.
I’ve loved this entire series. It’s been hard to settle on just whose story has been my favorite. I think I was waiting on Sutton’s story all along. She’s not like the others. She’s independent. She doesn’t let the family business decide her career. David is every bit as perfect for her and he can get. I couldn’t imagine these two not together. The story that the author weaved was one that was just magical. It’s intriguing and complicated, angsty and breathtaking. I loved every word. This series is one of my favorites. This duet was the perfect way to end it!
