A billionaire contemporary romance stand alone from USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde… couldn’t resist our charged chemistry, or the way he fit into my life like a missing puzzle piece.
Too bad he’d forgotten the one thing that could destroy us.
Because Jensen Wright doesn’t share. Not with anyone. And if his brother finds out, this could all go down in flames.
When it all was said and done, was he the Wright brother?

Jensen and Emery have chemistry that sizzles. What happens though when his younger brother finds out Jensen has been seeing is ex-girlfriend from ten years ago. Lots of romance and fun with the characters, makes this an easy to read contemporary romance.
Emery returns back to her hometown of Lubbock, TX. After finding out that her boyfriend of 3 years has been cheating on her. She left her TA position and stopped school. She needed to get away and fast!
Emery’s best friend Heidi gets her to attend a wedding alongside her as her plus one. Only to learn that it’s a wedding of the Wright family. The one family she swore off altogether 10 years ago. Emery locks eyes with her ex-boyfriend’s older brother Jensen. Whom she had a crush on before she dated his younger brother. He doesn’t recognize her at all but knows that he wants her.
At the wedding, they kissed and she quickly disappeared into the night.
Jensen quickly finds out exactly who she is. Can he overcome her past with his brother? Can they open up to each other and trust one another given both of their pasts?

Entertaining. Characters had great chemistry. A little repetitive in places, but a good ensemble cast and a solid beginning to a series.
This was my first read by K.A. Linde, and it will definitely not be my last. I loved this book.
I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the rest of this series.
I just love family drama book series. This one did not disappoint.
Gahhhh this book!! This is the second series I have ever read by this author, and she does not disappoint. It begins with a scandal, cheating boyfriend. Wait no, cheating boyfriend professor. Wait, should I mention the main character is a graduate student? You see what I mean?! And some how K.A. Linde makes us fall in love with another man just as quickly as we learned to hate the first. If you want Mr. Dreamy, he’s here.
Awesome book
Audible Escape. This book was saved by the narrators. It’s not horrible, it’s just passable.
The biggest issue is that in order to create “intrigue” or “drama” or whatever ~ the author has the MC’s keeping secrets that don’t make any sense.
Emery has returned to Lubbock after 10 years following a break-up with a cheating ex and deciding the master’s degree she was earning wasn’t what she wanted. She has returned to the land of the Wright family who are all gorgeous and wealthy. Apparently she dated Landon Wright in high school for two years. They broke up when they went to college ~ but somehow this is a *thing* that has scarred her and makes her not want anything to do with the Wrights.
Jensen Wright is the current “patriarch” of the Wright family as their parents are dead and he’s the oldest. They all, of course, have a variety of issues.
Emery’s friend, Heidi, brings Emery to the youngest Wright’s wedding. Emery has been all dolled up and no one recognized her so Heidi introduces her as Em. Somehow this is enough to fool people who’ve known her her entire life.
Emery & Jensen meet and sparks fly. Yay. Except, not so much. First everyone seems to think that since Emory and Landon dated that this is somehow taboo. This becomes an annoying refrain throughout the whole book. Also, Jensen is under the impression that Emery is only here temporarily and proceeds to act like a jerk after their one-night-stand. Then he changes his mind and tries to win her back. She ignores him.
Again Emery is invited by Heidi to the Wright Company Christmas party. I know this is a small town ~ but this is just weird and a weak “vehicle” to get Emery & Jensen in the same room again. But, it works, and we’re off again.
Anyyyway… without spoilers, there’s more secrets and more revelations that are anti-climactic or just don’t make sense. Landon’s current wife and Jensen’s ex bring all sorts of OTT catty drama. These are adults, right?
Emery & Jensen get their HEA and I’ve managed to become intrigued enough to want to listen to the next book, mostly because I love those narrators too. Would I spend a credit on this, no. But as part of Unlimited listening on Audible Escape, sure.

I admit that what attracted me when I decided to pick up this book was the cover. It’s usual, yet it has some charm that screams “read this book!”. I usually read some reviews before I start reading, and I feared this one was like many other titles I read in the past that had good covers but disappointing stories. Well, I’m happy that this time I enjoyed both the story and the cover.
“The Wright Brother” is a book that works well because you are throw into the story from the first lines of the first chapter. Emery, the female protagonist, discovers her boyfriend cheating on her, and this event makes her decide to quit her PhD program and go back to her hometown, Lubbock, Texas. I liked how she explains what happens directly and doesn’t dwell on things for a long time, because it would’ve been tiring to read about her complaints and whatnot about what was happening to her. She sure does have a brain and is not an idiot like many other female characters I read in other books. She is likeable and I like how she thought and acted. Most of all, besides her not dwelling on her problems, I liked that she was mature.
The main male character, Jensen, is your usual billionaire CEO, although business is rarely part of the plot as the story focuses on his attraction to Emery and other issues that I won’t talk about because they are spoilers. Jensen is a mysterious man who has closed his heart to anybody after his divorce. I rolled my eyes at one idiotic thing he does in the book, but that’s about it. I think that like Emery, he was mature and what he does and how he does it make sense.
I really have no complaints about this book. I loved Emery and Jensen and I liked their interactions and dynamics, because there was a good kind of angst between them. While I noticed some authors resort to the usual drama between couples in romance books, here the love story was handled with logic and I don’t know, it just felt right what Emery and Jensen did, at least it felt refreshing to me read about what they went through. Like I said, besides some moments that can happen in every couple who is in the step to getting to know each other, they were handled well and I could feel their bond while reading.
This was the first book I read by K.A. Linde but I already have another series by her purchased, so I may read her again as I like her writing style. I like how she’s direct and doesn’t drag the storyline. Maybe her plots are a bit predictable, but I’d rather have predictable and enjoyable with likeable characters than a story that bores me to death with annoying characters. So I’m glad I finally decided to read this book.
Good balanced hot romance with HEA
I tried but I just couldn’t be ok with having relationships with brothers. I liked the story line with the mystery of Colton’s father.
The Wright Brother is a bit taboo. If you like the twist of going for the brother of your ex-boyfriend then this is a perfect read. There is just enough drama to keep you turning the pages and chemistry in spades. Read to find out which is the Wright Brother.
Couldn’t put the book down. This is a great book to read.
A pleasant before-bed romance. Engaging and light.
Overkill on explicit sex
Great book
If you don’t succeed in love and your ex dumps you the best thing to do is find love with another. I loved this book and read it three times. I had an emotional rollercoaster with this read.
Really good.
I have read a few of KA Linde’s books, and I have greatly enjoyed them. She has a style of writing that I find that I like. The Wright Brother is a great introduction to what seems like what will be another great series!
Emery has just dropped out of her Ph.D program and moves home to Lubbock, Texas. Jensen Wright is heading the company that his father started, all while trying to lead the entire Wright family. These two meet, and the chemistry is off the charts, however, they have a few problems: Emery dated Jensen’s brother (Landon) for two years in high school, and Jensen has some skeletons in his closet that need to be revealed.
I really like the Wright family, and can’t wait to read more of them!
This author is new to me and I enjoyed this book. One thing that I wish had been written differently was the role of the “evil ex-wife” in the story … she was too one dimensional for me and I think a different approach to her role in the story might have worked better. Also, a lot of the secrecy in the story regarding Jensen’s ex seemed unnecessary. Another character that I could’ve done without was Landon’s wife, Miranda who makes flying monkeys look sweet. Maybe there are people in this world who are that completely hateful and unreasonable and immature and act like jerks … luckily I’ve never had to deal with them. In spite of those two criticisms, I liked the other characters and story enough to easily finish this book and go on read more by this author.
I enjoyed reading this book and ready for more.
