A new stand alone office romance from USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde…I’ve always had one rule:Don’t mix business and pleasure. But then Landon Wright comes home to his family’s construction company with a broken back and a beaten heart and ends up as my new sexy boss. As the office gets heated, I’m thinking about throwing the rulebook out the window. If only there weren’t a million … only there weren’t a million reasons this could never work.
We may have shared a single perfect kiss, but I can’t let our intense connection cloud my judgment. Not with everything I’ve worked for on the line.
Dating your boss is so very, very wrong…even if he feels so Wright.

A great book 2 in this Wright series. A forbidden storyline with sizzling hot chemistry. The narration is fantastic and can’t wait to read the next one.
Well I do love a good office romp and this book, which is the second in the original Wright Brothers Series didn’t disappoint. At the start I wasn’t sure I could stomach it as I don’t read cheating but was happy to see that there wasn’t any in the end.
So this is Landon and Heidi’s story. She’s a sharp talking pool hustler with a banging body. He’s an injured pro-golfer floundering to find purpose outside of golf. They’ve known each other forever but it’s a complicated relationship and he ends up being her boss. Their attraction is explosive with passionate kisses up against brick walls and hot AF “relations” in the workplace *fans self*, but the emotions are a tangled web and they are not the only ones in the relationship. The Wright family are a force to be reckoned with and there’s an ex and jealousy is rife. There’s plenty of push and pull and when they finally get their sh*t together their HEA is there for the taking. I loved the friendly banter between Heidi and her bestie Emery (who is with Jensen from Book 1). It reminded me of some of the convos I’ve had with Mere, sassy and filthy and funny AF. I am always down for some hot office steam and this book had plenty of it to satisfy that craving. So, if you are looking for a fun, but feely at times, LOL book with a good dose of steam look no further.
Love this series!
I loved this story.
This is the story of Landon & Heidi. Landon is a professional golfer. He is also married to a not so nice person, Miranda, for reasons no one knows about. Heidi is Emery’s best friend, who is married to Landon’s older brother, Jensen, and works in the Engineering Department of Wright Construction. Landon and Heidi went to school together when Landon was going out with Emery for two years. What a web this family weaves. At New Years when the Wright family was together, Landon and Heidi realized they felt something for each other. He had to abruptly as per se, end it, because he was still married. Now he plans to leave his wife. They’re at their high school reunion, and he wants to know if she still feels the same. Things did go awry then. Heidi works in the Engineering Department at Wright Construction. Landon takes a job there to fill in a gap while an injury he has heals. Employee fraternization is against the rules. Plus, he is her boss. And all that is only the introduction to this story. Mistakes were made. There was no regret, and then there was. Devastating things happen. Who was responsible? Steamy love is at the forefront of everything. It’s hard to stay strong, and then blame the other person for their weakness, when it takes two. A very well written story by K.A. Linde. I’ll be looking forward to reading more of her books.
After reading The Wright Brother in a Top Shelf Romance collection, I was hooked into this Wright series and couldn’t resist continuing. This is a family composed of 5 siblings, all damaged by their upbringing. Their mother died of cancer when the youngest was one year old and the oldest eleven years old. Their father was an abusive alcoholic who died of alcohol poisoning. When he died, Jensen, the oldest sibling at twenty-three, had to take charge of the family business, Wright Construction, and finish raising his younger brothers and sisters. Each of the siblings has their own story in this series and they are all fascinating.
In this one, Landon is married to this horrible woman Miranda, whom everyone in his family hates. It’s obvious she’s with Landon for his money, and she’s an abrasive, manipulative witch. She realizes she’s losing Landon so she’s holding on to him stronger than ever, very possessive and jealous. Meanwhile, the other Wright siblings are pushing for a divorce!
Landon and Heidi have a thing, a kiss, that felt like a promise but for some obscure reason he left and broke communications. His marriage, which seemed to be in the rocks, suddenly is on the go again. He’s seen catering to his wife and trying to reassure her about her obsession with Emery, who used to be Landon’s high school sweetheart. Little does she realize the danger is with Emery’s best friend Heidi.
Out of the Wright siblings, Landon and Sutton didn’t go to work at Wright Construction. Sutton went from college to get married and have a baby; Landon went pro right after college and he’s qualified in the PGA. He recently hurt his back, so he’s taking a one year rest while treating his injury.
While getting PT, Landon’s back at Wright Construction, working a management job and miserable about it. He has a damaged back, a damaged heart from his broken marriage, he’s away from the game he loves, and now finds he’s Heidi’s boss. One of Wright Construction’s rules is a no relation between co-workers, so this would be a forbidden relation. But who can resist against such a strong attraction as these two have?
This story had a lot of back and forth; between temptation and obligation, between being married and being separated, between the woman you love and want to be with and the woman who doesn’t want to let you go. Miranda is trying to hold on to Landon but it’s mostly to his money and status. Heidi comes from very humble beginnings and her job is everything to her, so being with Landon is dangerous.
This author writes such addictive conflicts and compelling characters. I love the Wright siblings, love the crazy friendship between Emery and Heidi, love the fun times bromance between Austin and Patrick, and even Jensen’s uptight attitude. It’s fun time with the Wright family and a spectacular forbidden love story. I also loved hating Miranda and watching her slink away into obscurity.
I loved the characters in this emotionally complex love story. I definitely could relate to the heroine as she fought for her independence and the hero with his awful ex created plenty of drama. Strangely enough, my brother was a pro golfer and my dad owned a bar…so I felt right at home in this story. One note about the back injury…it would have certainly debilitated him a lot more than he showed here. That’s my only critique. Otherwise a fast paced and enjoyable romance.
It makes you realize communication in a relationship is important! Some scenes are a bit over the top. All in all a fun read.
I recommend this series.
Another great read. A couple editing errors. Though i barely noticed due to the storyline and believable character’s. I love the dual perspective of her writing as well. 2nd book I’ve read from this author and I’ve already got the next one ready to read. Enjoy

I don’t know why I waited to continue this series a few months ago, despite liking the first book a lot… maybe because I wasn’t in the mood to read about the second Wright brother and his wife drama. Well, and it did have a lot of wife drama.
We’ve met the protagonists of The Wright Boss in the previous book, The Wright Brother. Landon Wright is a professional golfer but he has injured his back so he needs to take a break from golfing… and from his whiny wife. He goes back to where his brothers and sister live, in Lubbock, Texas, to breathe fresh air. There he meets Heidi again. Heidi is his ex girlfriend’s best friend, and a couple of months before, right when said ex began dating Landon’s older brother Jensen, they hit it off and found they were compatible. But nothing happened anymore. Landon was married and despite his disgusting and drama queen wife, he tried to salvage his marriage. And it didn’t work.
Heidi works for Wright Construction and she’s very good at her job. But she has a rule. Never date co-workers. So when Landon Wright becomes her new boss, that rule is in jeopardy… and so might be her job. But what can she do? She likes Landon, and he makes her happy.
Well, this book was light but also full of drama. I listened to the audiobook and made faces when somebody (see: Landon’s mad wife Miranda or some misogynistic prick) did something that made me angry or sad. People might have thought I was crazy. Well, some of the things that happened in this one made me go a bit insane, but I knew that everything would resolve in the end.
My only issue was with how this one and the previous book had an “ex lover” drama. In The Wright Brother, we had his ex and his kid drama, then here we had a great deal of bitchy Miranda drama. She was the absolute worst and she’s so annoying because she doesn’t want to let Landon go despite he tried and tried to make their marriage better. I wish it didn’t only revolve about this, though. Because ex lovers aren’t the only ones who can create tension and stuff in a book. Let’s hope the 3rd one doesn’t have a clingy ex or I’ll be seriously annoyed.
I’m not even mad that Landon starts his relationship with Heidi while still legally married to Miranda. They were separated and she kept denying him divorce, so it wasn’t a problem. But maybe everything didn’t have to revolve around that?
Whatever, this is a safe read and the type of read that can help you distract.
Updated 8/2/19: Audible Escape. It’s not horrible, it’s just OK. I liked the narrators. Joe Arden is one of my favs. I had a few issues with Lidia Dornet’s portrayal of Heidi & Emery at times ~ occasionally it was as if they never left high school, not that they were nearly 30yo professionals. I’m not sure if it was the writing or Dornet. (I liked Dornet in Lorelei James’ “Need You” series, so I’m inclined to believe it’s this book or director.).
Can we pullleeeze get over the whole “Landon dated Emery in high school” thing? It was beat to death in the first book. Emery is with Jensen now. We’ve all acknowledged that there is *nothing* between Landon & Emery. Why does it have to keep being an abused source of “angst”?
So Landon leaves his wife and the Wright siblings restructure the company to find a position for him. He becomes Heidi’s boss. Landon’s ex acts like a crazy woman. Landon & Heidi “hide” their relationship ~ by going out in public together, by spending the night at each other’s houses, and by going to a PGA event surrounded by media. And then they are SHOCKED that someone saw them. Canyoubelieveit? As us Southerners say, “Bless their hearts”.
Landon & Heidi get their HEA and I’ve managed to stay intrigued enough to want to listen to the next book. Would I spend a credit on this, no. But as part of Unlimited listening on Audible Escape, sure.

I fell in love with Heidi in The Wright Brother, so I was anxious to see what her story was. But more than her, I REALLY wanted to find out what the deal was with Landon and Miranda. Then anticipation kept me on edge and I found The Wright Boss to be so good!
I kinda had a problem at first with the situation that Heidi and Landon were in, especially that he was still married when things first start between them. But after getting to know their history, I couldn’t help but feel that they so belonged together.
I loved the characters, especially the side characters, and just how driven Heidi was. KA Linde did a great job pacing the story. This was a great book!
TBH during the first book when Landon and Heidi’s story was being setup, I really didn’t know how I’d be ok with the fact that Landon had dated her BFF. Call it a double standard but its how I felt. Well…that’s how I felt UNTIL I read the first line of TWBoss. That was one of the best lines and it immediately endeared me to Landon. Unfortunately, saying you want to rid yourself of the most toxic person in your life and actually being able to accomplish that are two entirely different things. Sadly for Landon and Heidi that is a huge obstacle in their relationship. I really enjoyed their story and I couldn’t wait to pick it back up after my work day. The last chapter healed my heart and the epilogue melted it. I cannot wait for the next book because I have no doubt that Austin is going to be on big hot mess and I’m looking forward to every second of it.
This is super hot read.. it can be soo naughty.. slightly forbidden… you would know why I mentioned it.. but it feel so right when its so wrong…
Nothing less from KA Linde.. this one full ride to Sexy Comedy town.. you would want to dive all the way to the last page… so great…
Heidi finds it hard to leave her man at times, “he finally released me, and I slipped out the door. He stood in the open doorway in nothing but his boxers, and it was damn hard to walk away from that.” Landon has no problems speaking his thoughts, “you can always surprise me with a blow job if you want.” I love these Wright siblings and can’t wait for the next book.
It can’t be wrong if it starts with a Wright. Cheesy, yes, but so true. The Wrights maybe Texas royalty but he is a celebrity. Pro Golfer and hometown hero, Landon Wright is everything she craves and desires. No. Nope, she doesn’t crave a MARRIED man.
She is not that kind of girl. Despite what her inner hussy is trying to argue, it’s all wrong. Heidi would never mess with a MARRIED man. No way. But Landon is…her kryptonite. With a complicated and weird history, he seems to be the real deal. If only he weren’t her boss!
The second Wright Brother to crash and burn, Land on is going down in a blaze of glory. It’s a sweet and sexy story. I highly recommend reading them in order though it isn’t necessary. I look forward to seeing the next Wright fall and fall hard!

As an avid KA Linde follower and reader, I am always excited for her next release and what she will bring to each book. In The Wright Boss, we get a story full of so much flirty fun and the angst you come to expect out of Kyla, that this book was just a blast to read! Her writing is truly unique and she never lets me down in the stories she puts out! Whether it is a tale of Cyrene in Mystical land, or Heidi in Lubbock Texas, I know when I pick up one of her books, I won’t be disappointed and I will be pulled into the world she has imagined for us.
In the first book we met Emery and Jensen, and in this book we get her best friend Heidi’s story; which just so happens to be the story of the youngest Wright brother as well, Landon. It was fun getting to see where Emery and Jensen are, as well as some of the other characters I fell in love with in the first book, The Wright Brother.
The book opens to a High School reunion that Landon and Heidi are both attending. Having known each other for years, sparks begin to fly between the pair at the reunion. However, with him just stating to Heidi he was going to be leaving his wife, Heidi backs away knowing she can’t get wrapped up in being a part of someone’s’ infidelity. Her past with her parents is still too fresh and she refuses to be THAT woman. She is drawn to Landon and no doubt attracted to him, but won’t allow herself to go down that path.
Landon is determined to leave his wife for good and make Heidi his, but doesn’t know just how to go about that. His wife is a pain and divorcing her makes for a major plot point throughout the entire book! It even adds in a little angst and plot twist at a certain point in the book I really didn’t’ see coming. When he returns to Lubbock a short time later to attempt reconciliation with Heidi, and become her boss at Wright Construction, he didn’t see it playing out the way it did. He thought his affairs were in order, and he could move in to attempt to start something with Heidi. She however, was still very skeptical of him and even though she knows she wants him, she questions his truthfulness about it as well as her own feelings about the entire situation.
Once things start to play out, everything moves very quickly in the story. I couldn’t put this book down and read it in one quick sitting staying up til the middle of the night, which is very normal for KA Linde book, but this book I just HAD to find out how this would all pay out and couldn’t stop. I was addicted very quickly and needed to see what would happen with Heidi and Landon. I loved Landon’s sincere and kind personality, yet very strong alpha traits he had! Heidi was a very strong, yet guarded character. When things start to unfold about her family and past, I really was so emotionally connected to her and was rooting for her to get the guy! Landon’s past with the PGA and his back injury, also adds very sad and emotional moments for him throughout the book as well.
The mix of everything KA Linde has put into this story was nothing shy of perfection. We get the angst, passion and fun glimpses of other characters we have met before, and characters we hope to see more of in the future. I can’t wait for the next book and to see who the real Austin truly is!
