Captured by Comanche as a child, Molly Hart was assumed dead. Ten years later, Texas Ranger Matt Ryan finds a woman with the same blue eyes.Ten years have passed since Molly Hart’s ranch was attacked, her folks murdered and she was abducted. Now, at nineteen, she’s finally returning home to North Texas after spending the remainder of her childhood with a tribe of Kwahadi Comanche. What she finds … she finds is a deserted home coated with dust and the passage of time, the chilling discovery of her own gravesite, and the presence of a man she thought never to see again.
Matt Ryan is pushed by a restless wind to the broken-down remains of the Hart ranch. Recently recovered from an imprisonment that nearly ended his life, the drive for truth and fairness has all but abandoned him. For ten years he faithfully served the U.S. Army and the Texas Rangers, seeking justice for the brutal murder of a little girl, only to find closure and healing beyond his grasp. Returning to the place where it all began, he’s stunned to encounter a woman with the same blue eyes as the child he can’t put out of his mind.

It was a book that catches you from the beginning. Loved it all the way till finish
I enjoyed reading The Wren by Kristy McCaffrey so much I didn’t want to put it down. The story line was enjoyable, and the characters were likable and interesting. I look forward to more books from this author.
fun read
The Wren is a delightful book filled with wonderful characters!!! I started it and I just couldn’t stop, so I read clear into the night! It’s filled with warm and friendly family members and dear friends, adventures, a magical love story and so much more! When you turn the last page, you feel like you’re saying goodbye to people you’ve grown to love! I didn’t want it to end!
I love historical romances and westerns in paticular or native american related. I love HEA and no cliff hangers. It’s a shame women were treated and talked about after being captives of indians, but it’s not the women’s fault, people can be cruel and bitter. I loved Matt and Molly’s story, although not knowing their stories before this book.
It was good
Once I started this book, I could hardly put it down!
Enjoyed this book. Interesting Indian traditions etc. Full of adventure.
I really enjoyed reading this book and it brings about some interesting subjects such as prejudicial feelings against people who lived among Indians. I feel you will find it an enjoyable historical fiction read.
Found this author and series and had to read them all.
Excellent!
A good read.
Well written, I really enjoyed the characters.
The beginning of the story was great; backgrounds, build-up, etc. Then I hit a plateau. The book became slow and difficult to finish. I actually did stop reading, restarted by skipping several chapters until I found an interesting place to continue the story.
0one of the best books read in a long time. This book has you on the edge of your seat. I cried t the end.
Nice idea for a story. Nice Ronance. Poorly executed. No characters are developed. The story line of the 19 yr old girl held captive for 10 years by Comanche is so lame. Apparently her life with the Indians was just fine, no trauma. The worst part is that she sets up possible relationships with 5 other people but in her last two pages she ties them all up in a nice bow. No reason to read the sequels in my opinion. Everyone lives happily ever after.
Liked how it turned out and the basic goodness of the characters.
Nothing to rave about.
It is the first of a series where all the characters are introduced to be further developed in future books. The story is a little improbable at times like that Molly and Matt would just happen to meet on her abandoned famiily property after a ten year separation where Molly was presumed dead. The characters are likeable and the story becomes romantic.
There are smatterings of what life was like for Molly while she was living with the Comanche but that could have been a little more developed.
In general it was a pleasant story with touches of violence and touches of romance, and a slight twist, An easy fast read.
Excellent reading
