“Newsflash. You don’t buy me, a$#%^*e. You earn me.” The bride is a doll. The groom is the perfect gentleman. But the rest of the wedding party? They’re the stuff of nightmares. Rich? Check. Vapid? Double Check. Entitled? Not enough checks in the world. And the Best Man? More like the Worst Man.But Maid of Honor Franchesca takes her duties seriously. Kidnapped groom? She’s got this. Rude … Kidnapped groom? She’s got this. Rude attendees? You just watch her handle them. So a Best Man with a big attitude and an even bigger…checkbook? Yeah, there’s no way she’s going to let that pretentious, judgmental jackhole ruin her best friend’s wedding. No matter how sexy he is. (Well, that’s the plan anyway…)
Aiden Kilbourn doesn’t do long-term relationships. He’s busy ruling the business world, and has yet to find a woman he can tolerate for longer than a month, two at the outside, anyway. Conquering the unconquerable is basically his bread and butter. And he hasn’t met a challenge that he can’t win. But Franchesca Baranski? This smart-mouthed girl from Brooklyn may just be his downfall.

Lucy Score knocks it out of the park with this sensational, humourous, and sexy contemporary romance. It’s hard to put down and impossible to forget.
An epic Pride and Prejudice inspired novel with a delightfully profane, spitfire of a shero and a hero that’d give Darcy a run for his money. Add in two lovable, interfering brothers, and a destination wedding and you’ve got a recipe for a fabulous read.
Another awesome book by Lucy!!!
Frankie and Aiden are from two different words and watching their opposites attract relationship develop was funny and heartwarming at the same time. Frankie’s large family dynamics are hilarious and seeing Aiden interact with her folks was so entertaining. The story line is so captivating, all the characters are well developed and the protagonists’ journey to happily ever after is epic!
Funny as hell! The title had spoken for itself. These crazy romcom was meant for light reading and taking no serious! I had laughed and giggled so hard.. seriously, you shouldnt read it on public! The story was started at Barbados wedding party and the crazyride had kept going …
Aiden Kilbourn and Francesca Baranski.. oh dear these two people are the worst!! In a good way… Their relationships were fiery so good to keep the book alive! The co-stars were playing the part and seriously.. this story will stay with me forever.. very memorable and romantic
I told myself that lie I always tell myself: I’ll just read for a little while before I go to sleep. Five hours later…. This book is funny & sexy. I loved Frankie (Francesca) and her crazy family – she was strong, funny, down-to-earth, and flawed. Aiden was all kinds of hot. This is my first Lucy Score book – count me a fan!
If you’re looking for a fun and sexy Rom-Com, that’s exactly what you’re going to get from our favorite funny gal and lovable romance author, Lucy Score.
In true Lucy Score fashion, TWBM is a hot and sexy romance filled with plenty of laugh-out-loud moments. Speaking of loud, I dare any reader NOT to fall in love with the heroine’s crazy, but wonderful family from Brooklyn.
To say that Maid of Honor Franchesca Baranski and Best Man Aiden Kilbourn did not exactly start things off on the right foot is merely an understatement. The book opens with everyone heading off to an amazing destination wedding. What could possibly go wrong right?! Oh, boy!!
Nevertheless, I absolutely loved the dynamic between Frankie and Aiden once they left behind all that craziness from their best friends’ island wedding. The chemistry between the two of them is downright explosive. Even though Frankie was determined to freeze Aiden out, he’d already made up his mind that he wanted her melting in his arms, and heating up his bed.
Lucy’s talent is boundless, and she continues to give us heroines we can stand up and clap for, and heroes who make us swoon, in spite of their flaws.
If you haven’t read Lucy Score’s The Worst Best Man yet, you need to go and one-click this crazy, but awesome romance with all the feels. Go ahead. Do it. Amazon. One-click. Read it. Laugh. Love it. No Regrets.

What happens when you mix an independent, outspoken Brooklyn deli owner’s daughter, an uber rich, handsome, Manhattan businessman and throw in the bridal party from hell? Add in a destination wedding, difficult families, a kidnapping, and a whole lot of steamy chemistry then you’ve got the premise for The Worst Best Man! However, this book is so much more. Franchesca “Frankie” Baranski and Aiden Kilbourn are the maid of honor and best man at the ultra-chic wedding of their respective best friends. Frankie, who is outwardly unimpressed by Aiden, is busy trying babysit the “bridesmonsters” and Aiden well, he’s just focused on getting Frankie in his bed!
The first half of this book is Lucy Score rom-com at its absolute best. However, as the book progresses there is a subtle change as Frankie and Aiden return to New York City. The focus shifts to their tenuous relationship, family issues intensify, and the the pair must learn to mix her blue collar roots and his white collar upbringing. At this point Lucy Score transcends from rom-com perfection to crafting the most amazing, emotionally intense, and riveting story she has written to date! Her character development, her storyline, editing, and even her attention to detail is sublime. In addition, Ms. Score has created a heroine who is strong, but vulnerable, and a hero who values those strengths and is protective without being diminishing.
As a reader who devours everything Lucy Score writes, The Worst Best Man is absolutely one of her best…if not her best! She has managed to combine comedy, intrigue, and a swoon worthy relationship all into one book…a trifecta for a great romance novel!
I say this for every Lucy Score book. This is her best book yet. Her writing gets better and tighter. And all these things are true. This book has everything. Multi-faceted main characters that make me want to crawl into the book and live with them. Perfectly evil conflict characters that are oh, so fun to hate on. Comedic relief in the form of a loud and loving family. And a best friend that is the touchstone and the unexpected heart of this book.
Aiden Kilbourn is a millionaire several times over. He specializes in buying things. Companies, loyalties, skeletal high-born women dripping in jewels and silk. He gets a huge surprise when he meets Franchesca (Frankie) Baranski. Brooklyn born and raised, loud, confident, hard working. And so very proud and headstrong. She is not to be bought. And yet Aiden cannot resist her. She is nothing like all the others, and yet so much more. There is an instant connection, so terms are negotiated, and a casual affair ensues. And that’s when things get interesting. Frankie and Aiden are perfectly matched, both struggling to lead the dance. Both thinking they have the upper hand. Love has other ideas.
This is no typical rich guy/poor girl story. Because Aiden and Frankie are not your typical rich guy and poor girl and Lucy Score is no typical author. This book has belly laughs aplenty, and enough heart to melt the most critical reader. I’ll say it again, this is Lucy Score’s best book yet.
The Worst Best Man
I would like to start off with the fact that there is not enough stars in this galaxy to rate The Worst Best Man so here you go 5 PLUS!!! The Worst Best Man I think is some of Lucy Score’s best work to date. She delivers everything you want in a romantic comedy and more. Every page had me hysterically laughing, swooning, getting pissed off with Frankie and getting all 50 shades in my panties! Aiden Kilbourne is Manhattan’s most eligible billionaire bachelor. As quoted “The man was a freaking marvel. His orgasms probably had orgasms.” The only thing rich about Franchesca aka Frankie is the big heart she carries. Oh Frankie hails from Brooklyn and is a sweetheart but don’t let her kindness fool you. That mouth on her is loud and loaded with witty but honest truth leaving her no problem telling you or anyone how it is. She is beyond beautiful and too smart for her own good. Frankie and Aiden are the bridesmaid and best man to their best friends destination wedding in Barbados. Their story only begins there but it’s one you will want to read over and over.
I don’t even know where to start with this review. To simply say I loved this book is a huge understatement. I adored Frankie and Aiden. Frankie is sassy, stubborn, loyal and smart. She is tough and I loved getting glimpses of her softer side. Aiden is the ultimate playboy billionaire. Watching him fall hard for Frankie was a beautiful thing! The banter in this book is hilarious! Add in some fantastic secondary characters (some I loved and some I wanted to throw in a pool) this book was just absolutely amazing. I know I will be rereading soon!
You know that feeling on Christmas Eve? That anticipation you feel as you lay your head down on your pillow thinking of the awesomeness that awaits you in the morning? That’s me waiting for new Lucy Score books. I have never made a secret of my love for Lucy Score’s work, but this book was even better than what I hoped for. This book is everything. It is rom-com perfection while also being deeply emotional. It is hilarious, sweet, and sassy all tied up in a bow and topped off with the perfect happy ending. I seriously went through all the feels while reading this.
In the beginning, I was laughing so hard I was crying. I mean, this book is so funny! And the characters! There were characters I absolutely loved to hate and characters that found themselves in the most outrageous situations, but I could picture it all as if I was there, and I loved every minute of it. There were also characters I loved to love. Not only did I adore both Aiden and Frankie, I loved Aiden’s mom and Frankie’s entire family. Her mom was a riot, and her brothers were not only perfect, protective older brothers, they were also great friends to both Frankie and Aiden. I also loved Pru and Chip. They all had me on the edge of my seat swooning and waiting to see what would happen. Never before have I read a book that was both this funny and this deeply romantic with the perfect amount of angst and tension.
Frankie and Aiden were completely perfect. In the beginning, it seemed as though Frankie was all fire while Aiden was ice, but there were so many layers to both of them! Frankie is such a strong heroine. She was driven and determined to a fault. She was smart and sassy. And while Aiden was a kijillionaire playboy, there were layers upon layers to peel back on him throughout this story. He was also vulnerable and kind and caring. And the chemistry between these two was off the charts!! They had the most fantastic banter and couldn’t keep their hands off one another. While they tried to fight the attraction, there was no way to ignore it. While they seem like an impossible match at first glance, they are really two puzzle pieces that were made for one another.
I love that while this book begins with a destination wedding gone awry, things don’t end there. We get to follow our characters home and see what things are like in their real lives as well. This is not your cookie cutter billionaire romance. Boy doesn’t just meet girl, sweep her off her feet, and live happily ever after. There were so many twists and turns and layers of emotion in this book that I didn’t want to put it down for even a minute. And just when I thought I knew what was coming, there would be a little surprise waiting for me.
I am “all in” when it comes to Aiden and Frankie. Buy this book. Buy a copy for all your friends while you are at it. You won’t regret it. I absolutely adore everything about The Worst Best Man!
First things first, this book is so good that I started rereading it after finishing it. THAT NEVER HAPPENS, but this book is EMOTIONAL PERFECTION!
A little history of our Hero and heroine.
Frankie: A sassy, stubborn, brilliant girl studying for her MBA. Lives in Brooklynn (which is basically equivalent to the wrong side of the tracks) Her family owns a sandwich shop. She has two brothers, a mother who is desperate for grandchildren, and a father who loves The Price Is Right.
Aiden: PERFECTION! Okay. Okay. So the guy is super sexy and obscenely rich, but WAIT! Don’t hold that against him. HE IS SO MUCH MORE!!!! He is the good guy. Seriously, he doesn’t mess up! YOU WILL LOVE HIM, trust me! He just made his way to #1 book boyfriend EVER!
The story:
We start with an upcoming wedding of Frankie’s best friend, Pru (Pruitt) and Chip. The wedding party is full of snotty, rich, sexy, well-to-do jerks, and Frankie is somehow managing to survive them. Then there is a kidnapping, and an awesome, little school-age felon named Antonio plays a part in the rescue. It’s Lucy Score writing this, would we expect any less? And this is where my review gets tough. Frankie and Aiden have “the connection” you know, the one every couple in all epic love stories have, yeah they have that. It is so strong and this story flows so wonderfully that I was only able to feel the words. Putting the absolute perfection of this story into educated thought is proving to be impossible. Lucy does such a masterful job of conveying Aiden and Frankie’s journey that you feel as if you were on it with them. YOU WANT TO READ THIS BOOK. You will be thanking me, and begging Lucy Score for more.
Lucy had me with the first chapter in this one. I couldn’t put it down. From stripper poles to kidnappings, this book had it all with a perfect HEA too. Frankie is one of my favorite heroines ever!
5 Sparkling, Teasing Perfect Stars

For Those out there who want to know what a 5 star plus Rom/Com reads like…They need to read this book. PERIOD.
You want hysterical situations that will make you laugh out loud, it’s there.
If you want initially, a conflict of stations in life, of ways to think about things, it’s there.
And if you want Chemistry Off The Charts, sexy times verbally, and physically, get ready.
But on top of all the above goodness…
It is the Heart, the way Both Characters are strong and capable.
It was so great. 5
Franchesca Baranski, AKA Frankie, the Brooklynite with the overwhelming family, street smarts, sassy attitude, and a sarcastic comeback to any insult, is the Maid of Honor in her best friend’s wedding, or should the event be called a socialite circus? While the bride and groom chose Aiden Kilbourn as the Best Man, it is anyone’s guess. Aiden Kilbourn is busy ruling the business world in Manhatten. He is too busy to be involved with a woman who can keep his interest longer than two months, that was until he met his unlikely match—a woman who he thought was a pole dancer at first with curves of an hourglass and no holds bar attitude.
This story keeps you entertained from the first page to the last! I need to start reading more of Lucy Score.
laugh out loud funny, smart as heck, sexy as hell! great read!
I was looking for a read that would make me laugh and I knew a Lucy Score book would hit the spot. The Worst Best Man was just what I needed. This was such a hilarious and sexy enemies to lovers slow burn romcom. It had me laughing out loud throughout. I both read and listened to this one and it almost felt like 2 stories in one. The first half was filled with wedding hijinks and certain details gave me lots of Pride and Prejudice vibes. The second half focused more on the progression of Aiden and Frankie’s relationship and reminded me a lot of Pretty Woman. I loved how Frankie always held her own and how she pushed against Aiden’s white knight complex. Choosing to be a Aiden’s partner and equal instead. Frankie’s family was absolutely over the top and a highlight any time they were on the page.
I will admit that I was intimidated by the length of this book (the audio clocks in at almost 12 hours!). I thought the story meandered at times making it feel overly long. The family issues and drama caused by Elliot’s reveal at the end were predictable, but didn’t take away from my enjoyment of the book. Natalie Duke’s narration was fantastic! She pulled off Frankie’s snark and Aiden’s swagger so well. I especially loved the voices she used for the Baranski family. Her comedic timing made the barbs sing and I enjoyed her performance so much. The epilogue brought the story beautifully full circle and was the perfect way to bring things to a close.
*Note: The ebook has a link to an extended epilogue (it takes place a year later) and I definitely recommend it.
Audiobook Review
Overall 4.5 stars
Performance 5 stars
Story 4 stars
I haven’t laughed this hard in a long time! And the dinner-table scene had me laughing AND crying. Partly because I was laughing, but mainly because books that instill that strong sense of family make me cry every time!
My first read from this author, but definitely not my last.
I really loved this book which I admit is different than what I thought it would be. The first third had me laughing helplessly as Frankie and Aiden had to work together to save a marriage. It was so well written and hilarious but also did an amazing job setting the stage for the couple. The last two thirds was more focused on the relationship between the couple but also their families. The supporting cast shone so bright- I adored Frankie and her family and, with the exception of Aiden’s mom, found his family distasteful, demonstrating that Lucy Score has a gift at evoking true emotion with her books. I laughed, I teared up and I swooned. This book is definitely going into my to-be-read-again list.
THE WORST BEST MAN by Lucy Score is where Brooklynn meets Manhattan. Aiden Kilbourn has never met a challenge he couldn’t handle—until he meets Franchesca Baranski, the sassy and independent maid of honor of his friends’ upcoming wedding. First impression is a lasting impression, and Frankie is not impressed with the best man. She holds no barrels when it comes to speaking her mind, and she is like no woman Aiden has ever met. THE WORST BEST MAN is a hilarious tale about how opposite attracts and how two strong personalities from different social backgrounds butt heads regardless of the sizzling chemistry between them. The cast of characters from both families are different as night and day, and yet hilarious. As a contemporary romance author, Lucy Score writes hilarious, comedy-drama situations, sexy chemistry between her leading characters, and dialogues that make you laugh out loud.
