Moving on has never been harder—or so perfectly unpredictable… will allow her to enjoy revisiting her favorite travel-writing destinations, she’s wrong: her PR whiz is too consumed with his own goals to consider her needs.
Mitch Mathis has relied on discipline to achieve his goals, and with his new firm’s success riding on Peyton’s book launch, he must keep her on task. They’re here for business, not pleasure. And Mitch won’t let unbridled desire harm his professional reputation—not again.
When frustrated expectations and attraction throw the tour into chaos, it challenges everything Mitch and Peyton believe about themselves, life, and love, forcing these opposites to consider whether they can embrace the change they need to grow.

Ruthie –
This is the third book in the series, and is undoubtedly the richer for having read them in order. I knew that Peyton’s book would be coming, but it was even better than I could have hoped. It definitely requires tissues – but is at its heart, a very uplifting and hopeful book.
Peyton and Logan’s book about her cancer journey is about to be released and she is going to have to do some tours and readings… even though she really doesn’t want anything much more to do with it. Her trip to Europe with publicist Mitch is going to challenge her stamina and her resolve to do the right thing, and then she meets him… and it is going to be even more difficult as he is everything she never thought she could want again. Very aware of her less than before body, and her vulnerable state of mind, she refuses to acknowledge the chemistry between them, but I think we all know how effective that will be!
I loved this book for the honesty, the value of family, the healing of old wounds, and the promise of a much brighter future for them both. Highly recommend this series to you.

The third book in the Sanctuary Sound series finds Peyton Prescott writing her memoir about her personal journey with breast cancer. Having a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery, Peyton would rather forget the worst time in her life and go back to the carefree girl she used to be. At the insistence of her publisher, Peyton is going on a book tour to Europe to promote her book although her brother Logan will not be able to accompany her due to having to help plan his wedding. Publicist Mitch Mathis is hired by Peyton’s publisher to accompany her on the tour. Taking his responsibilities seriously, Mitch is relying on this tour to make his company successful. After an in office affair turned out bad, he has swore that he will never let his personal feelings interfere with his business ever again. As the tour progresses, Mitch and Peyton’s feelings begin to grow stronger towards one another but can they forget the past and try to make the future brighter for them both? Author Jamie Beck has magically written a beautiful heartfelt series that touches on every emotion! I am anxiously awaiting to see what the extremely talented, Author ,has in store for her readers next!
I have been anxiously waiting for Peyton’s story and Ms. Beck did not disappoint!
THE WONDER OF NOW (Sanctuary Sound Book 3) by Jamie Beck is the third contemporary romance in this trilogy about three friends who dubbed themselves the Lilac Lane League growing up and their lives until they each find their HEAs. This can be read as a standalone, but there is character and back-story crossover.
Peyton Prescott is not the same carefree, world travel blogger she was before her breast cancer. She has survived a double mastectomy, reconstruction surgery and a year of baring her sole through words to go along with the pictures taken by her brother, Logan, a professional photographer, of her personal journey to be published as a book with half the proceeds going to fight cancer. Up until the cancer she led a privileged and spoiled life, but now she must find a way to face her new self in the mirror not just physically, but mentally also.
The first leg of publicity for the book is a tour through Europe. Logan is at home planning his wedding, so the publisher hires a publicist to accompany her.
Mitch Mathis has been responsible and disciplined ever since he lost his father to cancer while in high school. His new company’s success is riding on Peyton’s tour being a success. There are definitely sparks between the two, but Mitch has been burned before in an office romance and refuses to ever let personal feelings interfere with business again.
As the tour progresses, Mitch and Peyton’s attraction grows, but so do expectations, stress and miscommunications. Both need to decide if they are willing to be what the other needs.
All three of these books were about such emotionally strong women, but I especially loved this book. I have known many women who have gone through Peyton’s journey and others who have passed on and this book realistically covers so many of their fears and joys as I witnessed their terrifying and amazing journeys. Mitch and Peyton are a wonderful couple with a complex, flawed and slow burn romance that had my emotions engaged throughout. These characters and this book will stay with me for a long time to come.
I highly recommend this contemporary romance trilogy and for me, they only get stronger as they progress.
Peyton Prescott may have been born into a life of wealth and affluence, but cancer is a great equalizer that doesn’t discriminate. At her brother’s urging, Peyton documented her fight against this dreadful disease while Logan recorded his sister’s journey through photographs. Their finished book is scheduled to release soon, and Peyton is off on a European tour to promote the book. She’s not exactly eager to bare her soul to a roomful of strangers, but her highly organized publicist, Mitch Mathis, has her back and will support her every step of the way.
Gird your hearts, readers, because this story will put it through the paces with multiple tugs and a vast sea of emotions. Fiction or not, a character’s journey through a battle against breast cancer resonates strongly with all of us. It’s not just a story of courage and strength, but an inspiring, uplifting story of growth, renewal, triumph and healing.
The characters are complex and beautifully flawed, making them endearing, relatable and beloved to the reader. They’ll easily find themselves a place in your heart and their story will ensure that you experience everything alongside them. This is one of those books that leaves an indelible mark and will stay with you long after the last page. Get your copy of this emotional, uplifting, phenomenal read today. You won’t regret it!
*I read an early edition of this book freely and voluntarily, having made no commitment to provide feedback and receiving no compensation of any kind from any source.
Book 3 in the Sanctuary Sound Series. This story follows survivor Peyton as she starts her PR trip for her and her brother, Logan, book that follows Peyton’s breast cancer journey thru chemo. Peyton is embarking on an European book tour to promote their book, along with Mitch, her PR guru.
This book feels more like a stand alone, then a series. But, to learn the emotional baggage of the characters more intently, you should read the previous two. Beck does a great job of making you feel Peyton’s fear, regret and uncertainty of her situation.
I received an ARC of this book, opinion is mine alone.
4 1/2 stars. This is such a wonderful book in a series I have thoroughly enjoyed. I’ve been waiting for Peyton’s book and I knew it was going to be amazing yet hard to read at times but that it would also be a heartwarming and touching story, and I was right. Jamie Beck brings us deep into the thoughts and feelings that Peyton went through and still goes through because of her cancer and how her life has changed because of it. It is beautifully written, very emotional and totally satisfying. Mitch and Peyton find something in each other that neither was even looking for but turns out to be exactly what the other needed.
A perfect story for Peyton Prescott. Peyton has been on a journey with her health and everything that was involved which ultimately led her and Logan to writing her book. I feel like I’ve been there with her on her journey through the ups and downs and the laughter and tears. I was happy to see Peyton slowly coming back into her own and I was really glad that Mitch came into the picture and ultimately was what Peyton truly needed. I loved reading about all the fun places that were mentioned during the European book tour and watching the two of them become a team during this time. This book was great from beginning to end but I truly loved the epilogue. It truly brought things back to where they belonged for three amazing ladies, who’ve gone through their own personal demons but have come out better and stronger for it. My favorite line in this book was, ‘We all have our flaws. That’s what makes us human, right? Truly a great story.
I was selected to receive an early copy of this book from NetGalley and the author in exchange for an honest review.
This book was amazingly written and takes the reader on an emotional ride. Peyton has recently gone through a breast cancer diagnosis and everything that goes with it. Her brother (Logan) and her documented the experience in a memoir – this process is captured in the previous book
The Promise of Us. In this book, it is time for Peyton and Logan to promote their work. A wonderful relationship develops between Peyton and her publicist.
I absolutely loved this book but can see how it may be difficult for some readers to handle if they are going through a cancer scare – but hopefully they can see through to the uplifting and powerful message of true love and acceptance. The scene in chapter 20 between Claire and Mitch left me bawling my eyes out! Oh, the emotional feels!!!!
Jamie Beck is an amazing Word Smith that writes books that you will want to read over and over again!
This is the third in the Lilac Lane League series of books that centers around lifelong friends Steffi, Claire and Peyton. All three women are dealing with the ramifications of a traumatic physical event and moving on with their life. We met Peyton in book one and she had caused a rift between the friends when she ran off with Claire’s fiancé Todd. When Peyton was diagnosed with breast cancer, Todd dumped her. During her treatments, she and her photographer brother Logan put together a book of her journey. She is now going on a European book tour with Mitch Mathis, the PR rep for her book. He is a starting a new PR firm and ensuring Peyton’s book is a successes important. Getting involved with his client is not on his agenda, unfortunately their mutual attraction messes with his plan. Both Mitch and Peyton have a lot of issues they have to work through, but the payoff was worth it. This book deals with a lot of tough subjects, cancer, betrayal and forgiveness, and does it so well. This was a great conclusion to an interesting series. I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.
This was the culmination of this series and left me with a sigh and all the feels! Peyton has survived a double mastectomy, reconstructive surgery, chemotherapy, and writing a book and soul-baring pictures with her brother Logan and now is setting off on a book tour. Traveling used to be her life but she is not looking forward to this European tour. Her companion, Mitch, is not comfortable with traveling and is a task master. The chemistry is immediate between these two but they try to deny it but some things cannot be denied. Mitch has qualms about getting involved, especially because she is a client, and a cancer survivor after his father’s quick demise. Watching these two come together while traveling was fun and watching Mitch come out of his shell was something to behold. Will he follow her all the way back home when she flees? This was a great ending to this series!
I read the first two Sanctuary Sound books prior to reading this final in the series. I enjoyed each of them and I think the second book is my favorite, but this 3rd book is a gem. While the first two books had the location focus in Sanctuary Sound, this book mostly took place away from that area. At first, I did not appreciate that change, but as time went on in the story, I saw the importance of the two main characters building a relationship away from all the influences of their friends and family.
In this book, the reader gets a small glimpse of what it is like to be a survivor of breast cancer. It was very insightful and heartbreaking.
I definitely recommend this wonderful series.
What a wonderful conclusion to this series about three friends with this, Peyton’s story. Her reputation was a little murky when the reader is first introduced to her. However, in this book we learn more about her as she battles cancer, which no one deserves. There is more to Peyton as she is redeemed in her book.
Years ago Peyton started a relationship with her best friend Claire’s ex boyfriend only he wasn’t actually an ex. It ruined her friendship with Claire, then when Peyton is diagnosed with breast cancer the boyfriend dumps her because he can’t deal.
Fast forward a couple of years and Peyton is in remission, Claire has moved on, their friendship is starting to heal, and Peyton has written a book about her journey with her brother and is set to go on a publicity tour. Enter Mitchell, her publishing company liaison.
The author has dealt with the feelings a woman would have going through all of these emotions. The guilt from hurting her best friend, the joy of revisiting places she loved before the diagnosis, the possibility of new romance and all the encompasses, the fear of the cancer coming back, and the pain in sharing her story in public. All of these feelings have been very accurately examined, in my opinion, and I read the story with interest in the subject matter.
This book is part three in a three part series and all are available on Kindle Unlimited. You don’t have to read all three, but I recommend you read them in order.
Hands down – the best one in the series! Definitely recommend all 3 books.
Thank you #netgalley and #montlakeromance for the eARC.
This series is about a Lilac Lane League, a trio of best girlfriends, who have gone through so much in their lives, heartbreaks, tragedies, financial hardship, betrayals, and sickness. This book is a romance between Peyton Prescott, a woman who grew up with a silver spoon, a trust fund baby with a literary legendary great grandfather, and Mitchell Mathis, a hardworking, determined and responsible publisher who grew up in a complete opposite environment from Peyton.
Peyton went through a double mastectomy following her breast cancer diagnosis. Her brother Logan had convinced her to write a memoir while he documented her journey via photographs (book 2 The Promise of Us was about Logan and Peyton’s childhood friend Claire). This book took us through the book tour in Europe and US that Peyton went on to promote her book, together with her publisher Mitch. And that’s how they got to know each other at both professional and personal levels.
My heart went out to Peyton. Her story gave me a great sense of the rough paths cancer survivors had to go through. Her inner thoughts and feelings before, during, and after cancer treatment, how cancer had changed her, her insecurities, her constant worries of the future, her strength and vulnerabilities, her sacrifices for those she loved, her compassion to help others who were dealing with the same struggles… Everything about Peyton felt so real and her stories were heartbreaking and emotional. Even after all she has gone through, yet she’s tried to look for silver linings in everything in her life.
Mitch was the man of honor who took on the role of the father figure in his family. While he realized their upbringings were two worlds apart, he found something deep and familiar in Peyton, a smart, passionate, caring and loving woman. After getting on the wrong footing in the beginning of the tour, they’ve compromised and slowly developed strong feelings for each other. She learned to be more responsible and understanding while he learned to live the moments and enjoy himself.
Jamie Beck’s characters have always been real and relatable, and I’ve always loved her beautiful, sweet, and gentle style. The Sanctuary Sound series particularly highlights the strong women who overcome life tragedies with undying support from their partners, friends and families. I really enjoyed revisiting the previous couples Steffi/Ryan and Claire/Logan. It was not heavy on the sex scene, yet it was lovely and tender, and you can feel the emotions from both characters. I love this book so much and relate to it personally (my mother is a breast cancer survivor). Highly recommended!
*ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.*
So beautiful.
We have Peyton and Mitch; she’s a author on a book tour and he’s the guy helping keeping all this thing on track.
Obviously Peyton is much more than just an author, she was dealt a hard hand in life, battling stage 4 cancer, basically with just her brother for the ride and then was able to write a book about it. I can’t even think how hard that must be, to relive that chapter of your life and have people all over the world to read it? Not me, lol.
Mitch is very goal oriented, so he’s very focused in his job, even though it doesn’t sit well with Peyton, who’s overwhelmed by this entire experience.
As they spend more time together, feelings start to change and surface, and little by little they start understand each other. And isn’t what this is all about? Understanding the other, without judgement?
This was a very lovely read, one that stays with you long after finishing it. Very much like Ms. Beck’s other books.
*Thank you to the author for providing a copy for which I’m giving my honest opinion*
Beck brings readers back th Sanctuary Sound with Peyton’s story.
After surviving breast cancer and the aftermath of treatment, Peyton is reliving it all on a book tour with her very attractive publicist.
This is a wonderfully emotional story that readers will fall for. I highly recommend this book to fans of the contemporary romance genre.
Profound and emotional, this serious romance tackles finding love after breast cancer. Peyton is a beautiful woman who used to have no trouble attracting men, and though she’s made some bad decisions in her past, fighting for her life changed her perspective on a lot of things. During her illness, she let her photographer brother document the whole process, and now it’s time for a book to be released that tells the whole story. To others, this should be a celebration of her success, but Peyton doesn’t feel like a woman who is fully healed. Her cancer left not only physical but emotional scars, and though she finds herself inconveniently attracted to her PR guy, Mitch, she’s not sure that she’s ready for romance. Mitch is still reeling from a failed office romance, so he’s doing everything in his power to resist his attraction to Peyton, but hearing more about her story just draws him to the woman she’s become.
I’m not going to lie, this is a pretty heavy book. It’s focused on breast cancer, self-worth and healing from start to finish, so there’s not a lot of lightness. I did love the relationship between Peyton and Mitch (and would’ve loved even more of it). Mitch is such a great guy, steadfast, patient, and he balances out Peyton perfectly. It’s a slow burn romance that takes a little while to get brewing, but I loved the payoff for these two. The heaviness definitely weighed me down at times, but it’s a stark and realistic portrayal of something women around the world face every day – finding the strength to move forward after illness, and learning that you’re worth it. Thank you, NetGalley, for providing me an ARC. I am voluntarily leaving a review of this complex and emotional romance.
This book was so inspiring. It was beautifully written and so emotionally compelling. Peyton is unsure of herself as a woman after undergoing cancer treatment. She compares herself to how she was before and feels she is lacking . Mitch has never really dealt with his feelings about his father’s death after battling cancer. He’s been the linchpin for his mother and sister and has essentially put his life on hold to care for both of them. Their mutual attraction for each other is captivating and you can relate to the character’s feelings. I loved this book .
If you followed the Sanctuary Sound series until now then you are familiar with who Peyton is. If not get caught up and feel the full impact of The Wonder of Now. This book and its feels. Pass the tissue and hold on tight. Peyton is everything and so much more in this one. She is a survivor and yet you still get this feeling with her that there is more to her. I love how she shines in this one. You get the good, the bad and the ugly. When Mitch enters the picture you can’t help but hope that he is what is missing with Peyton. I love Mitch. He is a hard worker and yet loves his family so. He is a fixer and peacemaker. Throughout The Wonder of Now, you see a wonderful transformation in both Mitch and Peyton. They have this slow-building relationship that you can’t help but love. I have to say this is my favorite book in the series. I laughed some and got misty-eyed while reading this one. I couldn’t put it down.
