“Absolutely gripping.” —Louise Penny
For readers of Gillian Flynn and Tana French comes one of the decade’s most anticipated debuts, to be published in thirty-six languages around the world and already in development as a major film from Fox: a twisty, powerful Hitchcockian thriller about an agoraphobic woman who believes she witnessed a crime in a neighboring house.
It isn’t paranoia if it’s really happening . . .
Anna Fox lives alone—a recluse in her New York City home, unable to venture outside. She spends her day drinking wine (maybe too much), watching old movies, recalling happier times . . . and spying on her neighbors.
Then the Russells move into the house across the way: a father, a mother, their teenage son. The perfect family. But when Anna, gazing out her window one night, sees something she shouldn’t, her world begins to crumble—and its shocking secrets are laid bare.
What is real? What is imagined? Who is in danger? Who is in control? In this diabolically gripping thriller, no one—and nothing—is what it seems.
Twisty and powerful, ingenious and moving, The Woman in the Window is a smart, sophisticated novel of psychological suspense that recalls the best of Hitchcock.

I really enjoyed the plot with all of the twists and turns. The author kept me guessing!
Definitely a quick, but somewhat disturbing read. The “twists” were pretty surprising. Very much like Gone Girl or Girl on the Train.
Short chapters which make you keep reading one after the other, wondering what is coming next!
I enjoyed the characters and surprises with this book. Some I guessed at and other surprises I did not see coming
Fantastic. Great writing
I rate a mystery book if I can figure out the person or the murderer before the book tells. I couldn’t figure out who the actual killer was until a couple Pages before the book revealed it. I thought it was very well written.
At first I was just confused but found myself reading just one more chapter trying to figure it out. I didn’t figure nothing out before it was revealed. Wonderfully odd story!!
Great mystery. Enjoyed it from the beginning page!
There were several twists that caught me my surprise.
This book was awesome!!! Couldn’t put it down- intriguing and funny and very endearing characters- will definitely look for more from this author.
Book editor turned author A.J. Finn sees an opening in the popular market for noir fiction, so he pens this story of a woman trapped in her home because of crippling agoraphobia. She watches her neighbors, even building stories about them and their comings and goings. One night she sees something she wasn’t meant to see, or did she imagine it?
Although I enjoyed this book, I don’t think it was nearly as unpredictable (even though I checked that box) as The Girl on The Train. Everything falls flat when compared to that book!
Well written, easy to read and suspenseful.
Very well written.
This book was a rather slow starter but, once it got going i couldn’t put it down!
An emotional book about real life for some as they suffer a tragic loss!
ending was a surprise that I never saw coming~
The Woman in the Window had me hooked from the start. I was surprised by where the story ended up.
I literally just finished this book. I hated for it to end, but couldn’t wait to unravel the rest of the story. I stayed up very late reading this book, and left dishes and other things wait so that I could pick it up again. One of my favorite reads, and I usually read 2-3 books a week. Loved all the characters, very well written. Definitely did not see the ending coming. I plan on passing this book to a friend ( I have the hard cover ) and telling her to pass it on to whoever loves a great read. And tell anybody that hasn’t read it to get a copy.
Does what any good beach read should do … makes itself hard to put down, so just hang on and enjoy the ride. Page-turning thriller told by an unreliable narrator – my favourite kind. In the same genre as Gone Girl, Girl on the Train and In a Dark, Dark Wood.
Fantastic writing! Keeps your attention! What a twister the story is! You will never guess what’s next! Fabulous writer! She deserves a 10!!!!
