“Absolutely gripping.” —Louise Penny
For readers of Gillian Flynn and Tana French comes one of the decade’s most anticipated debuts, to be published in thirty-six languages around the world and already in development as a major film from Fox: a twisty, powerful Hitchcockian thriller about an agoraphobic woman who believes she witnessed a crime in a neighboring house.
It isn’t paranoia if it’s really happening . . .
Anna Fox lives alone—a recluse in her New York City home, unable to venture outside. She spends her day drinking wine (maybe too much), watching old movies, recalling happier times . . . and spying on her neighbors.
Then the Russells move into the house across the way: a father, a mother, their teenage son. The perfect family. But when Anna, gazing out her window one night, sees something she shouldn’t, her world begins to crumble—and its shocking secrets are laid bare.
What is real? What is imagined? Who is in danger? Who is in control? In this diabolically gripping thriller, no one—and nothing—is what it seems.
Twisty and powerful, ingenious and moving, The Woman in the Window is a smart, sophisticated novel of psychological suspense that recalls the best of Hitchcock.

There were at least three “I didn’t see that coming “ moments in this book
A very intriguing story line and interesting characters.
Great summer read. More movie material than good fiction .
Seriously worth the read!
This book is a roller coaster of suspense and relief. For any one that liked the movie “Rear Window” voyeurism and murder are the only commonalities. The main character flaws make you question what is happening. But suspense is kept up throughout the book.
Make time for this book
Really enjoyed this book.
Loved this book…I figured out a few of the twists, but had no idea about the ending!! Excellent read!
I liked this book a lot. It definitely held my attention. More than one really good twist!
When you meet the main character she is not very sympathetic. You quickly get involved in her day to day life and her story. Good twists and surprises. Very enjoyable.
Brilliant suspenseful with a real kicker of a twist
Plot was too slow.
If I didn’t know better, I would have thought that Hitchcock wrote this book. I love books like this where you think you have it all figured out but then there is a plot twist that keeps you in suspense until the very end.
Unpredictable. many plot twists.
Not a great book It’s typical lacks originality
Loved this book-was entertained the whole way through!
loved this book- read it in one day!
I listened to the book and liked this smart, quick woman. As the story unfolded, my heart went out to her. Love the twists as the book progresses. Her interest in old movies caused me to check Netflix and add others to my wishlist. I really liked this book. Pulled me in from the start.
Amazing thriller!
Fantastic
One of the best books I ever read.
