“Absolutely gripping.” —Louise Penny
For readers of Gillian Flynn and Tana French comes one of the decade’s most anticipated debuts, to be published in thirty-six languages around the world and already in development as a major film from Fox: a twisty, powerful Hitchcockian thriller about an agoraphobic woman who believes she witnessed a crime in a neighboring house.
It isn’t paranoia if it’s really happening . . .
Anna Fox lives alone—a recluse in her New York City home, unable to venture outside. She spends her day drinking wine (maybe too much), watching old movies, recalling happier times . . . and spying on her neighbors.
Then the Russells move into the house across the way: a father, a mother, their teenage son. The perfect family. But when Anna, gazing out her window one night, sees something she shouldn’t, her world begins to crumble—and its shocking secrets are laid bare.
What is real? What is imagined? Who is in danger? Who is in control? In this diabolically gripping thriller, no one—and nothing—is what it seems.
Twisty and powerful, ingenious and moving, The Woman in the Window is a smart, sophisticated novel of psychological suspense that recalls the best of Hitchcock.

This book keeps you guessing until the end. It was enthralling, and a real page-turner. I was totally surprised by the ending.
brought me memories of Alfred Hickock “Rear Window”
This was indeed the best psychological thriller I’ve read in a long time. It got me from page one. Every time I thought I knew what would happen next I’d be wrong. So I’d keep reading. It was so good!!! Highly recommend & can’t wait for his next book
I really enjoyed reading this book. It keeps you guessing what’s going on all throughout.
Loved the main character- the “Woman”
Although this book is over 400 pages, it is a fast read. A real page turner that keeps you guessing until the end.
I thought this was an excellent book. I did not figure out the end in advance, which says a lot. Very suspenseful.
This book was described to me as really good and a must read, so I did. But, I didn’t like the author’s writing style and thought it was a mediocre story.
A very good read. Keep me guessing.
Hard to put down!
Great book . A psychological thriller.
Loved it! Kept my interest until the end.
Well we have Girl in the Window and The Woman in the Window, both good, but this one topped the list. It was one of those were you think you have it figured out, then well, maybe not. I can see why they’re making a movie out of it, if you like suspense, this is a good one!
Seems there were too many weak people who couldn’t really change, but it was interesting enough that I wanted to finish it.
I find it hard to read a book where none of the characters are likable or sympathetic. This book was predictable and similar to The Girl on the Train. I thought is was a waste of time.
Too much like woman in the train
It will keep you interested and anxious to find out the ending. You will go back and forth on what you think is happening throughout the book. Hopefully you will like the ending.
See the world through the eyes of a very sick person. I highly recommend this book.
It kept me wanting more
Although I found the book kept my interest, I did not care for any of the characters. I found the alcohol consumption to be very off putting, even considering the reason. I also found her support group to be extremely non-supportive, and not believable, given that they are healthcare professionals.
