If you like shifter books, you will love this one.
This is book two of The Wolfe City Pack series and the main character, Dana, is called back to Wolfe City by her Aunt Heather with news that her father is seriously ill and in hospital. Dana lives with her friend Rebecca, who is a tiger shifter and takes the call initially, when Dana baulks upon seeing who was calling. She ran away from the man she was due to marry, Tony, because of cold feet, thoughts about the future or maybe the tale someone told her about her soon to be husband, but she hasn’t been back since and broke her father’s heart at the time. Now she has to go back, or she might not see her father alive again and she has suddenly realised how much she misses her family, but she is frightened of seeing Tony and wants to just avoid the problems she left behind! Only problem is that they have both known since they were teenagers, that they were each other’s mate and still think about each other and dare I say it, love each other, no matter how much Dana wants to refuse this.
Tony owns the restaurant in town, with Adam as his manager, the wolf shifter from the first book, who met his mate Amy by accident as she was passing through town. When Tony is stressed or needs to think, he loves to cook as it relaxes him. He broke Dana’s heart two years ago when she was told he was involved with another woman, but everything was not as it seemed. They both should have fought to be together and learnt that very important lesson, that good communication is the key to a happy life together. Rebecca has always told her this and has come along to support Dana as she visits Wolfe City and her family again. Lots may have changed, but Tony certainly hasn’t and the two can’t miss each other in the small town, especially when Tony is bringing her parents food in the hospital and also gets his friend and wolf pack alpha Brandon to help out. The next tale is of Rebecca and Brandon, who hit it off when they meet at the hospital and I can’t wait to read it. Short stories of fated mates in a shifter town. I received an ARC copy of this boo from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

Secrets, lies and a runaway bride…but they are mates and nothing can break that
The Wolf’s Mate is the second book in The Wolfe City Pack series and is the story of Tony and Dana. These two are fated mates and there is no denying it. But two years ago Dana became a runaway bride leaving Tony standing at the alter. She had been told a lie that she believed and just left Wolfe City, her family, her friends and a heartbroken Tony. But when she receives a call from her aunt about her father she has to come home again. The only problem is that Tony is the first person she sees when she gets to the hospital to see her father. She may try to run again but Tony will chase to until he gets some answers. He is not going to let her get away from him again this time.
I liked this story but it annoyed me that Dana would believe what someone told her and not even talk with Tony about it before she ran away. Then when she tries to run again instead of discuss what happened I really just wanted to tie her down to a chair and make her talk with Tony. Will they ever communicate and gets things resolved. They may not like the answers to the questions but at least they will have the answers.

This is a fun, heartwarming story that really focuses on what it means to be in “a adult relationship”, and how the “key” to being in a relationship, not just with a significant other but with EVERYONE, is communication.
While this story is lighthearted and is sure to bring a smile to your face as well as a tear to your eye, it does have serious underlying issues as several of Ms. Stern’s books seem to have, which makes them even better in my opinion.
So, find a cozy corner, a warm blanket, and a cup of something delicious to sip on as you sit on back and take a little get away with The Wolf’s Mate. You’ll love every minute of it, I guarantee it!
