It should have just been a simple vacation, away from everyone and everything to clear my head. But I soon realized I wasn’t alone. He stalked me, hunted me. I should’ve run faster, tried harder. But the truth was I liked him chasing me.Wolf was a ruthless man, his way of living barbaric. Now he had me in his off-the-grid cabin, what he deemed my new home. I was his new wife, would have his babies. would have his babies.
I was his irrevocably.
I shouldn’t have felt arousal. But I did.
He’s not going to let me escape … but then again, maybe I don’t want to.
Warning: This one has bite to it—even if it’s NOT paranormal! As per the usual … it’s short and fast and pretty unrealistic … but it gets right down to the juicy bits. It’s one of those stories that will have you wanting to find your own Wolf in the woods.

Another great short novella by author, Jenika Snow 🙂
Ruby just wanted to be away from the read world and enjoy her two weeks vacation, filled with peace, no one to bother her and alone with nature. A perfect combo for a harmonious vacation for her, yet I bet she never thought she would find the love of her life, a mountain man, who from the moment he saw her in town, was captivated by her beauty and determined in claiming her as his 🙂
I loved their chemistry together and how well they completed each other in every way 😉 They had a lot in common; they both wanted to live simple, in peace away from any drama, with nature. Luckily, Ruby was a determined young woman and was tenacious to show Wolf that she may be a city girl but she can also become one with the solitary and peaceful mountain and become Wolf’s mate and live happily ever after with her man <3
This story is mainly about Ruby and Wolf, two people looking for something like being alone, in peace and instead find each other and in each other, they find forever <3
I liked their epilogue and I hope Bear gets his own story too! I'm intrigued about him and I bet the lucky girl who captures his heart will be the luckiest girl in the mountains as Ruby is with her hunky man, Wolf 😉 <3
Wolf leads a life of solitude in the mountains and he’s noticed Ruby in town before. Ruby decides to take a two week vacation up in the mountains to just get away from everything for awhile. One day when she’s out hiking Wolf makes his presence known and Ruby’s not sure what to expect. So she decides to head back to her cabin, only she ends up falling and hits her head. When she comes to, she is in Wolf’s bed in his cabin. There is definitely sexual tension between these two and Wolf is determined to make Ruby his. Grab this wonderfully written short story and find out if Ruby submits to Wolf or runs away. Definitely a must read.

Mountain Man captures his woman
Ruby goes into the mountains off the grid for a well deserved holiday….when she comes across Wolf – a man she’s seen in town on multiple occasions. They have an instant chemistry and when he sees her he knows she’s his
This story was a short insta-lust story. With the title I thought it was a paranormal story but it was a mountain man’s story, which was a nice surprise
THE WOLF’S CAPTURE
Wolf is a mountain man…don’t want people on his mountain…don’t want to leave it…but he’s had his eye on Ruby, a young woman in town….and he wants to move her to his mountain……When Ruby rents a cabin in the mountains, Wolf makes his move and sets out to make her his…and she never stood a chance….This is a hot little Jenika Snow novella…and when I say that….if you’ve never read one, trust me, it’s a good thing…if you have read one…well…you already know…
I did like this book but there were so many things you have to look past to enjoy it.
Ruby is a woman who just wants a vacation so she rents a cabin in the woods. For some reason she just really wanted to go rustic.
Wolf is a man who lives in the mountains but goes into the cities a few times for supplies. This is where he has seen Ruby.
While the story is hot, it was a little too instalove for me. Without giving anything away, I just felt like common sense went by the wayside and I couldn’t get over it.
The heat was on fire and the growly possessiveness of wolf was on point.
Growly, Grumbly Perfection… Author Jenika Snow is quickly becoming my favorite of the alpha driven, down-and-dirty novellas. I read this book as part of the newly released “The Capture Box Set” containing her rough and rumbly mountain men stories, “The Wolf’s Capture” and “The Bear’s Capture” are impeccable examples of why! These two tales of neighboring isolation craving loners, Wolf and Bear, both rough and raw in their own ways, both full of obsessive need and possessive desires to claim and keep the women they individually crave. And their women, Ruby and Susie, twenty-somethings, both a bit lost in life, searching for more meaning and purpose, drawn to the dominant nature that are the solitude searching men of their small town’s mountain. They are both pure, unadulterated specimens of Snow firmly in her literary elements.
Snow is the queen of the primal, possession driven, alpha mate. And her stories never disappoint.
Yes, both in this set are a bit far-fetched and fanciful. Yes, the almost stalker level possessiveness, and pure, alpha-male, level of mine-ness perhaps a bit much for some readers to handle. But for darker souls like me who crave a strong, unbending, and unapologetic specimen of masculinity. For readers who like characters not afraid of embracing their dominant and submissive sides, willing to negotiate and navigate a clear power exchange in order to fulfill desires wanted by both. These stories are perfection.
I personally preferred Wolf to Bear as Wolf’s story is most definitely edgier and more defiantly dominant than the other, which for me, was a bit of a disappointment. Bear seems almost tame in comparison. However, personal taste aside, both stories are great, quick reads, and were an absolute joy to pass a few hours with.

Hot, sexy, and full of passion.
Wolf hunted and saved Ruby. He took her to his cabin and never let her go. Instant attraction took over and from that poi mint on Wolf never stops claiming Ruby as his.
I wish the story was longer.
This was a fast, insta-love story between Wolf, who lives in the mountains off the grid and Ruby, the girl who wanted to get away from it all! The characters were predictable, but that was okay. I enjoyed this book a lot. When he cares for her after an accident, the instant love is so thick you can literally cut it with a knife. Even still Wolf is very caring and loving with her. Great story, great characters.
Ruby headed away for her vacation, she loved solitude but was lonely. Setting away to a cabin with no power or running water but Ruby want to go off the grid for a while, and let the stress go away for a while.
Ruby has the feeling of being watched and when on a walk, Wolf Jagger makes himself known to her, although there was something that made Ruby want to turn and go back to Wolf she fought it and headed back to the cabin.
Wolf knows that he wants Ruby and has seen her in town, but when he sees her at the cabin he knows it’s fate, and he’s going to stop at nothing to make her his, he sees the arousal in her eyes but needs her to say she’s his.
Ruby can’t deny what she feels for Wolf and the way he makes her feel, she knows he’s not going to let her go, but with he makes her feel, she doesn’t think she wants to go anywhere.
This is a very short story. Not much of a story at all. Mostly a guy takes a girl and screws her brains out. Then the girl decides that she can’t live without him/his penis and never leaves.
I am not sure if I liked this story or didn’t as there wasn’t much to it at all. So it is up to you if you want to read it, to be honest.
Woah!
What I can say, this is an insta-everything, sexy, beyond over the top, seriously hot mountain man and his (willing) captive short story.
Ruby feels she needs an escape, and a quiet, secluded cabin in the woods far removed from people so she to clear her mind from the daily grind of city life is where she heads.
Though she isn’t alone for long. She can feel eyes watching her wherever she goes, but instead of the instant fear or fight/flight instinct she should have, she feels a little excited.
The moment Wolf’s eyes land on Ruby an instant and primal urge take’s over to make her his at any and all cost.
It’s hard to review short stories like this one without giving away every little detail and spoiling all the steamy hotness, and boy is there a lot, for everyone else.
My only complaint is that, its a short story. Even though this story was completed and all wrapped up in a nice little bow, I really would have loved to have had a little more with these two, they are so easy to get addicted to.
So I enjoyed this book for what it is, the problem I had ultimately was there wasn’t much of it. I recognize that it is a novella and totally knew that going in but it felt short even for a novella and I think that there is so much promise in this story that it could have easily (says the non-writer, eep) been a full length novel. There is so much backstory to be had, so much angst, (even though I typically hate it) drama, and character development that I would have loved to see. The thing about it all is really this is a book with so much potential and I simply wanted more.
Wolf is an over the top Alpha male, but not the arse-hole kind, just the I am the master of my universe and you are my queen kind. Ruby is a sweet, though not naive woman, who is looking to escape from the hustle and bustle of the world and just be for a bit. Wolf’s seen her in town before, but now that she’s in his woods, she’s all his. This is pretty much an insta-love romance, packed with some intense moments, (that could have gone dark quickly if given the chance) and some pretty heavy swoon worthy moments.
If you are looking for a super quick, waiting in the Drs office for an appointment and want to finish the book before your name’s called kinda read, grab this one up. Don’t go into this book looking for more than what it is, the author even gives us the low-down in her *warning*, take heed of that, she’s not joking. It’s a great way to pass the time and leave you a little curious if another book of the same nature is in the works. While I wish there was more to this story, I will totally pick up another book *Ahem Bear* if it gets published.
Despite the name this was not a paranormal romance. This book was very short. Ruby is on a two week vacation to decompress instead of a fancy resort she vacations in what she thought was going to be a cozy quiet cabin. Wolf sees Ruby setting up in her cabin and decides that she will be his so he stalks her thinking of how to make her his. Finding his prey in the woods Wolf ends up scaring Ruby, she gets injured giving Wolf the perfect in to keep his women. A hot short read with a sweet epilogue. By Tiffany
The Wolf’s Capture is a standalone Novella. Since it is a Novella things happen pretty fast and is a HOT insta, insta-love story.
Ruby is 23 and ready for a break. She rents a cabin with no amenities. She is just ready to get out of the fast paced world. Wolf Jagger startles Ruby while she is out hiking. She turns tail and as she is trying to get back to her cabin she falls and hits her head. Wolf takes advantage of her while she is down and takes her to his cabin. Like I said things get hot and heavy pretty fast.
Sometimes this size book is just the right size when you are between books. The Wolf’s Capture is an enjoyable fast paced book to read. I give it 4 stars and am looking forward to The Bear’s Capture coming in August.
4 Stars Wolf & Ruby Review
Jenika Snow is the master are MFD (Meet, F*ck, Done) stories and The Wolf’s Capture is no different. It is seriously a super quick read, with no real storyline, backstory or development of characters, because you’re not in the story long enough to care. It is sexy as hell with the most alpha male you could imagine. If you are looking for 60 minutes of escapism with some hot steamy smut, this is the book for you.
I find myself getting more and more disappointed with each book this author puts out.
When I first discovered her books I was ecstatic.
Alpha hero who is all about the heroine.
Sometimes a little drama, but nothing major.
She writes a wide variety of genres so no matter what you can usually find something to wet your appetite.
However….This one was a big disappointment. Just like the last (I think) 4 books I read previously by this author.
They all seem to be following a pattern now. There is no originality to them when I swear I read this same storyline in a previous book. Well if I could say there was any story in this novella.
One of the worse habits I’ve noticed this author does is she spends 4 almost 5 chapters on fore play before getting to the sexy scenes. I don’t need every detail spelled out for me with the fore play. I also don’t want to reread the same thing over again, just written differently.
Ruby and Wolf are looking oh so good and are everything this girl could want. Ruby needed to plug and escape to recharge her batteries, so a sojourn into the woods with her supplies and cabin sound like just the ticket. She expected peace, quiet, and solitude and for the most part that’s exactly what she got until Wolf showed up. She has seen him around town when he was there for supplies. A solitary man that was as gruff and mysterious as he was handsome. The moment Ruby stepped into his domain all bets were off. Wolf was ready to claim her. He wanted to bring to his cabin and make her his there was no denying it, but would she want to stay forever?

This book is not what I was expecting!
This is a quick read about Ruby and Wolf and it’s really hot. Ruby is finally taking a vacation and has decided to go “off the grid” and relax. Wolf has been living that way for quite a while. Now he just has to convince Ruby to stay longer than a vacation.
This is well written and developed and keeps your attention through to the very end.
