I never needed anyone. Not until he saved my life and turned my world upside down.Men were always causing me unnecessary trouble. Then I literally stumbled into a man who proved to be so much more. He’s infuriating. He’s impossible. For all of the frustration, he is impossibly compassionate and kind. As a spy, I shouldn’t trust him. He isn’t human. You would know that by looking at him. Those … human. You would know that by looking at him.
Those silver tress. The sculptured abs.
His looks like an angel. But there is nothing angelic about him.
I’m drawn to everything he is.
He needs a mate, and he is very picky. Now I am his captive.
After one night, I can’t imagine life without him.
Is there even a life for me without my wolf shifter?
Author’s Note: This is a steamy stand alone romance with a HEA. Intended for 18+

I’m not a girl that needs a man, but in this situation I find myself needing one. Men always to seem to cause more trouble then they are worth. I swear unblemished upon him and he is infuriating and compassionate at the same time. Being a spy I shouldn’t trust him, but I can’t help myself. He needs a mate and he isn’t letting me go, is this a good idea, I don’t know but it sure feels right.
This is interesting take on a wolf shifter romance that I have read for sure. It gives a different perspective into a shifter romance. I am definitely looking forward to the next book.

The Wolf Prisoner by Lisa Daniels is a part of the Prisoner of Scythia series. This book starts when a servant named Joslyn is captured and thrown into a jail cell with a man who grabbed her in an alley while being chased by guards. The man named Bryce, who is her captor takes care of her and treats her better than anyone else ever has. This story is a sweet romance between a human and a shifter where trust is earned and love blooms during forced captivity. I loved these characters and the way that Bryce treated Joslyn. This is a wonderfully entertaining shifter human romance. The Wolf Prisoner is an enchanting captive mate love story.
While this story has only ten chapters, it has successfully brought out each characters with a good depth. I was rooting for them to have life smile for them as I empathize and live through them.

A highly entertaining, action packed and engaging adventure filled with danger, secrets, shifters and undeniable passion…. was a great read from beginning to end. I really enjoyed all the witty banter, interesting charters and emotionally thrilling twists.
This is quite an amazing wolf shifter fantasy! I really liked it although I felt cheated by that ending. Yes these two protagonists are together but there are many questions that Bryce did not sufficiently answer. Why was he really there? For whom? Where did he come from? Inquiring minds need to know, so I will be waiting on the next book because I am sure this story is not over.

This story was very different than other shifter stories that I have read before. It was a totally different world building story, not futuristic, not from the past, just totally different. Different countries and cultures. You get to know the two characters in this story quite well as they interact. Totally different yet really great.
Joclyn is a spy for her country, yet still feels that she is not really doing much for the cause. She was captured, enslaved, beaten and mistreated for quite some time. She has lost track of what is happening in her home country, she is too busy trying to just survive. She gets awoken by being kicked and abused. Men look at her as a commodity to be bartered with for a few hours of their pleasure. When she was at the market for her owners, she got lost and was caught, literally, in the middle of a confrontation between the palace guards and a criminal. When they are captured, the criminal claims her as his while he is imprisoned in the dungeon. While there, he heals her of her pains and abuses. They were captured when someone threw a gargoyle and hit her on the head. He keeps her blindfolded to protect her eyes as she heals. He tells her that he created that distraction in the courtyard as a way to help free his species leader from their dungeons. He was prepared to be incarcerated, he had his own water and food for the time he planed to be there. The food the guards sent down to them was poisoned. She shared some of her life from being a child, to training, to some of her exploits as a spy. When she asked him what he was, since he claimed he wasn’t human, he wouldn’t tell her, said that it was personal. He would talk about how humans treated other human life so causally without value because they reproduce like rabbits. She comes to rely on him as they spend more time together. For his warmth, his sharing stories, his voice, and his food. When they get even closer, the next day he is gone from the cell. Instead there was a wolf.
Bryce has always volunteered to do whatever was needed for his people. When they needed someone to be a distraction so they could free their leader, no problem. What he didn’t expect was to find his mate while he was surrounded by guards. He was able to claim her has his property while imprisoned. He took care of her, fixed all her ailments, fed her, kept her warm. While exchanging stories, he sees that she always undervalued the tasks that she performed as a spy. She never put much value on herself, yet he couldn’t give her enough, even if she is a human. It was nice to see how she reacted to him while she was blindfolded because he had one fault that always followed him around. He was very good looking yet nobody every really saw the real him inside. She did. She was even nicer to him while he was a wolf. She took care of him. She told the wolf that she would do whatever she could to protect him as they escaped.
This story being different was like a breath of fresh air. I highly recommend to read this story if for no other reason to experience this way of telling a story.

Joslyn is a human slave who gets thrown in prison for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Bryce is a shifter on the run and ends up in prison as well. As they spend time together sparks fly but what will happen when she awakes in their cell only to find a wolf. Can she find a way for both of them to escape? Fast-paced read with great characters and an entertaining story. The chemistry is steamy and I found this new take on a shifter read intriguing. Looking forward to more in this series.
She steps between a fugitive and the guard chasing him and ends in a cell with him.
She has been a slave for a while and her owner has her run errands so she is dressed a bit better then the average slave. After she is accosted on a trip to the market she gets lost and as she tries to get her bearing she steps into the middle of a situation. A man grabs her from behind holding something to her throat and realizes that he is trying to escape the guards and using her as a hostage and shield. She awakens injured in a cell with the man who had held her hostage. The guard had dropped a stone gargoyle on them.

I’ve been a long time fan of Lisa Daniels’ work and I have to say, by far, this is one of her best books I’ve read to date. “The Wolf Prisoner” is book one of the “Prisoners of Scythia” series and truthfully, I wouldn’t want to stop at just one book with this world, although, it can be read as a standalone. A bit of sci-fi, perhaps a touch of dystopian, an alpha shifter, and slaves all within in this world. This was quite exciting and I was pleased to have been offered a copy of this book. This is my honest, voluntary review.
