Being hurt and alone is nothing new to Hadley. She’s survived on her own for as long as she can remember, and no one will dictate the way she lives her life. With loss and pain dominating her memories, how can she put her faith in someone again? Having no one to depend on besides his club has hardened Brandon to the outside world—and it’s exactly how he prefers it. The moment he lets people get … people get close they always find a way to backstab him. There’s no room for love in his world.
Hadley and Brandon need a reason to let their walls down and let love in. Can two broken souls find a way to save each other?

Hadley grew up in an MC club with a loving family. Everything changed when her father was killed. Her brother ended up in the life, her mother was turned out, and she was next. When protecting her gets her brother killed too, she takes off, trying to make her way in a world that only knows how to hurt her. Hadley was working a dead-end job and living somewhat of a dead-end life. Her hopes and aspirations weren’t far-fetched, but getting there was proving to be a problem. Being surrounded by members of two MC clubs was only driving up her fear and anxiety, however, when her best friend convinces her that the members of the Gypsy Bastards MC are actually good guys, she gives them a chance, which gives Wolf the perfect opening.
Wolf had lost everything he had ever loved and the club was all he had left. He took his role as enforcer seriously and beat himself up whenever someone got hurt on his watch. Since the death of his wife and child, he hasn’t been able to connect or feel for anyone. No hookups for this guy. Then he sees Hadley and he can’t seem to look away. For the first time in years, he’s aroused by just a glance. Her smart mouth both frustrates and excites him. She’s a challenge he can’t pass up. And when her life continues to be in danger, he does everything he can to keep her safe.
I really enjoyed this book! It was pretty fast-paced and I was able to read it in a little over an hour. Yup, I was riveted to the pages. Three stars doesn’t mean I didn’t have love for this story, it just means it wasn’t perfect for me. I wanted more out of these characters. While knowing about Wolf’s trauma, it gets casual mentions and it’s never discussed with Hadley, at least not on page. As for Hadley, she came off as too abrasive, too rash, too immature and unappreciative, and it took far too long (the end) for her to grow out of it. I wanted to see more time with these characters as a couple so that I could feel and become invested in their happy ending. Other than these issues, I was entertained and I will most definitely be looking forward to what this author comes up with next!

STORY:
What I liked:
I like the way the author started this story and built the characters individually leading up to their interactions. This took place until 30% of the book, and for me, it was still engaging as it really made me anticipate seeing them together. I also love that the author would use the same scene and shows us Wolf’s perspective and then Hadley’s and vice versa as it gave good insight on both on particular scenes. The way this story started, I was not expecting what was to come, it got raw and a bit dark with certain contents. It was entertaining and I found myself engrossed in the storyline. Wolf and Hadley both did not have a happy past. Once Wolf set his sights on Hadley, his possessive caveman bravado came to the surface and it gave me a little bit more excitement. Hadley was definitely a firecracker and I enjoyed her chemistry with Wolf.
What was so so:
I felt that we got a bit more in-depth with Hadley’s past but not so much Wolf’s. I didn’t see him indulged much of his to Hadley. The Epilogue was good news but wish it was extended because I wanted to know if Wolf would have the same fears or concerns.
SEXUAL CHEMISTRY:
I love Wolf and Hadley’s chemistry and when they finally had sex, because it was quite a build up, it was good for me. I only wish they had more because I enjoyed them together.
SECONDARY CHARACTERS:
I heart books where we have secondary characters at play that are very much involve in the storyline of the main characters. What makes it the cherry on top, seeing or having an idea who they will be paired up with for their own story. I love Pope and Mad Dog from the MC club they stood out a lot. I like Viking as well. Hadley’s best friend Storm, looking forward to her story. Kaiya, I want to give her a hug.
OVERALL:
Was I entertained? Yes. Did I like the story? Yes. Do I find myself looking forward to reading the next book in the series? Yes.
TRIGGERS: brutal assault on a female, rape and violence.
****I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read. I based my book reviews on my preferences and what I like, and while these preferences may not be the same for others, I hope this review was still helpful.
Wow wicked Wolf the S.a.a of the Gypsy Bastards MC.
He wasn’t looking for anything after he lost both his girls and thought he’d never find that again.
Hadley knows the MC world but is trying to keep out of it till there’s issues where she works.
Then she sees Brandon aka Wolf and wow.
But alot happens will they or won’t they be together in the end, especially after what happens to Hadley.
Love it so far can’t wait for more.
I am new to this author, but what i have read so far has my attention.
Hadley grow up in a loving family that was part of an MC. When her father was killed in an accident her and her families lives went to hell in a hand basket. She escaped and has been on the run for a long time.
Wolf has lost everything he held dear to him, his wife and daughter, this along with Beijing in the MC has harden him to the point of granite.
Hadley and Wolf need each other for different ,yet similar reasons. Her because she needs someone to let her be her and not control her,but to be there when she needs a place to hide and just be vulnerable. Wolf to bring him back to life and to enjoy said life. Their love completes them in a way that no one else could.
From page one Jade had me pulled into the story of Harley and Brandon. I had a full list of things to do, however, once I picked up this book I did not get a single one of those things done until after I finished this book. I cant wait to get started on the next one.
I couldn’t put this book down. Hadley and Wolf a relatable and their relationship is all kinds of sexy!! I can’t wait to read what comes next.
Loved Hadley and Wolf’s journey. I do love a MC story. The pace of the story was great. Their story kept me turning the pages. It’s gritty, sexy, a few tears and it left me wanting more. Looking forward to reading more from this author.
A first book from a new (to me) author, and what a great start! I must add that this book contains scenes of violence against women.
Hadley grew up in a MC but it wasn’t a good experience and she ran. When she attracts the attention of Wolf from the local MC she’s reluctant to get involved but needs their support.
This book has a bit of everything – including a nemesis that I can see coming back in the next book – but Hadley and Wolf get their HEA after lots of action, suspense and romance. Take a look, I’m sure you’ll enjoy the new series!
THE WOLF is the first instalment in Jade Marshall’s contemporary, adult GYPSY B*STARDS MC erotic, MC, romance series focusing on the members of the Gypsy B*stards MC. This is club enforcer Brandon ‘Wolf’, and waitress/tattoo artist Hadley Freeman’s story line.
WARNING:Due to the graphic violence and assaults, and strong language, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Hadley and Wolf) THE WOLF follows the building relationship between Gypsy B*stards club enforcer Brandon aka Wolf, and Hadley Freeman. Years earlier, Hadley, a product of the MC lifestyle escaped when her brother was murdered for protecting our heroine but life on the run meant Hadley was always one step ahead. Fast forward to present day wherein Hadley, rejecting the advances of a member of the Mongrel MC, finds herself under the protection of the Gypsy B*stards MC when her best friend Storm steps in and saves her life. Enter Gypsy B*stards MC enforcer Wolf. What ensues is the building relationship between Wolf and Hadley, and the potential fall-out as Hadley finds herself a prisoner of the Mongrel MC, and life as she knows it is about to change.
Brandon is a broken man, having loved and lost years before. Never expecting to fall in love again, Brandon is blindsided by his need for Hadley, a need that does not go unnoticed by the other members of the Gypsy B*stards MC. Hadley has known struggle for most of her adult life but a war is brewing between the local MCs and our heroine is caught in the middle as the prize for the taking.
The relationship between Hadley and Wolf is one of immediate attraction but Wolf doesn’t do relationships, and struggles with his feelings and emotions towards our story line heroine. Hadley is a woman who makes friends easily, and as such becomes tight with a couple of the members of the Gypsy B*stards MC but it is not until Wolf stakes a claim do the threats against Hadley become personal and deadly. The $ex scenes are erotic and intense.
We are introduced to several members of the Gypsy B*stards MC : Club president Pope; Sparrow and his old lady Luna; Viking, Doc, Mad Dog, Beast and Justice; Hadley’s best friend Storm, and newcomer Kaiya. The requisite evil has many faces.
THE WOLF is a story of hardship and betrayal; love and acceptance; power and control. The premise is gritty and raw: the characters are flirty, troubled and flawed; the romance is provocative and consuming-there is a palpable sexual chemistry between our leading couple.
Hadley grew up as the daughter of a member of the Iron Disciplines MC. After her father’s death, her mother, brother and Hadley became the property of Iron Disciples MC When the president of the MC decided to take what he wanted from her, her brother died protecting her and she had to go into hiding. Now, other than her friend, Storm, she is on her own. Even though she tries to avoid any MC members, when a particular Gypsy Bastards MC member comes in the club where she works, she has a hard time saying no.
Wolf is the enforcer of the Gypsy Bastards. He has had a lot of loss in his life and feels that he will never love another woman again. But when he goes to a local club with his MC brothers one night, everything changes. Wolf is now determined to try at love again and is willing to convince Hadley to give him a shot.
Will Hadley and Wolf find their HEA?
I really enjoyed this story. I am a fan of MC books and wasn’t disappointed in this one, especially as this is Jade Marshall’s debut as an author. I liked the main characters and the storyline. I hope this series continues with more of the Gypsy Bastards MC.
Hadley has had her share of MC’s and is determined to keep her distance. Unfortunately for her, she attracts the attention of one of two local clubs and it’s not in a good way, nor are they a good club. In fact, they are more like the club she is currently hiding from. With the help of a friend, she is introduced to the Gypsy Bastards who have their ethics and morals that do not include hurting women or children. Wolf finds himself fascinated by her and doesn’t therefore always think with his big brain.
Hadley is not only a survivor but she is a fighter too. She is not prepared to take anything lying down and certainly stands up to Wolf when she needs to. He is a man who has already suffered loss and wants nothing more than to protect Hadley at all costs.
There is a LOT of miscommunication in this novella! I can’t see it any other way though, so it works. There are numerous characters in this novella, all with stories I would love to see. With great situations and characters, this was a brilliant way to start a series and one I hope to see more from. Definitely recommended by me.
Strong women, Alpha males, lots of action and danger.
She just wants to survive and stay below the radar, but circumstances won’t let her do that. Now she has to fight for her life again. This time though, she will have the best men backing her and protecting her, not only one man. Hadley is on the run from the Iron Disciples. She grew up in the MC, but after her father’s death, Hadley, her brother and her mother all became property of the Iron Disciples. When the President, King wanted to take her for his own, that’s when she became a woman on the run.
Wolf is the enforcer of the Gypsy Bastards; he’s a hardened man and he became that way after a tragic loss. Now he just wants to work in his paint shop and do his job in the MC as the enforcer. One night at the Dusk to Dawn strip club has his mind elsewhere. The first time he saw Hadley, he wanted her for his own, but he fights himself because it feels like a betrayal. When he finds her at the club house and saves her from falling from the bar top, he knows that it will be a losing battle.
I devoured this book. It was full of tragedy, action, destruction, and great characters. There are two MC’s that are a danger to Hadley and the Gypsy Bastards, but these guys will go to any length to protect her and when they bring in another ally MC to help them out, they will find Hadley’s strength shine through. She was a beaten down woman who wanted to hide, but when she finds her voice and her backbone, look out because she will become a woman to be reckoned with. I love the characters, the plot, and the story line. Ms. Marshall did a great job writing this book and I look forward to more in the Gypsy Bastards MC. Hopefully Pope and Storm or Mad Dog and Kaiya? I give this story a 5-star review and hope there is more coming soon. If you are a reader who likes MC, women who come out on top, men who worship their women, or like a steamy love story, you should one-click The Wolf. For a first book this is an awesome start to your writing career!
