Keller is an adorable character and I want to follow him anywhere. He is funny and tragic and has untapped power he doesn’t know about. His partner, Johnny is strongly optimistic and also has a tragic past.
So I liked the world building, it is a different take on the witch/werewolf dynamic, even if it includes an apocalypse. I did have a little trouble with plausibility in a few scenes. If you’re running for your life, it makes sense to run and not stand talking about running. The bad guys also found them a bit too easily and too often.
There are some intriguing loose ends, like the twins and Ash. Alyssa is great and the HFN ending was expected. While this isn’t my fave story from this author, it’s still an okay read.
This is the first in the Windward Triad. This review covers all three books. Noah has created a unique mmm/mpreg shifter world. The Wards are a new twist on Guardians. Having fallen to almost mythical status, it shocks everyone when a new Ward, the Windward, shows up. The magic coven, the shifter council, and the human hunters are all after control of the Windward. If they can’t have him, they want him dead. These books are filled with vibrant characters so full of life, they leap off the pages. They will pull you into their story. All the drama, set-backs, loyal friends, old and new enemies, will leave you breathless and begging for more. And the sex! Hot in the first book, scorching in the next two.
These books are meant to be read in order. There are cliffhangers. There is violence. There is mm sex, and then mmm sex. Lots of sex. HEA? Yes. Cute babies? Yes. No spoilers here. You have read the blurbs.
I loved these books! You will want to continue reading, one after the other. When you are done, you’ll want more. You won’t want to say goodbye to what are now, old friends.
This book contains language, violence, and steamy MM/MMM sex, and mpreg. It is intended for mature 18+ readers.

This was a fun read. it had wolves, witches, magic with a bit of romance. It was a bit of a slow burn before any romance happened between both characters. Kellar had always found himself in odd situations and his life anything but boring. It seemed like trouble had a way of finding him no matter how hard he tried to get away from it. It went from a stalker ex boyfriend to being followed and stalked by strangers he has never seen before and when hes finally attacked by 3 big men in a alley he knows he cant go home and then they find him and he finds himself running again, running right into a wolf/witch named Johnny. When he met Johnny, his finds that his whole life was a life and all along he thought he was a human with the worse luck ever when he ended up being more than that and Johnny was going to Dow whatever it took to protect from the ones called the virgil who are trying to kill him and anyone like him.At the same time they cant seem to ignore the strong pull between one another but a wolf could never be fully satisfied with someone who is a ward. Johnny knows eventually his wolf will be in search of an omega, only an omega can fully give him that bong his wolf desires but Johnny still cant ignore the strong connection he feels toward kell.Theres more than just this keeping them apart though. There are many people after them. I enjoyed this story and felt like the characters were well developed and it was very action packed and held my interest most of the time. I read this one in one sitting.
This is a great story with an intriguing world view of witches, wolves, humans, and magic. There is a cadre of fascinating characters, both primary and secondary, and an interesting plot full of surprises, secrets, and unexpected plot twists.

While trying to escape his attacker for the second time that day Kell encounters Johnny. When becoming aware he was being followed Kell tried to escape them only to find himself cornered in an alley. As he tries to get away an air conditioner falls from one of the building separating him from his attackers and he makes the most of it ti get away. Instead of going home he goes to his friend Carson’s apartment which is next door. He arrives just as Carson was leaving for work but he is told to make himself at home. Later her hears a bang and realizes that the door to his apartment has been force open and he could hear people searching the rooms but when he notices they are coming back into the hallway and start bang at the door to Carson’s he goes out onto the balcony and down the fire escape. This was such an interesting book. I liked the different take on witches and werewolves being two separate clans and even having a human factor with the Vigil working against them both.
I loved the characters as well. They both seemed to jump off the pages for me. Kell is an energetic, upbeat young man who grew up in foster care and has often had strange things happen around him when he’s gotten angry. Johnny is a werewolf who still had access to deeper magic even though he chose to be a wolf over being a witch. When the Vigil comes after Kell, Johnny saves him and they go on the run together. Eventually they are also hunted down by the witches and werewolves as well. With Kell only just learning of magic and the true depths of the power he may possess, it’s an action filled ride to see who will get Kell to fight for them or if Vigil will take them all down in the process.
The relationship between Kell and Johnny was very believable and so well done. The teasing and banter they had was so natural. I loved seeing them interacting and coming closer together through all the different obstacles thrown their way. If you like magic and werewolves, definitely pick this one up!

I was absolutely enthralled by this excellent MM shifter romance. The plot is well-written & full of intrigue with unusual & unexpected events. The unique characters are quite complex as they struggle with personal & emotional issues while trying to find acceptance in an unforgiving world. The secondary characters play a good supporting role.
There is: a twenty-two yr old man brought up in various foster homes notices strange things happen when he gets angry (Keller Thorne aka Kell), a outcast alpha flees to America & comes into contact with Kell (John Francis Oakes), an organization prepared to kill anyone not human (The Vigil), a rather strange & unusual enemy yet at times a friend (Alyssa), werewolves, witches, covens magic, mystery, twists & turns, intrigue, suspense, danger, enemies, threats, stalkers, assailants, instincts, loneliness, confrontations, illusions, memories, attractions, strange abilities, conflict, explanations, choices, battles, carnage, powers, fury, righteous justice, awe, fear, demands, anger, apologies, verbal banter, a immunity letter, hope, acceptance, shifting, happiness, contentment, love, some steam & a well-earned satisfying epilogue,
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this shifter romance and would recommend it to people who enjoy reading this genre. I sincerely doubt that you would be disappoint in this book.
A great start to this trilogy. Kell has no idea of the supernatural world he is a part of. Johnny lost his place and only wants to help Kell.
