For me the first 19 chapters were slow and a little repetitive. But starting at about chapter 20, the twists and turns started. Wow, it was nice reading a book that I didn’t predict the ending for.
This was a story about “Thursday” who was one of three wives to her husband Seth. The last half of the book really twists and turns leaving you wondering what really is the story.
I didn’t care for some of the characters, including Thursday at times. The language was a little bit much in a couple of places, so definitely for adult readers.
It’s a different kind of story from what I normally read, but an interesting one.
This is the first Tarryn Fisher book that I have ever read. I became aware of her through Colleen Hoover, who is one of my favorite authors. I was NOT disappointed by this book at all. It grabbed me at the first page and didn’t release me until the very end. The plot and characters were so realistic. I felt like I was in the actual book with them. The descriptions were so vivid that there were times where my heart was racing and I was reading as fast as I could so I could see what would happen next. This book did not turn out the way I thought it was going to. It turned out better! If you have not read this book, I highly recommend that you download it right now! This was definitely a 4.5 stars book.
I was looking for something unpredictable and I GOT MY WISH! Wow. Tarryn Fisher is a new-to-me-author who took me on an incredible journey with this psychological thriller. The ending will stick with me for a long time. Highly recommended.
This was a fun book to read, the ending was definitely original. It was a real page turner. Good book for a book club.
This was a very interesting book, it has a lot of twists and turns in it but I was able to keep up with it I think! I liked it ok but I am not sure I would recommend it.
My mind is blown!
I really don’t know how someone couldn’t like this story. I didn’t think I would but here we are. It was so twisted, it was epic!
You think he’s crazy, then you think she’s crazy, then you’re back to him, and back to her again and so on. You really get so wrapped up in this stpy that you don’t even know who to believe.
That’s what I love though. The unpredictability, even when you think it’s predictable.
Thriller fans will eat this up. I finished it in record time because I hated having to put it down.
UGH, when life gets in the way of reading!
Definitely get a copy of this one. You won’t regret it.
OMG . . . This needs to be made into a movie.
I started reading this book thinking I knew how it was going to end, but boy was I wrong! I kept reading and every thought or preconception I had, was wrong. It was twisted and turned. I was left feeling winded and crazy as the book ended! I highly recommend this book if you are looking for something that is action-packed and leaves you guessing, especially when you put yourself in Thursday’s shoes.
This was my first Tarryn Fisher book, and I’m definitely a new fan! I loved the original premise of this book. Three wives. One husband. What could possible go wrong, right? However, as we follow Thursday on her quest to get to know these other wives, I feel like the plot did a 180 and became something other than originally promised. Despite the twist, it was still a worthwhile read!
I really enjoyed listening to this book! As a narrator and writer, I don’t have a lot of time to read for enjoyment, so something needs to pull me in from the get go and keep me going. And this book did that! I love psychological suspense and this had lots of fun twists and turns. I was also sucked into the plot of three wives: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Fun book. Great plot. Twists and turns that were surprising. Thumbs up!
I went back and forth on this rating, three or four. Since, you can’t do halves on Bookbub, I decided on 4 just for that last chapter. When I read it, I was like WTF (please excuse my language, but if you read this you know why).
The whole way through the book, I am thinking one thing only. How could someone agree to be in marriage like this? I am afraid to write much, because I don’t want to give anything away. All I can say is hold on until the last 2 chapters and the book will be worth it.
Another incredible story by Tarryn Fisher. Brilliantly written from the first page to the last.
There is crazy then there is crazy !!
I dont want to give anything away about this book so you have to read it
All I can say is the pages fly by , I found myself routing for the crazy one !! Not sure what that says about me !
Who can you believe !
Not what I expected but I loved it !!
No wonder it is an Indigo (Canandian book store) staff choice of the month !
I found myself wondering WTF. And that’s Tarryn, she loves to mess with your psychology. Brava, I think I understand, but honestly, do I? Do you? I’d to go another round.
Couldn’t put this one down!
This is one of those really weird books that I felt compelled to read because there was a lot of buzz about it. I didn’t think that the hype fit the actual book. The first half was good and the second half was bizarre. There are three wives, all with the same man who is a polygamist. Or is he? Nothing is as it seems and the ending was not believable at all. It came too fast and although it really resolved everything, it was not a satisfactory ending.

I definitely recommend reading The Wives. A page Turner with some twist that you just did not see coming. Jaw dropper
The first half of the book is a pitiful portrait of a needy woman, so starved for love, and with so little confidence, that she willingly enters into a polygamous marriage, all the while feeling jealous of the two other wives involved. Then, she loses her unborn baby, and WHAM! The roller coaster charges into twists and turns, confusion and teasers on a depraved and warped ride that slams to the end with a jolt. I didn’t perceive this as a foreboding thriller or a suspense as much as a domestic psychological drama that becomes a riveting page-turner as it escalates.
Wow! This book had many twists and turns that left me on the edge of my seat. The ending was completely unexpected! I had never read a Tarryn Fisher book before, but now I see why all the hype over her!
The book was okay suspenseful but I expected more because of all the hype leading to its release
