You’ll change your mind 5,000 times!!
I rarely give a book one star, but this book was just so unbelievable and the ending was ridiculous.
I didn’t like this book. The characters were unlikable and the premise was very shaky. I wouldn’t recommend this.
I was really excited to read this book. It was a disappointment. I hated the ending. Not what I expected.
Interesting book; surprise ending.
I accidentally put ibn 5 stars. This was a terrible book. I am still trying to figure its all out. I did not like it all. Strange story and not entertaining!!!
I couldn’t put this book down. About the time I thought I had it figured out, there was another twist.
I am still trying to get my thoughts together about this book. I don’t know what I was expecting but this darn sure was NOT it. I felt like I was right there with the main character, who we didn’t seem to know the real name of until later on in the book. Days of the week. Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. I am just blown away by this story and I can’t believe it took me so long to pick it up.
There were twists all the way up to the end. There was no figuring it out. None.
Engaging from page 1 to the end. And what an ending. I didn’t forsee that twisted ending.
This is the story of a young girl who is one of three wives. Her husband has two other wives that she has never met. Her husband won’t even tell her their names, so she calls them Monday and Tuesday. One day she finds a receipt in her husband’s pants pocket and she realizes it is the name of one of his other wives. This starts her down a rabbit hole of finding out who this woman is and what she is like. And that leads for the search for her husband’s first wife. Soon secrets come to the surface and she isn’t sure she should have ever started the search. Now she feels that one of the wives is in danger and she is doing everything she can to protect her and herself.
This was a good book. It is hard to see where it is going until the end, which was great. I purposefully didn’t put the name of the main character in this review becuase it is not revealed to us until further into the book. And to me, it makes a difference when her name is reveals. There are twists and turns where you think you have it figured out and then the book takes a different direction than you expect. It was a great book to listen to and I found myself looking for time to listen just to see where this story was going to go. I highly recommend it.
Fantastic! Damn! I could not put this book down. Talk about a roller coaster from the first page. This book will leave you guessing page after page and trust me, you won’t want to put it down. I can’t say much without giving spoilers! What happens when you have to share your husband with other women? Why would you agree to that? This book was thought provoking. I honestly loved it!
This book wasn’t at all what I thought it would be. I thought it was about a man who had secret wives, but instead it turned out to be a sorta stepford wives meets sister wives.
None the less an interesting good read.
I’ll definitely check out other books by this author.
Loved the originality of this story.
3.5 stars
So many mixed feelings about this book.
I liked parts of it and was on the edge for many moments but somehow, overall, the feeling is that some people are too much in a good way but mostly in a bad way. I’m guessing that’s what made me keep reading because the author created a not so usual world in this story and the characters are quite an interesting mix.
I must admit that it’s my first book by the author but I’m going to read more because her writing is very good and it keeps you wanting more and more.
I found this novel completely impossible to put down! Super intriguing from beginning to end & absolutely no fluff! It was so entrancing that I picked The Wives up for 3 other people! Thrilling doesn’t cover it!
Oh, Three’s Definitely a Crowd
In this psychological thriller by Tarryn Fisher, the author takes of through the mind of a woman who thinks she can stay cool and calm as one of three women in Seth’s life. (I don’t even know guy, who could have a heart of gold and pure magic in his pants, and my answer would still be hell-to-the-no.) But, Thursday-the woman, not the day of the week-is accepting in all kinds of ways. That is, until she isn’t. She has to find them. Know them. Fool herself into believing that she wouldn’t intrude, planting herself firmly on the outskirts of their lives. But trying to sneak a peek in Pandora’s box has its consequences, and the error of her ways quickly becomes apparent. She exposes a danger she’d never considered. Seth.
Story-wise, I’m at a 3.5 stars. But the writing was utterly incredible. A solid, bright-and-shiny five stars there. Tarryn Fisher has a gift with weaving words into visions, actions, and emotions. Following the trail of rich descriptions and easy going language were pure book candy. I’ll have to check out more.
This book completely BLEW ME AWAY!!! It was very fast-paced and kept the twists and turns coming constantly. I was never really sure what or who to believe! Absolutely, hands down, one of the best books I have read this year! This novel is NOT to be missed by fans of psychological thrillers!
See if YOU can figure it out, before the end.

What’s this book about? (I’m trying to give as little spoilers as possible)
Thursday’s husband has two other wives. She has never met them. When she finds a disturbing detail about her husband, she decides to investigate. Curiosity killed the cat though…
This was my first Tarryn Fisher read. I had high expectations because everyone on my feed raved about it. I can confirm that this was a quick read and definitely a page turner. The first half of the book was my favorite. It was highly entertaining although I constantly went back and forth on whether I liked the leading lady or not. The writing was great. It managed to captivate me from the get go and I was invested in finding out what the hell was happening. I had lots of scenarios in my head and the second half confirmed none. Usually, it’d be amazing if my theories went unconfirmed. Here, however, I felt let down. I felt like the book was going into one direction up until the twist of halftime arrived. It was weakly executed, in my opinion. I ended up confused. Why built something up and let me down in the end? Around 60% of the book, it started confirming that things had gone anti-climactic as hell.
I loved this read, but I truly didn’t like the ending. Perhaps if I re-read, I could pick up on details that hinted at this sort of ending and maybe then, I’ll understand why the author let things go out that way.
I recommend this read to mystery lovers, doting wife admirers and readers who love to hate a husband that has lots of little secrets up his sleeve.
A truly thought provoking book. Never have i read such a twisted read from the queen of twist. Another great book from Tarryn and would highly recommend to anyone.
With plenty of twists and turns, there will be many readers who love The Wives. I enjoyed that a book showcasing an unreliable narrator built up to the doubt and suspicion and didn’t string the reader along from page one through a headache of who to believe. There is a good portion of the book before all the crazy begins and I liked that. However, once the psychological thriller component came into full play, it was executed the same as all the others but with the addition of last minute surprises. Those “surprises” unfortunately didn’t do anything for me personally, given all the wild ending options that could have been explored, but read it and see what you think. There were a few quotes that stood out and made it worth the read.
