I don’t want to go back to Caspian Academy. To the narcissists and the backstabbers. But daddy dearest, AKA King Ambrose, has decided it’s time for me to go back into that particular cesspool of civilisation. You’d think students at a school for witches would be bold enough to rise above the stereotypical norms, but not at Caspian. At the top of the pile is Jacobi Ashdown; he believes he’s the … he’s the king of Caspian. He kissed me once, but he hates me now, and I don’t know why.
I don’t want her back at Caspian Academy.
She’s the cause of my nightmares. I know something is wrong with me, and she’s the catalyst. I can sense it every time she comes near me. While she’s been gone I’ve become the king of Caspian. I’m feared by those beneath me and adored by those who want to be me. But now Juniper’s back and I can’t escape her. Maybe I never could, maybe I’ve been lying to myself all along. She’s the key, and she’s about to unlock who I truly am.
Not everything is as it seems in Juniper and Jacobi’s world. Hidden hands are pulling the strings behind the scenes, and the outcome could be catastrophic. Can these two form a truce long enough to discover what’s really happening, or will they destroy each other before the truth is revealed?

It’s exciting. It’s interesting and I just couldn’t stop reading.
The Witch’s Guardian is a YA paranormal romance, co written by Anna Edwards and Maria Macdonald and is the first book in the Caspian Academy series.
Juniper Ambrose is being sent back to Caspian Academy by her father, but she doesn’t want to go. There are two reasons why, one of those being Jacobi Ashdown. He’s a lot different from when they were 15, now he’s turned into a bully.
Jacobi doesn’t want Juniper back in the place he reigns over and he doesn’t hide the fact. And it’s not because she is King Ambrose’s daughter. He has other reasons for wanting her to stay away.
The idea of this story is one I’ve not read before. For me, it’s unique and interesting. It captured my attention from just a few chapters in. It’s witches and magic. It’s secrets and lies. It’s exactly the kind of book I would’ve loved to read as a young adult — (who am I kidding I loved it and I’m more adult now) so it’s a perfect YA paranormal read.
I’m excited for more in this series and to see where the authors take it and the characters.
really enjoyed this after a bit I couldn’t put it down it was exciting, sexy and very secretive. Things are not as they seem and Jacobi and Juniper are in for a big surprise even though they do not get along but what happens when they do work together to uncover the secrets.
Great characters with very good detail that will keep you reading with excitement.
A little different story than what I normally read and I liked it. It did take a while for me to actually feel the story as it doesn’t grab you from the very beginning. I was intrigued from the blurb though and once you get into a few chapters, it really picks up. It’s mysterious and sexy at the same time and eventually I wasn’t able to put it down because I was just as perplexed as Jacoby and Juniper.
I have definitely enjoyed reading the debut of these two authors working together. Although at first it was a bit hard for me to get into the story but after a few chapters I got into it more. Both characters had something unique about them and that made the story even more magical. Hope there’ll be more books in this series.
Juniper is being sent back to Caspian Academy school but that’s the last place she was to be and no one is excited to see her coming either. Even though she had left behind a lot of enemies, she never wanted to come face to face with Jacobi again. He will do whatever it takes to get her sent away as fast as he can but still there is something intriguing that binds him to her. Both don’t understand the pull they have for one another but Juniper also has never understood why he has turned on her since they last spoke. The more time goes by, the more Jacobi seems to unravel more and more secrets and maybe there’s also something that will make him realise that Juniper may be the key to it all; especially after the last experiences he has been through. None of it makes sense but them being together might unravel it all. Or will the powers that are trying to keep them apart, succeed?…
Wow! This was a fantastic gripping read, full of twists and turns it’s packed with so much it’s secrets, hidden memories, it kept me on the edge of my seat!. I haven’t read many PNR books and it’s not my normal go to genre, but I have to honestly say I absolutely loved and enjoyed this and can’t wait for more.
This was co-written by Anna Edwards who I have read many of her books and loved them all, and Maria Macdonald who is a new author to me and I am hoping to read more by her. I thought it was very well written and it seamlessly flows to a outstanding magical thrilling end you won’t want to miss!
This is a MUST READ, I can highly recommend it.
