I loved this series and being able to binge read them one after the other is marvellous. These books are about a family of witches, their familiars and the trouble that seems to follow them. I would recommend this series to anyone.
Overall: 4.8 stars
Mandrake and a Murder (The Witches of Wormwood Mysteries #1): 5 stars
Delightful cozy mystery. Wonderful and sinister characters abound. There is even an Easter Egg, hiding in plain sight, from another series which I think you’ll enjoy: I did.
Vervain and a Victim (The Witches of Wormwood Mysteries, #2): 5 stars
Another great paranormal cozy mystery. Hazel is becoming more proficient at being a detective. It might even rub off on her investigative journalism. Unpredictable story. Plenty of red herrings and wild geese. More visits from friends in other series. I enjoyed it and hope that you do as well.
Feverfew and False Friends (The Witches of Wormwood Mysteries, #3): 5 stars
Great story. Well written with plenty of unpredicted events. Hazel continues to mature in her role as a witch high priestess and a mystery solver.
Belladonna and a Body: Mystery (The Witches of Wormwood Mysteries Book 4): 5 stars
Hazel is in over her head, but that’s nothing new. Constantine is still a thorn in her side. Jesse is still missing. Her aunts are still missing. The coven’s still a mess. But Hazel perseveres. Sean and Tristan put in appearances. The story takes many unexpected twists and turns. And while the initial murder investigation is, as expected, resolved, so many new questions are formed. I look forward to reading the events which follow in future stories.
Aconite and Accusations: Mystery (The Witches of Wormwood Mysteries Book 5): 4 stars
The deities really have made pickle relish of the situation in Wormwood. The prophecy must be fulfilled. But figuring out what that means is a difficult chore. Plenty of side adventures and misdirection eventually resulting in a hope for the future. The end was not quite as satisfying as I had hoped. Perhaps a sequel will result in better tidings.
I received a copy of this book as a gift. This is my honest review.
Hazel comes from a long line of powerful witches yet her magic hasn’t come out yet! When her mother dies she’s still not convinced she’s a witch or that magic exists. Yet she carries on running her mothers store! In this set you will learn more about Hazel and the crazy, weird town she lives in! You will get to know her even crazier aunts who have come to help her, be there when she discovers her familiar, a car who talks and is determined to taking over the world. These were all fantastic books and as a set are the best books in this crazy, hilarious series! I highly recommend this series! I am anxiously awaiting the next book in the series!
