MAGICAL. DANGEROUS. ADDICTING. Sixteen-year-old Mia’s life is turned upside down when she uncovers her family secret-that she and her brother Dino are witches. Seeking refuge in an ancient castle, the siblings begin down a path that will change their lives forever. Really liked this story and hope the author continues it since there is much we the reader would like to know. This book has well made characters, magic, emotion, fear, evil, action and some romance. Very unique in adding different types of witches.
I enjoyed these books. Interesting and entertaining easy read.
I would like to thank OfTomes Publishing for sending me this arc to review. I have heard nothing about this author previously and I hadn’t read anything previously. I loved this book it was amazing! I read this in one sitting and honestly it took me like an hour! I just couldn’t put this down it was so gripping and the writing and characters it just drew me in and I didn’t want to leave. When it ended I was like I want more. I WANT TO READ MORE. I want to go back into this world! It’s the first story this year that has given me this feeling! Which I didn’t realise until I had finished the book!
We follow two siblings Mia and Dino who have been taken to the glass castle and adventure and everything follows! I loved the plot of this (I’m not going to go into detail because I’d rather keep this spoiler free so I’m going to be vague). With every step of the plot, I loved it and I loved how it was played out. Ahhh I just love it! If you couldn’t tell lol!
My favourite parts were well everything it’s all amazing! I really liked the sibling aspect in this book I love reading about siblings I should really read a lot more because I don’t read enough siblings. The love-hate relationship between them I could honestly relate to you being that I have siblings and they are annoying shit bags, but I also understood protecting them like Dino tries to do with Mia and vice versa. I really liked their relationship in this book! There is a particular scene that is my favourite I may have to do a video review so I can talk about it! But it was brilliant and I loved it so much.
I must have a thing for emotionally unavailable characters because straight away I was interested in Colt and I even found him funny when at times he wasn’t even being funny. I loved his character and it was so interesting watching him and Mia together I loved how they bonded. I loved everything about this I am still in gushing mode even like almost like a week later! But honestly the way these characters were written it was just amazing.
All the characters felt so real and for me, characters are the most important thing to a story and without characters, I love I can’t connect with stories but this wasn’t a problem. The characters felt 100% real and 3D it didn’t feel like any of them were there just to be side characters you got the hint that all the side characters had real backgrounds to them and I loved that.
Although there was a very much urgency in this post in terms of the plot and what the characters felt, we did have some very light and sometimes humorous moments and it was just perfect.
The world building was amazing the way that Gabrielle described the setting by the graves and the forest and even the school well glass castle it felt like I was there and sometimes I do struggle with imagining the settings so this was perfect and made me love it even more.
I think I am going to end this review (should probably be called a gush) here and I may probably end up doing a spoiler review sometime in the near future!
