Harbour is a quiet small town with a big bad secret.
Sara doesn’t understand why she is running away in the cover of darkness from her hometown, or who the baby is that her mother is giving her to care for, but she trusts her mother enough to leave and not look back.
Christine knows that there may be a time that Sara is convinced to come back so she pens a letter to her explaining Harbour’s well … well kept secret, so her daughter can understand why she and the baby are in danger.
It all started years ago…
A prequel to Hex.

A really interesting slightly unnerving horror story! A first book from this writer but not the last I hope as I did really enjoy this story! I felt it ended on a bit of a cliff hanger, so hopefully there will be more to this adventure. I do recommend!
The Witches of Harbour (Hex Duet), my first read from author Sian B. Claven . Enjoyable, well-written fiction. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough! “I received a free Kindle copy of this book and I’m voluntarily leaving a review.” The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. Now I need to get Hex (Hex Duet Book 1). (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 – July 24, 2018).
I thought this was a good book and I thought the author did a great job on the story telling which I did from beginning to the end and the character built up was very important to the story for me. I receieved this book for free thru an Advanced Review Copy, ARC, with an honest review freely given.
i liked this book but i wasnt expecting eerything in it. yes it was about so called witches but it was never really shown that there were actual ties to witches until almost the end of he book. there was a lo of violence and even rape in the book. it didnt bother me but i think there needs to be a warnign on the book for other readers for sure. the book is about a girl that is growing up in and abusive home with a mother and father who are drunk and do drugs constantly. the father physically hurts her all the time. when the police force them to send her to school she makes friends fast and easy with a set of twins, as the book goes on the mother of those twins basically takes her in after threatening her father with witch craft if he hurts her again with the understanding that she would still sleep at her house but spend days with her and so on. when one twin goes missing the book really opens up to shows small signs of the witchcraft without actually telling it. it is a good book through and through and had me wanting to keep reading until the end.

This is the story of Christine and what happened in her past. The story was both sad and interesting and a bit scary. It made me think and keep reading t see what would be revealed next. The characters were both good and bad and a wild read. just a bit of a dark sad story that just drew me and and kept me reading to the end.
I have received this book for free to read. Im not paid for my opinion. I really enjoyed this book. It took me a few hours to read it because I dropped everything once I started the first chapter because I wanted to know what was going to happen next. Grab a cup of coffee or tea and have a seat. I finished it in about 3 hours because I couldnt stop reading!

Christine was a grown woman with a child Sara who was 19 years old and she gave her, her cousin
Alexie to take away from the cursed town and told her never to come back. 27years ago Christine was an abused child at the age of 6 years old and her parents were always drunk and high so she had no one to stand up for her or protect her until the town came and made her parents send her to attend school she had no clothes, or food or pencil and paper when she arrived but the teacher asks her to choose where she wanted to sit and get a piece of paper out the bend Christine didn’t much care she was having a hard time figuring out what and how she would get by when she had to teach herself to read and write knew nothing else about school. she was 8 years old now and feeling lost and she didn’t care where she sat but she chose to sit by a pair of twin girls Rachel and Alyssia. Alyssia offered her a pencil and the teacher gave her paper she was lost so she pretty much missed what he was talking about and he erased what he wrote on the board so fast she didn’t get anything on her paper. She went into the bathroom during recess and cried until it was time to return to class. The next day was better because Rachel helped her, Alyssia was very sweet and submissive. Rachel being the dominant one, Rachel taught Christine everything she needed to know and caught her up on how to keep up with what the teacher put on the board. Their stories are told in two different timelines. This is a mystery, adventure. A very interesting twisted storyline and the characters were intriguing. Christine has been beaten every day of her short life. Her parents are junkie alcoholics and treat her like a slave instead of a daughter. She is already 8-years-old when she is required to start school. On her very first day she meets a pair of twins and breaks up the taunting of a group of school kids. The trio became fast friends. The town they live in, or in the case of the twins, outside of, has a tradition of killing a “witch or witches” every generation similar to the Salem Witch Trials. Talk about sick. This book is for any adults that love creepy stories. Recommended

I had a few, or maybe more than a few misgivings, about reading a book about witches, but I figured I would give Witches of Harbour an honest try. I sure am glad I gave it a try because it is one of those stories that really takes you deep into it and suddenly you realize several hours have passed and suddenly the story is over, and you are in awe of this story. Witches of Harbour takes the reader on an emotional rollercoaster ride filled with action, intrigue, and some speculative fiction. I received an Advance Reader Copy and chose to provide this review.
Mysterious and dark this book is deep and full of love. The twists and turns are abundant and at times startling. I loved the characters and the way the story built upon itself. I can’t wait to see what comes next.
Wow, what an interesting and good book. It starts off describing the charm of the small town of Harbour, only to look behind the curtains and see what is really going on. This is so much more than a story about witches. It’s about mania, cruelty, love, family, friendship, strength and families caught up in a curse. There are some twists and turns in the story and some characters you’ll love and hate. It really has it all and I hope there’s a continuation of the story. One of the fastest times I’ve read a book because I just didn’t want to put it down.
The first chapter did a great job of describing the setting of Harbour and truly gave that small town feel. Then what came next helped the darkness settle in around the story and totally had my attention moving forward.
Christine’s past certainly tugged at the heartstrings as I read all of her struggles. I liked the depth of emotion this book had right from the start, along with the richness of these characters.
What happened to Rachel was shocking and left me needing to know what would come next for these characters that I was feeling very close to by this point.
Things got even more intense in Chapter Five and beyond. I was loving the way this story was woven together as I got deeper and deeper into it. There were enough tragedies and secrets within its pages to have me completely enthralled. The ending and prologue for the next book have me dying to get my hands on it.
