Welcome to Enchanted Bay, a picture-perfect small town on the coast of Northern California.Meg Walton comes from a long line of witches. It’s a secret her family has been keeping for generations. The Waltons have been living a quiet existence, running the local donut shop in town. All that changes when a murder occurs.Enter Connor Smith, Meg’s former crush, who left for San Francisco ten years … ten years before, and who has now returned to town as the new detective with the Enchanted Bay police department. If Meg’s feelings were mixed enough over having Connor back in town, the detective wrongfully suspects one of Meg’s good friends for murder.
To prove her friend’s innocence, Meg has to find the real killer herself–with the help of a few good spells.

Who is Meg? What do we learn about her? What does she do for a living? Who is Lisa and what does she do? How does she know Meg? Who are Jack and Connor? What do we learn about them? I don’t much like those two! How do Nancy, Steven, Carla, and Kayla play into this story? What event does Meg agree to attend for Lisa? Who gets murdered and why? How does everyone know one another? Who figures out who the murderer was and how? Who and what is Penelope? I loved Pen!! Read and see why!

What a sweet and entertaining book! Of course with all the talk of donuts I now want some–especially the kind that they whip up in Meg Walton’s families bakery. No one ever gains a ounce from them!
Meg’s best friend is suspected of committing a murder–Meg knows she hasn’t but can she prove it? Her ex boyfriend, who is now a detective in the small town, came home for good after leaving for the big city. He was the one trying to find out who did it and had Meg’s friend on the suspect list—–What is a girl to do? She needs her magic–but can not let anyone know what she is capable of.
The Witches of Enchanted Bay ((Witches of Enchanted Bay #1), my third read/listen from author Amelia Morgan. After reading Sick of Murder (Witches of Enchanted Bay #9), I wanted to read the rest of the series. Well-written & enjoyable, a clean, cute, cozy mystery. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it & since I own both the Kindle & Audible editions I was able to follow along while being read to. I was impressed and enjoyed the vocal variety & inflections of narrator Lainie Pahos. I look forward to reading more in this series & from this author and since I own other books by her it will be easy. Up next is Ax to Grind ((Witches of Enchanted Bay #2). (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 – July 24, 2018).
It was alright. Characters were a little under developed.
oh my, that was a fun little romp! From donuts to murder, long lost love returned and talking cats, I was never quite sure where we’d end up next. A delightful short story and very easy read, this was a great Friday evening wind-down!
Not well written, too wordy.
