Icelyn was given to the Horde to pay a tithe owed to them by her court. She had no plan of letting them claim her or enter her court. One arrow should have ended it, only it didn’t stop anything. Instead, she’s now prisoner to the broody, cocky, self-absorbed prince that makes her want things she’s never thought possible. Will she be able to resist him and save her court from the horrors that the … that the Horde has planned? Sinjinn had a mission: Get Cailean to the Winter Court to claim his bride.
It should have been simple. Instead, he gets taken down by a wisp of a woman who stares at him through the clearest blue eyes he’s ever seen before. The taste of her lips sends his world teetering on devastation. She’s his prisoner, so why shouldn’t he claim her as his?
Because she’s his brother’s bride.
Because it wasn’t complicated enough, right?
One arrow will change the destiny of three lives forever. Will they be able to escape the blood oath, or will he lose her to a brother who doesn’t even want her? New allies are being forged, new enemies emerge, and no one is safe within the realm of Faery anymore.
Not a reverse harem, or a love triangle.
Can be read as a stand alone

Amelia never disappoints when she draws you back into Faerie and this was definitely the case with the Winter Court.
Definitely one to read in one sitting, away from anyone who’s not going to both blush and swoon with you over these characters who reeled me in, made me sigh, and then broke me. I demand more, Ms Hutchins. I demand more!
A great addition to the series. It’s dark and gritty. Sinjinn and Icelyn are fire and ice together. In a way destiny and fate weave an intricate story for these two. They’re so much more than either may realize. There’s twists and turns with some surprising revelations. It’s a story that unravels a plot that only thickens, gripping you, keeping on edge until the very end.
Whoop.
Another freaking awesome addition to the series. In a world where you never know what can happen, true family is the stuff of legends.

I’m really happy that we get to have another story for Ryder’s brother. This time we have Sinjinn and Icelyn from the Winter Court. I really love the build up of their story. New characters were also introduced and hopefully we get to see more of them. Especially Asher, I really hope that Amelia won’t kill him. I also can’t wait for more of Zahruk, we’ve been waiting like forever for his story .
If you’ve been following the Fae Chronicles, all the books in the Elite Guards Series, Playing with Monsters & Wicked Knights are a must read. The world building is brilliant and you will surely be hooked .
No spoilers for this book but mild spoilers for the Fae Chronicles.
This story was a little confusing to begin with.
Sinjinn has always felt like a background character in the Fae Chronicles, so I really enjoyed reading his story.
If anything, this book has only made me want a book for Zahruk even more – he is clearly the most dominant out of the Elite – and I think he would even go toe to toe with Ryder.
I wonder who his mother was?
Oh and hi Asher – like, there has to be MORE Asher right?!
The Winter Court is book 3 in Amelia Hutchins’ The Elite Guard Series which follows the Horde Kings brother Sinjinn. If you haven’t read any of the Fae Chronicle books or even the rest of the Elite Guard books that’s ok cause this can read as a stand-alone. But I would highly recommend that you read all the books that are available from all the connecting series to get the full picture of everything that is going on and to meet all the wonderful and not so wonderful characters, plus it is one HELL of an emotional ride.
Here is the recommended reading order:
*Fighting Destiny (Fae Chronicles book1)
*Taunting Destiny (Fae Chronicles book2)
*Escaping Destiny (Fae Chronicles book3)
*Seducing Destiny (Fae Chronicles book4)
*A Demons Dark Embrace (Elite Guard book1)
*Playing with Monsters (Playing with Monster book1)
*Unraveling Destiny (Fae Chronicles book5)
*Sleeping With Monsters (Playing with Monster book2)
*Claiming The Dragon King (Elite Guard book2)
*Oh, Holy Knight (Wicked Knights book1)
*Becoming His Monster (Monster book3)
*A Demon’s Plaything (Elite Guard book2.5)
*The Winter Court (Elite Guard book3)
Sinjinn is on a mission to get his brother Cailean to The Winter Court to claim his bride for the tithe to The Horde King. But what he never expected whilst being out in the freezing cold trying to find the court, would have been to get shot by an iron arrow by a fiery woman and taken prisoner. Seriously who would be stupid enough to take down a Horde Prince?
Icelyn was not going to be taken by the Horde, she would not allow the monsters that destroyed her family to take her, marry her and breed her. No way, even if it’s treason to her Court she won’t allow the Oath her Father made to happen. She is going to take the Prince her prisoner and send him away.
I really enjoyed reading this book and getting to see some of my favourite characters making appearances and meeting some new ones, that I can’t wait to see more of (I’m talking about Asher). This book has so much going on that it’s so hard to put it down without constantly thinking about it. Even now as I’m writing this review I’m thinking about everything that has happened and I really have no idea what i should or shouldn’t put in it. I want to tell you about some of the things that I really enjoyed but I don’t want to ruin the suspense or surprises and shock for you when you read. So I’m going to keep my virtual mouth closed and not spoil it. During a time of War and devastation the Horde are still able to bring a smile to your face with the brothers quirky interactions, and of course Ryder and Syn, pushing each other’s buttons.
I’m still a little confused as to what exactly is going to happen with Icelyn after so many different claims and speculations were pit on her, but I am happy that after all the crap and trouble she has gone through her whole life that she did get some sort of a happy ending. Although I wouldn’t call it an ending as there is a war brewing around the corner.
I know a lot of people have had a lot of mixed feelings about this book because of the fact that they felt this book was repetitive and similar to ‘A Demon’s Plaything’, saying that the princess doesn’t want to be married that cause their father was a monster that the sons are monster. Now what’s great about reviews, everyone is entitled to their own opinions, no one will have the same thoughts or feelings which is great otherwise this world would be a very boring place. But in regards to this book you all have to remember The Horde King Alazander was a brutal, sadistic, twisted sick man that destroyed a lot of people and all the courts have been affected and destroyed in one way or another by him, he suck into them to fear the Horde and that any that stood against them would be destroyed. So of course people will eventually get sick of be frightened and stand up for themselves, especially when it’s a new King in charge. So yes there may be similarities but in no way are the stories the same. All of the heroines that Amelia writes have spunk and a fire in them that they have picked themselves up from some sort a tragic past to make them the strong willed woman they are in these books.
I will never get tired of this world and its characters. Amelia always knows how to surprise us and make different, interesting stories for every character. This story wasn’t an exception. Great world building, new interesting characters and I’m already looking forward to see them in other books. Who knows maybe some of them will get their own books one day)))
I always liked Sinjinn, from the first moment we met him and I’m very glad he got his own book. It was very interesting to read Icelyn’s story. She is a strong woman who went through some bad things in her life. She and Sinjinn had many obstacles but eventually they overcame them all and gladly everything ended well for them)))
Amelia writes the best stories about the world of Fairy. I absolutely loved this book. It’s dark & kinda of twisted.
In this one we start out with the a*sh*le heroine, then we get our alpha-male as*ho*e hero that we grow to love! We get some new characters & let’s not forget getting to meet Asher! I’m so excited to learn more about the seelies!
The twist & turns in this adventure, they are not nice & it takes a strong woman to survive what she must to see her people to safety.
So be prepared to yell at your kindle & the author! Feel all the ups and downs and craziness that is a given with Amelia.
I can never get enough of this world! I dont want this series to ever end. An enjoyable & entertaining read looking forward to seeing what else is in store for the series.
Loved it!
Loved this book and getting to know the Horde Brothers more!!! Love them all!!!
Anyone who reads Amelia’s books knows that it is pretty much a given it will be amazing! And this one was no different, sinnjinn and Icelyn were so fun to read fire and ice!! Yes please. And let’s not forget getting to meet Asher I’m so excited to learn more about the seelies! Well I can say you will be in for a ride with this book. So be prepared to yell at your kindle and to feel all the ups and downs and craziness that is a given with an Amelia book…loved every minute of it cannot wait for more!!
I just dont know where to start. This author writes the best stories about the world of Fairy. I never thought there would come a day that Sinjinn would meet his match in Icelyn. She is the future Queen of The Winter Court. The twist and turns in this adventure, they are not nice and it takes a strong woman to survive what she must to see her people to safety. I can never get enough of this world. I dont want this series to ever end.

Fantastic series
I absolutely loved this book. It’s dark and kinda of twisted definitely not your typical PNR that’s for sure. I mean they were some parts I wanted to punch Sinjinn in the balls and say MAN UP!!! I also felt like Icelyn was way too forgiving she need to make Sinjinn grovel a little for his douchey way but then again that just me. Overall a enjoyable and entertaining read looking forward to seeing what else is in store for the series.
Whoa. What a great read! An enemies to lovers story packed with lots of heat, twisted villains, new characters and a great storyline. Felt the vastness of Fairy for the first time too. The only series I have ever read multiple times more than this one is Lord of the Rings. Really a fantastic set of stories, and this one is no different.
This book is part of a series and must be read in order to follow the story line. Do yourself a favor and GET ALL OF HER BOOKS!!! You will not regret it because Amelia is a kick a!@ writer!
Holy fairy fucks!
This was soooooo good! I was reading so fast I’m going to have to read it again. There was so much happening in this one. Lots of new characters to love and hate. Great new story lines to follow. And this heroine kicks ass!!!! Hope we get to see more from her in future stories. What I really loved was in all these stories we have an asshole male who we grown to love. In this one at least for me we start out with the asshole heroine we grow to love! Awesome.
