“The bluest of blood, the boldest of hearts; the de Montforte brothers will take your breath away.”
England, 1776: Lord Gareth de Montforte is known as an irresponsible rake with a heart of gold. When he takes a bullet for boldly thwarting a stagecoach robbery, he is stunned to discover that the beautiful young woman he has heroically rescued, Juliet Paige, is his deceased brother’s American … American fiancée, accompanied by her infant daughter. Despite his brother the duke’s refusal to acknowledge Juliet, Gareth is determined to do right by the courageous woman who crossed an ocean to give her baby her rightful name. But Juliet is wary of marrying this black sheep aristocrat, even while she is hopelessly charmed by the dashing devil. Never has she met anyone who embraces life so thoroughly, who makes her laugh, who loves her so well. And, even when it seems the odds are against them, Juliet has absolute faith that Gareth will go beyond the call of duty, risking his life itself to give her and her daughter a home — and a love that will last a lifetime.

A demanding duke, a wild brother with wild friends, and a wonderful read!
What a wonderful series! After reading “The Wild One” I couldn’t contain my joy when I found out there are tons more in this series. I had already picked a whole bunch of characters that I wanted to know more about and the author doesn’t disappoint! They are so beautifully written and I can’t wait to read the next one!
This is the second book o Jane read in this series. I was very enjoyable and I am enjoying the series.
I liked this book more than I really expected to. I’ll buy more from this author and I’m glad I discovered her. The storyline was great & characters were very real and I could relate to them, so for that reason I highly recommend it.
I loved Gareth and Juliet’s story. It drew me in from the very first page and never let me go until the last. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series and I hope they only get better from here!

Good read
This is the best HR I’ve read in a long time. The characters were very well drawn and the storyline moved along nicely. I particularly loved the twisted set up to lead into the next in series. Well Done!
I have read the first 3 of this series about this family, fast moving interesting character building
Predictable.
A terrific action packed unique beginning. This book has wonderfully written action scenes as well as well done introspection and character building. I’m already reading the next in the series. This one is a can’t miss.
Many think Lord Gareth de Montforte is an irresponsible rake with a heart of gold. He boldly thwarted a stagecoach robbery by taking a bullet. He is stunned to discover that the beautiful young woman he heroically rescued, Juliet Paige, is his deceased brother Charles’s American fiancée, accompanied by her infant daughter. Despite his brother Lucian the duke’s refusal to acknowledge Juliet, Gareth is determined to do right by the courageous woman who crossed an ocean to give her baby her rightful name. Gareth charms Juliet, but she is wary of marrying this black sheep aristocrat-dashing devil. Never has she met anyone who embraces life so thoroughly, makes her laugh and loves her so well. Even when it seems odds are against them, Juliet has absolute faith that Gareth will go beyond the call of duty, risking his life to give her and her daughter a home and a lifetime of love. – I loved Gareth. He was fun but reckless and needed to mature. Juliet was caring, intelligent, and serious. Gareth is exactly what she needed. He was great with Juliet and her daughter, Charlotte. Gareth and his friends were always getting into mischief. Lucian was hard on Gareth and the younger siblings. The story is interesting, and I had a hard time putting the book down. This is an excellent read.
