This book was so seriously sweet! I absolutely loved watching Mauricio & Wren together. Wren was a little shy and nervous, but she wants to find her inner sex kitten. And I just swooned watching Mauricio find Wren so enthralling & enticing! And those steamy scenes…..whew!
This will definitely be a book that I reread again & again in the future!
I was so looking forward to Mauricio’s story! And Ms. Cardello didn’t disappoint.
This is the story of Mauricio and Wren. A chance meeting in the romantic city of Paris. Their chemistry sparking like sparklers on the fourth of July!
Wren is an amazing heroine! She is smart, she is sassy and she is loyal! I love that her filter is paper-thin and she has a habit of blurting out whatever comes to mind! I like how she kept Mauricio on his toes and kept surprising him!
Mauricio oh my me…this hero has all the elements of a swoony fella! He was brutally honest (or so he thought) at the beginning of the vacation fling with Wren.
The secondary characters and the way both families meddled was fantastic and brought so much more to the story. I also loved the secondary story and how the whole Corsini and Romano families are connected. I am hoping for more secrets revealing in future stories!
You get humor, heat and most importantly heart in this story, love for family and love for each other. I am so becoming a fan of Ruth Cardello’s stories! I can’t wait to read more!
Ruth has a true gift of a arrogant man being brought to reality by a strong woman. Wren, was a family oriented woman who was strong willed and knew what she wouldn’t settle for. A true vacation brought a little blur to reality. When her reality creeped in Mauricio couldn’t handle his feelings. With the help of his family things turned around and brought ease to a strain that ran deep but was out of pure love and respect.
Very entertaining and at times emotional.
The romance was more believable in this one but we get the typical male foot in mouth syndrome.
Wren was likeable and her relationship with her parents, especially her father with his disability and PTSD, was strong and loving.
Mauricio grew on me and he at least admitted straight away that he loved Wren.
His family interaction was great.
The part with Dominic intrigues me and I cannot wait to see how this all plays out. Obviously it will all tie in with Gian’s story.
Read through Kindle Unlimited.
I love this book, loved reading up about the Corisis. I’m very intrigued to find out more and what the secrets are that are hidden about this family. Highly recommend this book.
I listened to the audio book provided with this book. The narration was decent. The storyline was ok.
I hate to admit that I did a lot of rewinding with this book. My mind kept wandering. I could not really get into Wren and Mauricio’s relationship. I didn’t get the sense of any great chemistry, or sexual tension, or anything.
I am finding that I am really starting to dislike books about wealthy men where the h is so flipping insecure. Why do these women feel like they are too inadequate to be with a man who has lots of money? What makes these men so special? I mean the woman, (Wren) had a degree in engineering. She wasn’t a lightweight. So Mauricio has to end up showing her that his money doesn’t matter. He is just a regular guy. So disappointing.
This is the 2nd book in this series that has Dominic Corisi tied to it. The little snippets about Dom being rejected and the sister who is dead to the family, are irritating. It’s not a cliffhanger, but if you want to know Dom’s story and how it relates to the Romano’s, you have to keep reading the series.
I did like the way Mauricio interacted with his parents and his brothers. Maybe I just don’t have a clear picture of the Corisi/Romano interaction. It feels out of sync when you are reading/listening to Mauricio and Wren’s romance and Dominic and Jeremy are dropped into the storyline.
I would give this book 2.5 stars. I feel like if you haven’t read the Corisi books (The Legacy Collection) you might end up being confused.
“The Wild One” is the second book in the Corisi Billionaires series and it is the story of Wren and Mauricio. He is known as a playboy and she is the type that plays it safe, stays out of trouble and does what is expected of her. Her friend Cecile invites her to Paris for a much needed vacation and this is where she meets Mauricio. They are quickly drawn to one another, and although she doesn’t do casual and that is all he does, what happens on vacation stays on vacation, right?
This is a light hearted romance for the most part, loaded with passion, fun, friends and family. I love how devoted Wren is to her mother and father.
The reader also gets another glimpse of Dominic Corisi and things are beginning to get very interesting with that. I cannot wait for the next book in this series and I highly recommend this to all romance lovers!
This is book two in the Corisi Billionaires and can be read as a standalone. Mauricio doesn’t do relationships, he doesn’t like the comment. When he meets Wren meets Mauricio while on vacation with her friend Cecile, she is ready for some fun. She decides to live in the moment and have a good time. Neither of them are looking for attachments. Things start to change for both of them.
I enjoyed this story and am looking forward to more in this series.
I love everything she writes. Never miss a book.
Best book I’ve read in a long time
This book was fantastic. Grabbed me right from the beginning and I couldn’t put it down. The characters were beautifully developed and emotional and really resonated. I literally can’t wait for the next book in the series to come out. I wish I could have given it ten stars
Wren is in Paris to clear her mind. She’s burned out. Soon after arriving she meets Mauricio and finds herself irresistibly attracted to this gorgeous man. I loved the playful yet sexy banter between them. It added spice to their romance. They agreed it would just be a fling, but the heart wants what the heart wants. And it wants a forever love. Wren is realist. I liked her strength and honesty. She’s the opposite of Mauricio. He’s a charmer who lives in the moment. No tomorrows or commitment for him. Until Wren. Can he win the lady? I wasn’t sure that Mauricio could get over his hurt when Wren leaves him without a goodbye. I wanted them to be together. Paris should work its magic on these lovers. I hoped so. When the Romano Family tries to help their son things get really complicated. I loved it. This is a wonderful love story. Ruth Cardello made me care for Wren and Mauricio. I’m hooked on the Corisi Billionaires.
I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
This was a great book !
Wren was only looking for a weeklong fling.
Mauricio was also looking for a no-attachment fling.
What happens when love gets involved ?
Loved the characters + the storytelling !
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
I can’t wait for the next book in this series.

The Wild One is book 2in the Corisi Billionaires series by Ruth Cardello. Wahoo…more of the Corisi family and friends!
This is the continuing underlying story of Judy Corisi, her school project of a family tree, Dad refuses to discuss, so she asks her Aunt Althea (both from the Legacy Collection series) for help to find her Dad’s family, this gets back to her Dad so…we will have to wait and see what happens…it seems this underlying story will play out in future books! Which brings us the story of Mauricio and Wren.
Mauricio Romano, playboy billionaire and Wren Heath, good girl who plays it safe has decided to let her hair down and have a Paris fling. They spend a beautiful week together in Paris, touring, sexy times, laughter but when Wren gets a call about her father she leaves for the states while Mauricio is sleeping leaving nothing behind except a piece of her heart…thinking they will never see each other again but fate has more for these two then just Paris!!
Love this series and the continuing underlying story…can’t wait for the next book!!
This was a fun book. It is the second in a series but can be read as a stand-alone. Characters from the previous book do make an appearance and are easily explained. That said, the first chapter and another near the end are told from the point-of-view of Dominic Corisi. For someone unfamiliar with the Legacy series (I haven’t read it) these chapters are puzzling, as is the name of the series. The brothers in this series so far are Romanos, not Corisis. By the end of the book, I did have an inkling of the connection so it will be interesting to see where it goes.
This book is the story of Wren and Mauricio. Mauricio is a billionaire with a playboy reputation. He was known to be quite wild when he was younger, though he’s been more settled the past few years as he helped with the family business. Now that his brother is ready to retake the reins, Mauricio is at a crossroads, looking for what he wants to do next. In the meantime, he heads to Paris to visit friend and fellow bad-boy Felix.
I enjoyed my first meeting with Mauricio and Felix. Felix is late to a business meeting with Mauricio, who is losing patience. That changes when Felix calls to let Mauricio know that he’s in the hospital and won’t be released until the next day. The injury seems to be a case of karma, which I found to be satisfying as I learned more. Felix’s misfortune leaves Mauricio stuck with helping Felix by finding a way to politely boot Felix’s mistress from his apartment before Felix is released.
Wren is in Paris on her first trip to Europe and visiting her friend Cecile. After a lifetime of being the good girl, she’s ready to cut loose just a little bit. After a slightly embarrassing first encounter, who better to play with than Felix’s friend Mauricio? He’s fun and sexy, and what happens in Paris stays in Paris, right?
I wasn’t sure I was going to like the book at first. There seemed a lot more action in the bedroom than in developing an actual relationship between Mauricio and Wren. Thankfully it didn’t take long for the “no-strings fling” to morph into something much deeper. Both fought it hard, but unsuccessfully. Wren won my heart first with her determination to step outside her comfort zone. She is smart, sassy, and has a terrific sense of humor. Her mixture of innocence and sexiness was fun to watch as it had an unexpected effect on Mauricio. Mauricio wasn’t far behind as he quickly began to envision something permanent with Wren.
I loved the development of the relationship between Wren and Mauricio. The chemistry is off the charts, but they connect on a deeper level also. The interactions between them were fun. Wren doesn’t have much of a filter, and some of the things she says amuse the heck out of Mauricio. I also enjoyed seeing Wren’s reactions to some of his more outrageous claims and how she keeps him from being too full of himself. Each falls hard for the other but says nothing because of their earlier demands of no strings. Just as Mauricio is ready to take the plunge, Wren gets bad news from home and leaves with no explanation. Mauricio is devastated and angry, believing that she did not share his feelings, and goes home to lick his wounds.
Mauricio’s family has never met a situation that can’t be helped by pulling together. Earlier advice from his father had helped Mauricio identify his feelings for Wren, and now his father is invested in seeing Mauricio happy. Unfortunately, his attempt to bring the two together backfires, with both Mauricio and Wren blindsided by an unexpected reunion. Mauricio has an especially boneheaded reaction before realizing how wrong he was. I loved the help he got to pull off his “cow” moment and the faith he showed in Wren and her abilities.
The importance of family is a key theme in this book. There are the bits with Dominic Corisi that have to do with long-standing issues involving his parents. As an only child, Wren feels responsible for her parents’ happiness and well-being, which in turn has affected the way she leads her life. It’s that love for her family that causes the misunderstanding between her and Mauricio. I loved his family and the boisterous love they have for each other. I loved their support of Mauricio and determination to help him win back Wren.
The Wild One by Ruth Cardello is book Two in the Corisi Billionaires Series. This is the story of Mauricio Romano and Wren Heath. I have read the previous book which added to my enjoyment of this one but I did feel you could probably make this a standalone book if you wish to do so. Wren has taken some time to meet her friend Cecile in Paris which will allow her a vacation. Cecile has warned her that Mauricio is a good time guy that loves them and leaves them so she should avoid getting her hopes on him. But Wren finds that she would love just to do a total break from her good girl lifestyle and have some hot encounters with Mauricio in the few days she will be in Paris. Mauricio knows that Wren is totally different from the women he gives his time to and hopes that she doesn’t form an attachment to him. But then he starts to form his own attachment to something and someone he never thought he would every really do. Enjoyed their story.
I like Ruth Cardello’s book and from the ones that I have read she tends to have a whole family and coming from a big family that is involved in everything I like that. I liked Wrenand this she wasn’t the norm of what Mauricio tended to go for, however he still wants her and the no string situation. But you and I know that the no-string tends to turn into a whole ball of yarn. He gets stupid and realizing that he erred has to correct it before he loses what he never knew he wanted nor needed. But my regret I again-lord what is happening to me started with this one, how could I have not known or more likely forgotten that this is the second book in series, and you know I need to know everything I am nosy like that-again coming from a big family it a given..Anyhoo can’t wait til the next one and when am I every going to find more hours in the day to read, read, read!
Rcvd an ARC at no cost to author…(netgalley) voluntarily reviewed with my own thoughts and opinions
I was so wrapped up in this story that I finished it in one sitting. This is my first book by this author and I am thoroughly satisfied. There’s so much back story that I am missing though from the other books in this interconnected series of standalones. I am desperate to dive into reading the other books, I need to know more!
Wren and Mauricio meet unexpectedly. And from the start you know that there’s more than their willing to admit. Instant chemistry right from the start that blossoms into an explosive, intoxicating whirlwind. I loved their banter.
A wonderfully written read that I just fell in love with!
Sexy, fun, action packed and emotionally thrilling romantic journey filled with engaging charters, witty dialog, heart racing twists and undeniable passion…. was a great read! Really loved this exciting adventure in this highly entertaining series.
The Wild One will have you booking a flight to Paris! This is the second book in the Corisi Billionaires series, and I love how it’s a story about the two main characters, but there’s still that underlying mystery that’s been continuing from the first book…so if you haven’t read The Broken One, you’ll definitely should before diving into this one. I adore stories involving self-proclaimed bachelors, who are adamant they’ll never change their ways. The best part of the story is by far the Romano family. Their family dynamic are what goals are made of, not to mention how they love to meddle. This was a wonderful addition to the series, and I’m looking forward to more. Hopefully with more answers about the bigger picture that we keep getting glimpses of in each book!
They were destined to meet in Paris. One week to go WILD and enjoy a fling and then, they would just go their separate ways. Could this work?
Wren and Mauricio appear to be opposites at first glance. With his reputation as a player, Wren would be crazy to trust anything he said to her in the heat of passion. But could he talk dirty! A girl could just dream a little with him.
Passionate and emotional, I loved this book!
I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Thanks to the author for sharing a copy with me.
