Mauricio and Wren had sizzling chemistry from the start and it certainly didn’t let up throughout the entire read! This was the second standalone in the Corisi Billionaires Series and it was as delightful and enjoyable as the first book. If you’re looking for contemporary romance with some fun, some drama and some steam, you’ll be happy with this book and this series. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley.
Phenomenal!!! Let me say The Wild One by Ruth Cardello is amazing . Its hot and wild. I was so consumed I literally could not put it down.
Another great story in this series! I loved the way Mauricio and Wren met. So unique and funny. These two had sizzling chemistry. I really enjoyed their Parisian affair. Even though it was supposed to be brief, I could feel the way it grew into more. They were both stubborn in their own ways, but I liked how they tried to overcome all of the things that held them back. As always, I love Dominic Corisi and the drama he brings to a story. I am excited to see where things lead with his family secrets.
What happens in Paris stays in Paris? Another great read by Ruth Cardello. Wren was always taking the safe way to life. Her first trip to Paris and she wants to do all the tourist things. Billionaire Mauricio reluctantly agrees to be a tour guide for the day, granted he wants it to run into the night too. They finally decide to have a five day fling with no strings, no regrets.
Another great read in the Corisi Billionaires saga. Well written, great characters and a story you can’t put down. I highly recommend this book!
Another great book in this series the men of the Corisi family are pure alpha male and when they meet the woman for them they don’t hold back at all and that was so true of Mauricio once he met Wren she may have not been his usual type but she was going to be his even if it was supposed to be no strings attached at first.
I love the setting I felt like I was there with them ans while it is a stand alone I do think it is better if you have read “The Broken One” first just because it gives you background
Wren Heath hadn’t had a vacation away from her parents in years so she decides to go to Paris to visit her friend and do some sightseeing. While there she meets Mauricio Romano who has a reputation for being a player on the dating scene. They decide to give it a go with a week of no strings attached five days and five nights. Things definitely heat up and while Mauricio brings out the sex goddess in Wren, he also realizes that he might want more than a week of being with her. When she has to rush home, Mauricio thinks she doesn’t feel the same as he does and is devastated. It takes a little help from family to get these two to realize a week in Paris is just the beginning of what could be something wonderful.
As always this author writes a wonderful love story, with crazy and funny family thrown in for good measure. I love getting to know the new characters in Ms. Cardello’s books and love when she lets us catch a glimpse at what previous characters from previous books are up to – in this case, Dominic Corisi, who is one of my most favorite heroes in my book world. Wren and Mauricio are such a good balance for a hero and heroine, neither being too overbearing, but bringing out the best in each other. The plot is strong; there is humor and fun secondary characters and a very well pulled together ending. I loved this story and am anxious for the next one in this series.
I received an ARC from Netgally for an honest review, which I have provided.
The Wild One is a fabulous read. It is fun and sexy as you go along the journey of Wren and Mauricio. I love their chemistry and their Paris adventure together. Wren really comes out of her shell when she meets Mauricio. This book just takes you on this journey of finding love and family. Mauricio is wonderful and watching his heart grow once he meets Wren is so beautiful. I love the Romano family and getting to know more about them. Yes you should read this in series order to understand the tie ins a little more. I love where Ruth Cardello is taking us in the Corisi Billionaires series and I can’t wait for more.
4 star review of The Wild One (Corisi Billionaires #2) by Ruth Cardello
The second book in the series and one I enjoyed. This is Wren Heath and Mauricio Romano’s story.
What could be better than a fling in Paris? After all what happens in Paris, stays in Paris, right? Not always. Having recently visited Paris, I loved reading about places that hold a special place in my heart.
I fell hard and fast for Mauricio and could easily see Wren as a friend. I liked that the author has written characters that have flaws and it just made them more realistic. Both have baggage and yet could this fling turn in to something more?
It was also great to see some familiar faces and I enjoyed the romance and love story. There was also some heat which added to my enjoyment.
Although a stand alone i do feel it might be beneficial to have read some of Ms. Cardello’s other books to get more of the back story.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley.
Thumbs-Up!! A hero who goes back to a place in the past only to realize he no longer feels the pull of youthful antics. A heroine who has always been responsible and mature wanting to let go and have fun in a place far from home and responsibility. Mauricio and Wren were fun to get to know. I really enjoyed the interaction between them and how they each were always upfront with each other and their expectations. The only thing I missed is I would have like to learn a little more about why Dominic doesn’t want anything to do with his past. What did Althea find out about that made her stop looking into it? Otherwise this was a sexy, engaging romance I really enjoyed.
The Wild One was a beautifully written story. It is the Second book in the Corisi Billionaires by Ruth Cardello. I devoured this book from start to finish in nearly one sitting. When I had take a break from it, I thought about the characters until I could get back to them
Wren and Mauricio meet in rather unusual circumstances. There was an instant connection and for once Wren decided to take a chance on spontaneity rather than making the safe call. Little did she know just how much that one decision could change her life.
Sometimes being safe isn’t always best. You have to take a risk and bet on yourself. That is exactly what Wren does with Mauricio.
I absolutely loved the twists and turns Ruth Cardello puts into this story. I love the world she has created so much I never wanted to leave. I can’t wait to see what she does next with this series!
The Wild One by Ruth Cardello a four-star read that will make you flourish. This is number two in the Corisi Billionaires series and it could be read as stand-alone, but honestly I would suggest reading them in order as there are one or two pieces that you may get lost in if you haven’t. This is a great read if you like instant chemistry but also a deeper story, the author does a good jo of dealing with darker subjects but not making them overly dark. The setting of Paris was so well done, you could picture yourself there with them.
Ruth Cardello’s ‘The Wild One’ is a fun, sexy romp that packs a whole lot of heart. When Mauricio meets Wren in Paris, he feels an instant attraction that he can’t quite explain. So when they mutually decide to have a hot Parisian fling (something way outside of Wren’s norm), they both discover there might be feelings beyond lust that are involved.
This is the first Cardello novel that I have read, and while it mostly works as a standalone, I feel like reading her prior related works might be helpful in understanding a couple of the chapters that feature a character named Dominic. But if you’ve read her other novels, I feel like these chapters will make sense and add interest to the overarching arc of the series. I plan to go back and do some more reading to fill in some of these gaps.
In all, I feel like Cardello is a great storyteller who doesn’t shy away from heavier topics (PTSD, depression) without going about them in a way that feels gimmicky or inauthentic. The chemistry between Wren and Mauricio is also palpable and thoroughly entertaining. If you’re already a Cardello fan, ‘The Wild One’ won’t disappoint. And if you’re new to her work, you’ll find yourself wanting to read more.

Instant heat or slow simmering. With those Romano men, you never know what to expect. Sebastian was a brooding mass of contradictions and Mauricio is a charmer with his own brand of baggage to work through. Well played, Ruth Cardello. The Corisi Billionaires series is turning out to be a beautiful surprise. There’s always a twist you never saw coming and a few familiar faces litter the canvas from more than one fabulous Cardello series. Two lost souls find themselves in the city of love. Mauricio and Wren will take emotions on a magical escapade that ranges from instant lust to soulful yearning and oh, so much more. Cardello aims high and has yet to miss the mark when it comes to stealing hearts.
I really enjoyed this fun, entertaining and addictive romance. Sweet, innocent engineer Wren Heath gives sexy playboy Mauricio Romano a run for his money whilst holidaying in Paris. Mauricio is the exact opposite of everything Wren looks for in a relationship, but whilst in Paris she decides to be wild and throw caution to the wind, and they decide to have a one week fling. What happens in Paris, stays in Paris. Or does it? Two people, who I’m sure are destined to be together forever. I loved the banter between Mauricio and Wren, they were great together, both in and out of the bedroom. Mauricio had a fab sense of humour and I just adored his family – interfering, nosey, and completely and utterly adorable. I was hooked from the first chapter. Wonderful story, wonderful writing, and wonderful characters. I received an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. This is my honest review.
Mauricio Romano is trying to find his place in his life, for years he was the playboy, but when tragedy struck his older brother’s life he was forced to take over the family company, ever since his brother came back to run the Romano Superstores chain he’s not sure where he fits. Flying to Paris to meet his friend Felix about a business proposition, he ends up accidentally meeting Wren, never having been interested in love before, there’s just something about her. Wren has always done what’s safest and expected of her for her entire life, right down to her stable job that she doesn’t like. When she has a chance encounter with Mauricio she questions all of her life choices and wants to do something careless. Deciding a Paris fling was exactly what she needed Wren spends the week with Mauricio, what she didn’t plan on were her feelings. When tragedy strikes at home, she’s forced to leave early without saying goodbye.
This was overall a good story. I loved that Wren was a history nerd and an engineer. She was relatable in her risk adverseness, it’s so incredibly easy to fall into what’s comfortable and safe. As much as I wanted to hate Mauricio, I couldn’t. Despite his past, he was sweet and charming, and I loved him (and his family) for Wren. I also like how it touched on veterans with PTSD and survivor guilt. It’s something that can be so easy to push to the back of your mind if you don’t live it or know someone affected by it, but they are definitely issues that need to be addressed. If you’ve read her Legacy Collection you know who Dominic Corisi is, you get a glimpse, a few more nuggets of information about him and his family history. If you haven’t, it’s only a couple of chapters that are easy to skip, but I have a feeling it will tie into this series later on. This is sweet, angsty, hot read with a little bit of everything.
