I loved this book! So many twists to the plot! Kept me surprised till the very end!
Loved this..kept stopping to read a bit more throughout the day
This book was widely praised in the reviews for having lots of twists, which ordinarily creates an almost insurmountable hurdle for a book: If you know there are plot twists and are looking for them, you generally see them coming. And, to be fair, I did see several of them. But by no means did I see all. I was hooked from the first page, in love after the first really unexpected twist, and finally quite incapable of putting it down. I finished in the middle of the night. Wow, just Wow! Wonderfully done the whole way through!
I had no idea how good this would be. I was surprised. Not easy to do.
This was an interesting story but I sometimes got confused trying to figure out who was narrating.
I loved the twists
4 stars
This is a rollercoaster book, where you don’t know what is going to happen next. There are flashbacks interspersed with a present day narrative. The reader is initially led to believe that a marriage broke down due to alcoholism, but there are more layers of complexity revealed . I found it to be a compelling read with a satisfying ending and no loose ends.
There is some domestic violence, but you will like the ending.
Thanks to NetGalley, St.Martin’s Press, and the authors for sending me this ebook.
This book is definitely on the same path as Gone Girl. I enjoyed it, but because I was prepared for a twist, I wasn’t as shocked as I wanted to be. I would have preferred going into this book completely blind, and it would have made it a better experience for me. However, the book itself is fantastic and I do feel like anyone who enjoyed Gone Girl will also enjoy this book. I would go as far as to say that the characters are not quite as likeable as I would have expected, but they’re still okay.
Nellie chooses to give up the life she knew when she decided to marry Richard. He’s rich, handsome, and the seemingly perfect husband. His one flaw is his ex-wife who just won’t leave well enough alone. This story follows Nellie in her life with Richard. While her life seems picture perfect, things are not always what they seem.
Things are usually not what they seem. This is especially true in this story. It appears, at first, that Vanessa is following Emma, because she is the jealous ex-wife. I can’t say much for fear of ruining the surprises for you. However, twists and turns abound, as the story proceeds, and they continue till the very end!
I loved the character development in this one. We really get to know the characters so well! I also loved the twists and turns. I wanted so badly for this one to end, so I could find out what was going on. But, then, I didn’t want it to end, because, well, then I t would be over. This was so much fun!
This novel to me was a mix of Girl on the Train and Behind Closed Doors.
The twists aren’t all that surprising–most of them are pretty well telegraphed. I did want to read to the end to get the full story, but just felt it was ok.
I don’t enjoy it when the narrator of the story is drunk and you are reading through their booze filled eyes. It makes a blurry story, that much more confusing.
Ok, I had a hard time rating this one. I think part of that was because I listened to it on #audiobook and I’m not still sure how I feel about listening to a book instead of reading it myself. While I found the book kind of slow there were some good twists and turns so I was thinking and questioning things long after I turned it off. I enjoyed how the book was broken into parts but sometimes I was a little confused which I guess was the point. Overall I would suggest everyone give this one a try if for no other reason than to give me some more points of view lol.

A story about a couple, their relationship, marriage, and divorce.
-THOUGHTS-
1. Ok. I flippin’ loved this book. The way it was told. Different viewpoints. The way the story unfolded. And of course, the story itself.
2. At first, I did roll my eyes at the mention of how Nellie didn’t care about how much money her fiance had. I mean…that is simply unrealistic. By the end, however, I understood it. So try not to roll your eyes at that….you’ll feel differently at the end.
3. I listened to the audiobook and it was fantastic!

I loved the twists and turns in this story.
it was okay
This book kept my interest. Unpredictable with some twists.
This book was great and had me reading. I will say it had an amazing twist mid story that I just did not see coming and then as the story kept unfolding I wasn’t sure when or if it would ever come to an end, but when it finally does it wraps up nicely and leaves no stone unturned. Over all a really good read.
Contrary to the marketing blurbs, this book isn’t another Gone Girl, but it’s a fun read. The authors didn’t need the last surprise at the end; it felt contrived.
This thriller was definitely twisted and had your mind constantly going over scenarios of what could be happening. When I first finished part 1, I was like um what the hell? But then as I continued reading, I actually felt like that was a really great way to start the book as we delve deeper and deeper into the main characters life! It really was a gripping book and kept me intrigued until the last page! Fantastic read!
Interesting plot twist… and twist… and yet another!
