Life for these widows has been tough and painful from the first book. These women have endured, seen more tragedy than a person should have to endure, and overcome so many obstacles.
This book does not disappoint. The residents and women in this story have a way of supporting and helping these widows to once one their past and want a future that is bright and full of hope. This book really made me happy and emotional all at the same time.
The Widows of Birch Harbor: Alexandria is the fifth book in this series. I have had the pleasure of reading each book in this series so far and loved getting to know each of the women. Alexandria has a rags to riches story as she marries an incredibly rich man, Peter. You know sometimes things are too good to be true and Alexandria’s husband is arrested and then hangs himself in jail and dies. She ends up with nothing but the clothes on her back, a house in Birch Harbour and tem thousand dollars in cash. This is her moment to start over and make a life for herself and she does. Enjoy!!

Starting over and learning what is valuable in life
Sometimes starting over from scratch can be the best thing that happens to you, even if you curse and swear all the way there. So it is with Alexandria in this book in The Widows of Birch Harbor series. Alex was married to Peter who was doing more than a few things wrong in his life. He spoiled her and provided her with everything that money could buy including a standing in high society. However, when he is arrested and then commits suicide in jail that is just the beginning of her fall from grace. The FBI and IRS then take almost everything except for a small beach house in Birch Harbor and $10,000. Now Alex has to figure out how to move on and live a life that is vastly different from the one she had been but also that is much richer on so many different levels, including the chance at real friendships and love.
This is another wonderfully written short story by Nancy George. The characters have a lot of depth and emotion and the story-line is well developed and detailed, especially for such a short story. I really enjoyed this book in the series, as I have enjoyed all of the previous books.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
This is the fifth novella in the Widows of Birch Harbor Series. Alexandria’s story is sweet, fast-paced and filled with twists and turns, with a great HEA. Sam is handsome, caring, and protective. The secondary characters are great! I love this Series of novellas. Now, I can’t wait for the next and last book in the Series, Viola.
Alex’s husband Peter is involved in some shady dealings, and she’s unaware of anything other than her social status. He’s arrested for murder, then commits suicide while in jail. The FBI & IRS confiscate nearly everything, and Peter’s attorney takes advantage of her situation, treating her as the whore she once was. All she has left is $10,000 and a house in Birch Harbor. Living in a small house without servants, and having to get a job are humbling experiences for her. I love this book, and think that it’s my favorite book so far of this series. Alex truly lives up to my personal saying of “a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do” and becomes a much better person.

The Widows of Birch Harbor: Alexandria is the fifth book in this series. I enjoyed this short story that depicts Alexandria’s life when she moves to Birch Harbor after the death of her husband. Spoiled and self-centred does not go over well in this small town so Alexandria has to change her life to find her happiness. Will she also find true love?
I read and reviewed this book with no obligation.
Another quick read in the Widows of Birch Harbor series. I enjoyed how the story starts with a very snobby Alexandria and the path she followed to realize she did not need to be that person. I liked Sam but would have preferred a little more time getting to know him better. There was a lot of action throughout this short story. I held my breath a couple times, waiting to see how it would play out. I recommend this story and this series.
I received a copy of this story through Enticing Journey Book Promotions, and this is my unsolicited review.
Birch Harbor seems to be a second chance place for widows.
Alex was married to billionaire Peter. She led an indulgent life with him, and a pretty unhappy one.
Alex manages to keep hold of one property from their marriage. Birch Harbor is a chance for her to live without the shadows of who she was as a girl or as a selfish married woman.
Her knee life is not without a real friend and a chance for love. It also brings some hardships and echoes from the past.
Intense story of life and renewal
