Loved this book, loved the author.
Not the usual romance story. The romance in the story is very subtle and somewhat subdued. A nice story, kept me interested enough to want to know how it ends. Still, there were no romantic rivals, no crisis, no conflicts, just a sweet little story about a widow and her children with a happy ending.
Love all charters, good reading
Good read for romantics
Love this book. Wonderful characters and inspirational too !
Perhaps it’s just me, but I found this book was too “nice”, too predictable, and after a while I knew what was coming next. I stopped reading 2/3 of the way through and then read the last chapter, and I was right. I also thought it slowed down and lost vigour 1/2 way through – almost as if it was being stretched, but it would be a good book to …
Loved this first book in this series!
I feel like I know everyone at the Larkspur Inn and in Gresham. I found this book very inspirational. I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next, but I didn’t want the story to end. Thank goodness there was a second book…
I absolutely love this story and couldn’t wait to read the entire four book series. If only we could live there! Trust me … you will love this book too.
I really loved this book. It shows how a family goes through a loss of a member, the loss of their money, and how they work hard together to get through this rough time. I want to read more by this author too. I couldn’t wait every night to continue the story. I felt I lived their life with them.
Wonderful story of perseverance. Highly entertaining.
I enjoyed this book she is a very good author
I enjoyed this enough to look for more in this series.
Truly enjoyed this book. Would love to read others by this author.
Good story and very easy to read.
From the first page to the last you will be drawn in. Into the lives of the men and women enclosed here. Troubles. Yes. But promises of God and how we should look at our trials. Little nuggets of wisdom throughout.
Lawana Blackwell is one of the greatest fiction writers that I have ever read. She keeps her books moving and it is hard for me to put the book down. Her books are very interesting – never a dull word all the way through. Above all, her stories are realistic.
Loved the descriptive writings and the determination of characters
A great story about overcoming the odds on many levels – physically, mentally, spiritually and socially – with well fleshed-out characters dealing well with the situations at hand. will add this author to my reading list.
Enjoyable story of a determined woman and her struggles to support her family.
Loved it!
