Anna Goodrich has decisions to make.
A young artist who now lives in New York City, Anna must return home to mid-coast Maine for her uncle’s funeral.
Can she face all that she left behind when she left seven years earlier?
The pain of her own mother’s death, the fractured relationships with her father, and her first love. The life she had built for herself in New York – the art world, her … she had built for herself in New York – the art world, her boyfriend – allowed her to forget the grief and hurt she had left behind in Maine.
But when her uncle leaves her a surprising inheritance, it forces her to face her past, and the parts of her self she’s buried.
As she searches for answers about herself, and where she belongs, she discovers how people and places shape us, and how understanding, forgiveness and grace have the power to transform us and the people we love.

It had a lot to the story line and I basically could not put it down.!!
This was an excellent book. The writing of Katie Curtis was outstanding. Her descriptions of everything, right down to the color of the grass or the shade of the dirt was awesome. I specifically enjoyed how the author interweaved the characters throughout the story, allowing the reader to understand and enjoy the history of the characters and know what was going on in their lives. I will add this author to my list of “new found” authors I enjoy!
This was a great book. I didn’t want to put it down after I started reading it.
I loved this book! I couldn’t put it down. What a great story. It takes place on the coast of Maine, one of my favorite places to be. I loved the characters and the author writes so well I felt like I was there in Maine. I was sad to have the book end. I read this was the author’s first novel, I can’t wait to read her next one.
This is one of my all time favorite novels. I love the story and I especially love that it takes place in Pemaquid, Maine. Pemaquid is my favorite light, my happy place. This book brought back many happy memories.
Great story!
I enjoyed this book and a great summer read. It takes place in a small village of Artist and Lobster fisherman. The story is about Anna returning home after living in New York working in a Art Gallery. She is returning after the death of her Uncle.
Anna is still having difficulty getting over the death of her Artist mother. The story deals with her heartaches and pain and finding love. Characters are well developed and this story will make you want to visit Maine and all of its beauty.
Loved this book!
Loved this book. Great read and enjoyed immensely
There is a lot that can be learned from this book, and it is taught in the form of a beautiful story! Everyone and everything we come in contact with has some sort of effect on us and start some sort of ripple.
It was missing large chunks of text and pages.
There is something about the water and two souls searching for one another that warms my heart. I have always loved a happy ending.
What a delightful book! An excellent book that was deeply moving and led me to look up more writings of this author. Loved it!
I loved it!!!
Loved It!!!
Too predictable to really be engaging.
Loved the whole story–very real–especially the description of Maine would
entice anyone to visit or to live there.
an interesting story
Sometimes we cannot bear to be home after the loss of a parent, especially a mother you shared an artistic talent with. It’s nice to know that you can go home again and live happily ever after.
This book is set on the Maine Coast a place I know and love. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.
