The Wicked Wolves Of Windsor by Byrd Nash is a collecting of short stories ranging from twisted classical tales to new modern fairytales. There are sorceresses, fae, kings, queens, and lots of talking animals. If you love folktales, you’ll love these stories. There is definitely a Grimms lens on a few of them though, so I would not suggest reading these as bed time stories.
Bryd Nash does a brilliant debut novel ia amazing the unique of all these grim type esque tales are woven together.
One of my favourite in this collection was The Prince it is beautiful written. I loved how all the chacters in this book helped the .
I give The Wicked Wolves of Windsor: and other fairytales by Byrd Nash, 5 stars.
This is a wonderful collection of fairytales for adults. Mind you, it isn’t x-rated or horribly violent, these stories are just written for the adults. They are really well written too. Each story is different but so enjoyable. I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed each and every one of the stories in this collection. This author really knows how to write short stories. Amusing, intriguing, and hard to put down, these stories pull you in and you can’t wait until you read the next one. Each one is a quick read, but you won’t be able to put it down. While I love them all, I think my favorite one is The Queen’s Favorite. I have never read anything like it before. This story, along with quite a few others in the book, I would love to see a full novel or series about. I want more.
If you enjoy supernatural fairytales, I highly recommend this book.
When it comes to the Wicked Wolves of Windsor by Byrd Nash. I am a huge fan, every story was better than the last. They weren’t sweet and innocent like a certain mouse controlled company tried to turn fairy tales into. They’re reminiscent of the original Grimm’s Fairy Tales which brought a huge smile on my face. It was hard to pick a favorite of the stories, and some of the twists at the end had me grinning on a few of them. Byrd has a way of taking fantasy and making it her own and still being incredibly empowering, especially for the females. I will say in the last story it was nice to see a flash back to Logan (from Byrd’s other book, ‘Never Date a Siren’) and some aspects of his family life. I look forward to many more stories from Byrd and Recommend this, and her other books to everyone I know!!
5 out of 5 Stars!
I simply loved this collection of short and fulfilling modern and adult versions of fairy tales that I loved and adored as a child. Fairy tales are the first stories that I remember and they sparked my love for reading at an early age. It is hard to find books that can make you feel like you are in a far away and magical land, but yet also make it seem so real and vivid that anyone could swear it could happen. When I found out this was a collection of fairy tales I just knew I needed to get my hands on it.
Bryd Nash was a new author to me when I picked this up but now that I have read and loved this so much I just may be a new fangirl. Her writing takes you away to these strange worlds with all the vivid and beautiful words she uses. I absolutely felt like a child full of fascination and wonder as I read. I loved how these stories also pulled in strong women as the leads. Another bonus was the fact that these incorporated modern day times as well.
Every story is wonderful but I truly enjoyed the title story, The Wicked Wolves of Windsor, and it stuck out to me as a favorite. It was the perfect mix of dark and twisty and magical. I can’t wait to see what else is available and what will be to come from Bryd Nash!
The Wicked Wolves of Windsor and other fairytales by Byrd Nash. This book is a collection of fairytales. The heros in fairytales is the female character. Nash’s is very descriptive and it was easy to follow throughout all the short tales. My favorite by Nash has to be The Wicked Wolves of Windsor. “This is a dark version of Red Riding Hood in a magical fantasy England post WWI” as the author says in the synopsis. With all these short tales, I felt my blood boiling and heart racing throughout the stories. I highly recommend this story to see it from Byrd Nash’s take of the fairytales.
Loved this book. The writing was gorgeous, the stories were short and sweet, and I couldn’t get through this book fast enough. I loved the storytelling and the writing. A great collection of fantasy fairytales.
The Wicked Wolves of Windsor: and other fairytales by Byrd Nash was a great compilation of short stories. I love all kinds of fairy tale stories and these will now sit among some of my favorites. I love some of the current topics being discussed in different environments. I liked that there was a mixture and you never knew what was coming. Milking Time was my favorite. There were a lot of unexpected twists and I love when fairy tales have a dark twists.
The Wicked Wolves of Windsor: and other fairytales by Byrd Nash is a brilliant collection of short stories.
Books like this aren’t usually the type or think I enjoy and yet each and every story I read I enjoyed so much. The stories were well written and packed with such detail that they each felt like a full length novel.
The characters were all brilliant. They were developed well, each one progressing as the story did. Part of the reason why I tend not to like these books is I usually mix the characters up the more of the stories I read. However with these book each ones were completely separate and easy to remember.
Although still not my favourite type of book I definitely enjoyed this one and would certainly read more by this author in the future.
I loved the novel, or compilation, or whatever you want to call it, The Wicked Wolves of Windsor! It was so aptly and eloquently written, it was hard to put down. If you love fantasy novels and stories, this nook is for you! There are eight short fantasy stories, and I thought they were all so heartfelt and genuine, and held all the emotions. Byrd Nash did not disappoint with this one! I highly recommend and can’t wait to read more from her in the future!
I found Byrd Nash on Instagram and this is the first book of hers I have read. I absolutely loved it! I am going through a bit of a rough patch that requires me to spend some time at the hospital every day and I took this book and the time FLEW! I love that they are short stories and I love how the author draws you in instantly and the stories just flow. Each little story is a different time and place and the characters are very well developed. My only regret is that there weren’t more stories! I finished the book way faster than I thought I would! You will enjoy this book and this author!
Oh, what a wonderful collection of stories this book, The Wicked Wolves of Windsor and Other Fairytales, by Byrd Nash is. New stories but they feel so familiar. Easy to read, morals with a twist and they just feel good. Been a long time since I’ve read fairy tales, but these were so good. The Prince Learns A Lesson was my favorite. Think I am going to try a few of these out on my grands. I loved these stories, you will too!
The Wicked Wolves of Windsor by Byrd Nash is a collection of fantasy fairy tales with a modern twist but are as dark as the Grimm brother’s tales. Each of the six stories are very short and different from the others. Whilst each story is unique there is the underlying theme of the old classics within. In each there is a strong female protagonist definitely no shrinking violets to be seen. The stories are set in different times and locations that range from modern to medieval giving each different flavour.
If you love your fairy tales and a little magic Byrd’s Wicked Wolves will hit just the right spot.
This is a great collection of short fairytale stories where the heroes are the females in the stories. There is a little bit of everything in this book from talking animals to castles. You will find a favorite among them for sure. The author’s attention to detail made me feel as if I was in the ballrooms and castles with the characters. The characters are a little different but they are engaging and make the stories what they are. My favorite thing about this book is how the females in the stories are the heros are the ones saving themselves and others. They are strong women and you don’t always see that in stories. I highly recommend this collection, you won’t regret picking it up, I didn’t.
This collection reads like an old-fashioned book of fairy tales, but with a modern twist. Full of lore and magic, it is like a perfect collection of ancient tales passed on through generations.
These fairytales go back to the roots of fairytales. They gave me plenty to chew on while making me think twice about doing or saying something. I highly enjoyed “The Wicked Wolves of Windsor” story! I can’t wait to read more by Byrd Nash!
