There is a razor thin edge between love and hate.
As the crown prince of Denmark, duty and honor come first. So when I meet a fiesty pink haired girl from the wrong side of the tracks, I keep mum about my royal birth. That way I can have one earth shattering night together with her.Proud, rebellious, gorgeous — Margot is my weakness.Sleeping with her is the best thing I can’t ever do again… … with her is the best thing I can’t ever do again… until I realize that she’s a journalist. Reporters like her have made my life a living hell. And when she shows up again in Copenhagen again? She’s tasked with doing a story about me and the future of the royal line.
So Margot and I are shackled together. She hates my guts because I ditched her without a word back in New York. And my teeth are set on edge by her endless barrage of questions and snapping photos.
I don’t want to find her attractive. I want to be repulsed. But…
Now that we’re forced together, my resolve starts to crumble. Every time our hands brush, every damn time she bites her lip… Eventually, even my strong will can’t overcome temptation. Though it’s wrong, even though I might lose everything, I can’t resist her.

The Wicked Prince by Vivian Wood is first book in Dirty Royals series and after reading this I cannot wait for rest!
The saying goes that “opposites attract” but when one is Royal (heir to the throne) and the other apart of the media (a pink haired New York photographer) well I dont think I need to explain that they shouldn’t really mix….that being said Margot doesn’t have a clue who he is when they meet also Stellen (Denmarks future King) doesn’t know that Margot works for the media ….so their story soon becomes an epic tale that I absolutely loved. I 100% recommend this book and cannot wait for what Vivian Wood has in store for us with this series.
This was a very good story. It was a little slow at first, but as I got more into the story and got invested into it I was actually enjoying reading it whereas I wouldn’t say it’s one of my favorites of Vivian’s but it’s close. I would recommend reading it and to go on a wild ride with Margot as she goes to interview the future King of Denmark Stellan that she had a one night with, but he’s none to happy because he can look all he wants but he there’s to be no touching…hate it for him though lol just how long that lasts you’ll just have to grab it up and find out for yourself.
The Wicked Prince is the 1st in the Dirty Royals series by Vivian Wood.
The prequel Prince and His Rebel is available as a book for free but is also included at the front of The Wicked Prince book.
The book gives us Stellan, Crown Prince of Denmark- weighed down by a crown he doesn’t want, but duty comes before all else, he is on a quick trip to the US for an interview. On a night out in a club his orderly, royal world is rocked by gorgeous, feisty pink-haired Margot. There is instant chemistry, the sexual heat between them is off the scale! They have an amazing, unforgettable night together and Stellan is called back for Royal duties, Margot having no idea who he is was ok with the one night as she didn’t want a relationship. But, for Stellan letting her go is next to impossible, especially when Margot re-enters his life in a professional capacity and for Margot the opportunity to see him again and perhaps rekindle the magic from NY
This story was entertaining and I enjoyed reading it, I did find it a little inconsistent in building the story, in some parts it was built slowly with other characters introduced and others we have scorching steamy, very descriptive sex and then in other parts it seemed very rushed to get through a part in the storyline without almost enough detail to make sense.
Overall, I enjoyed this royal romp and am looking forward to the next instalment!
I don’t get the great reviews because the story was ok but nothing great that kept me riveted to it. It’s not one of my favorites by Vivian. Until next time y’all happy reading.
Stellen & Margot are magical, steamy, sexy fire!!
This is long overdue. I read this when it released but I couldn’t find the words.
Listening to the audio book, as well as skimming the book again, my love for these two, and the upcoming stories, is reinforced.
From their instant chemistry when they met in New York, their hot hot night, the mess when reality intrudes, the unexpected reconnection, their antagonism to their fiery passion to their steamy bumpy journey to their HEA, I still love every word of this book.
Our introduction to the Love family (the royal family), Stellen’s four siblings (Finn, Lars, Anders, and Annika), his Momse (Ida, his grandmother, and Queen mother), his best friend/secretary, Erik, & his parents, Goran & Thora. Plus we meet Pippa, Margot’s best friend & close friend to Stellan’s younger brother Lars.
Margot is a tough, independent, determined woman full of ideals, intelligence, and daring.
Stellen knows his duty, but he feels stifled by it. He realizes he wants Margot, not the plans his Momse has for him.
Unfortunately, the bumps in the road temporarily derail their destiny. And those bumps are not all exterior influences.
Thankfully, they both realize they can’t live apart.
I love how their HEA comes together. And it doesn’t follow the expected patterns.
Loved it!!
The audio book was also very enjoyable. I haven’t listened to Zachary Zaba before. He was a good Stellen, plus the other male parts. His female narration was okay. It didn’t take me out of the book, so it was a good effort. I think the book might benefit from a female narrator also but it isn’t a deal breaker. A solid performance overall. Vivian is story keeps you every step of the way
Stellan and Margot’s one night leads to more trouble than either of them expected. Fleeing the country may be the best or worst decision that Margot has made. A good modern day fairytale!!
I couldn’t finish it because it was boring to me. The writing style was OK but the characters didn’t do much. Every scene was short so you didn’t have time to feel anything. There wasn’t any real chemistry because there was no time to build it. There was just no enough time for anything to go anywhere. So many wasted opportunities with all the characters and situations not just Stellan and Margot. I didn’t like Stellan at all. He was a douchebag and whined all the time in his head about how awful his life was and there weren’t any redeeming scenes to change my mind. I am not sure that I liked Margot either. She had a chip on her shoulder from growing up poor and instead of being proud of her accomplishments she used her past like a crutch. She couldn’t see past it. Then again, it’s hard to say when there was little development of her past and her present. The plot was predictable so I didn’t have to guess at anything. I’m not really a fan of Royals. They don’t really interest me but this book still had potential. It just got lost along the way. It was still OK and had minimal errors. I’m know others will still enjoy it so I am giving it three stars.
The Wicked Prince is a sweet, sexy, fun, royal romance that takes you on the journey of the soon to be King. These two characters Prince Stellan and Margot meet in America and have a wonderful night of fun. But when it becomes public, Stellan gets to hideaway back in his country and Margot has all the hassle of the media finding her.
When Margot gets hired in Stellan’s country to shadow him for a month things do not go quite as planned for these two. The chemistry is off the charts, there are funny parts and sad parts. You get everything you could want for in a romance novel all in one. Great story!
The Wicked Prince was a good, fun, royal romance w/steam and undeniable chemistry. Enjoyed Stellan and Margot’s story.
The Wicked Prince by Vivian Wood is 1st book in Dirty Royals series. This is Margot Keane and Stellan Augustus Love ( future King of Denmark) story. What a wonderful, wild, exciting read it was.
Margot meets Stellan (HRH) in America. She didn’t know that he was royalty. They had this immediate connection, instant chemistry. They hooked up together and had a night of passion but things didn’t end well. She ends up coming to Denmark for a work opportunity and is thrown back together with the sexy hot prince. Margot is this independent, sassy journalist while Stellan is intense, handsome, sexy, strong yet wickedly moody. This is a 2nd chance romance with angst at its finest. The passion, romance, magic, intrigue, drama and HEA will blow you away.
My Rating: 4.5 stars ********
The Wicked Prince is a hot and sexy royal romance with a bit of enemies to lovers type vibe. Stellan and Margot have instant, explosive chemistry. Their relationship is forbidden because of the crown, but they can’t resist their feelings no matter how hard they try. Overall I liked the how their story transpired and Stellan amd Margot themselves, but I wasnt totally in love with them. I dont feel I fully connected with either. I also felt part of the story was slow and a little dragged out. At times I felt these two were going in circles, but then thought the ending was a little rushed.
Vivian really nailed the promo for this- the color scheme, the teasers, and edits- she built a whole vibe that really got me excited to read this book!. New adult? Royal? Enemies to lovers? Sounds DECADENT!
The prequel is included (and is also available for free) so you get the full story with the Prince and His Rebel.
Our prince is Stellan of Denmark- weighed down by a crown he doesn’t want, but duty comes before all else. His orderly, royal world is rocked by gorgeous, feisty pink-haired Margot. He wants her, but princes have to marry for duty, not lust, so they can only have one night. But, letting her go is next to impossible, especially when Margot re-enters his life in a professional capacity. And thus we have that age old royal trope tension- responsibility vs. love? Royalty vs. individuality? What is with sacrificing when you are royal or when you are a commoner for the potential for true love?
This story is entertaining overall, and I enjoyed the read- the pacing was a smidge inconsistent (slow at first-but we need world building) and a bit too rushed in the end. The world building overall was good and believable (sometimes “royal” genre gets a bit too unrealistic for me, but not here). We’ve got scorching chemistry, but the emotional connection took more time for me to buy into- it is a “instalove” and “instalust” situation, so I went in knowing the steam would come before the heart. The more I read, the more I bought in- and we have a fun cast of secondary characters that enrich the story.
We’ve got a good balance of steam and physical chemistry, angst drama, royal tropes, and humor. This book is definitely on the steamier side of the heat index- and our Prince has a dirty, alpha mouth. I’m ALL here for that! (and I love some steam, so extra .5 for some well done naughtiness!) Overall, I enjoyed this royal romp and am looking forward to the next installment!
Stellan and Margot meet and its instant chemistry. They know nothing about each other but feel a connection like no other pulling them together. Then things go sideways and everything is up in the air.
I went both ways with Stellan, sometimes I wanted to punch him and others I wanted to devour him. He can definitely be a privileged a**hole but for some odd reason you want to fix him and delve deeper into why he is the way he is. He’s used to a certain way of life and a certain way of doing things. He didn’t expect Margot to come alone and take a piece of him with her.
Margot has had a difficult life. She worked her way up and had to be strong. She’s smart and beautiful with a style all her own. She meets Stellan and he’s the distraction that she didn’t know she needed. Stellan’s words at times are like lashes against her skin, leaving marks on her heart. Polar opposite worlds but when their together everything just seems right.
I definitely enjoyed reading about Stellan and Margot’s adventure together. I look for to the next book in this series!
After meeting in a nightclub and having the best night and waking up to scandal Margot and Stellan go their separate ways. What follows next is the Palace’s way to keep a reign on the situation so they orchestrate a job for here at a newspaper where her friend worlds and her job .. to shadow Prince Stellan and write and article but we all know that wont go to plan. Margot does her best to do her job but Stellan wont let her. He blows hot and cold and after trying and failing to ignore her and the chemistry between them Stellan just goes with it and we end up after a few false starts with them getting together. I really enjoyed this book although I just wanted to shake Margot at one point and say to her to make a decision and get on with it as she was seriously getting on my nerves. I am looking forward to Erik and Annikas’s story I have a feeling its going to be just as explosive.
Webster defines a fairy tale as a a story in which improbable events lead to a happy ending. I usually love royal romances, but this started off on the wrong foot with me. Our heroine, Margot, and her college friend, Pippa, who is visiting NYC from Copenhagen happen to run into her friends who include our Hero, Stellan, aka the crown prince of Denmark, while they’re out clubbing. They meet up again with the guys the next day, and I find it odd that Pippa never tells her good friend who Stellan really is and the precautions in place to keep him safe. Something happens and overreactions occur which essentially throws an ice bucket of water over their one night stand.
Margot needs to escape NY, and instead of avoiding the possibility of running into Stellan again, she actually moves to Copenhagen, which puts her right back in Stellan’s path. His grandmother essentially controls his life as she continues grooming him to be the future king, a position he’s not sure he wants. This issue comes up continually, but he never truly fleshes out how he comes to terms with his fate, which bothered me. There were several other instances where the author took the liberty of glossing over other improbable details/events which is why I said the story itself is written as a fairy tale. I did enjoy the actual romance between Margot and Stellan when they were in their “bubble”. As the other books in the series covering his siblings get written, I hope we see how Margot and Stellan progress.
Margot and Stellan meet and have instant chemistry and a real connection. Little does she know that he is the future King of Denmark! What a fun ride this story takes you on. There is some humor, steam, family, friendship, love, honor, duty, and finally, following your heart. This was a captivating story from beginning to end. Can’t wait to see what happens next!
I picked up Vivian Wood’s “The Wicked Prince” because I am a big fan of royal romances in general. Basically, if the word “prince” or “princess” is included anywhere in the book’s title or synopsis, I will read it. I’m drawn primarily to the fairy tale element of these stories as well as the chance to explore a lifestyle that is so completely different from my own.
What I most liked about “The Wicked Prince” is that while there is still a certain fairy tale element to the story, it explores the darker side of what it means to be royal: the fact that personal sacrifices must sometimes be made in order to carry out the duties and responsibilities of royal birth. The main character of this book, Prince Stellan of Denmark, must decide whether he’s willing to sacrifice love in order to marry an “appropriate” partner chosen for him by his family. His love interest, Margot, must decide if she’s willing to give up her anonymity and face potential harassment by the press in order to marry the love of her life.
Clearly, a lot had to happen before Stellan and Margot got to the point of discussing marriage, and their path was filled with quite a few twists, turns, and steamy interludes. It was certainly a compelling story that kept me turning the pages to see how Margot and Stellan would find a way to be together when the odds were so stacked against them.
Overall, I enjoyed “The Wicked Prince” and would recommend it for fans of very steamy contemporary romances featuring dirty-talking, alpha heroes. I note, however, that this book was definitely on the steamier side of what I usually enjoy, and I haven’t yet decided if I will continue with the series.

Modern day fairy tale fun! Loved the opposites attract strong personalities and the inevitable give in to their chemistry, because I was cheering them on the whole way. Steamy, heart string pulling, and worth the late night to keep turning pages.
I absolutely love Vivian Wood books and The Wicked Prince was absolutely no different. I really loved this read!
Stellan is the heir to the throne. He knows what that means for his life, but the heart and the body want what it wants. Margot has this aura about her that he is drawn too, but she knows she can depend on only one person and that is herself.
These two wind up meeting by chance and never think they’ll see each other again, but when they wind up crossing paths once again life changes for both of them. Should they keep their distance from one another? Absolutely. Can they? Who knows!
Fantastic world building, characters, and as always very well written!
Stellan is the heir to the throne and although he knows what that means for his future in the present he is well aware of his appeal to the opposite sex. Margot is a breath of fresh air from her hair to her attitude and she has learnt the only person she can count on is herself. Under regular circumstances these two would never have met but when they do the chemistry ignites until their evening comes to a premature end in spectacular fashion.
They never expected to see each other again but when she finds herself in Denmark tasked with writing a story about Stellan they know that both their futures are contingent on them keeping their distance but that is easier said than done.
Their interactions are humorous and hot, the characters are compelling, their relationship is captivating and it will have you believing in happy ever afters.
