I’ve heard a lot about Whole30 in recent years but I was only hearing bits and pieces. I had heard about how it has helped with weigh-loss, how it helps reset your digestive system, how it can help people figure out what foods disagree with them, etc.
I’ve had weird digestive issues the last few years and I haven’t been able to really figure it out. It may be dairy, it may be gluten, it may be neither of those, I don’t really know. At the beginning of 2019, I decided enough was enough. I bought this to really learn about Whole30 and I’m so glad I did! I’m excited to start my first Whole30 armed with all the knowledge I gained from this book. It also had a bunch of recipes to help me kick this off on the right foot.
I’d happily recommend this book to anyone who:
– is considering starting their first Whole30
– has had digestive issues and really wants to get to the truth of the matter
– has had trouble sticking with healthy eating habits and/or maintaining a healthy weight
Have made 6 recipes so far, all have been easy to prepare, healthy and filling, & beautiful colorful presentations. Tonight I’m making my 7th recipe from this book!
This book was an eye-opener and it changed my life in a really good way. At the end of the first 30 days I had lost about 20 pounds and my blood pressure was normal for the first time in years. I have been following the guidelines and preparing the dishes for almost a year and keep feeling better and better. I have told friends and family about the book and they have started it with the same positive results. The follow up “cookbook” is even better. It is a life changer and is very simple to follow. Do yourself a favor – get it today, you won’t be sorry.
If you have read “It Starts with Food” or you follow the online website/blog, this book may not be necessary. I have read and followed all of the above AND read this book.
“The Whole30” is an all in one guide to the Whole 30 program. It tells you the rules, what to expect emotionally/physically, and how to transition back to a “regular” diet.
If you are a by-the-book rules follower, or you just need things laid out in that type of fashion, and you want to give the Whole30 program a try, THIS IS THE BEST RESOURCE for you to be successful and to have on had!
The Whole 30 is an unsustainable diet that presents eating principles that are ultimately unrealistic for everyday life. There is some good information about the foods you should be eating; however, that information is available in other eating plans/books that present a much more sustainable way of eating, such as The Paleo Solution, the Bulletproof Diet, and JJ Virgin’s Sugar Impact Diet. On a good note, there are some good recipes included.
Many good recipes!
If you’re doing the WHole 30, this is a MUST!
Great book with wonderful recipes. Talks you through Whole food eating and a healthy lifestyle.
A good book to read if you feel like your diet is out of control and you need a reset. I felt so good when on this diet.
great cook book for those who want to discover healthier eating recipes.
To me this book and diet were…meh. I did follow the diet for 30 days, very boring, but I did learn to drink my coffee without cream and sugar. Just not for me, but might be someone else’s fav.
Completing the Whole30 helped me get a handle on my cravings and reset my diet in a healthy way. I use many of the recipes regularly.
Very informative; I’m starting the plan immediately
Need this book if you are going to do the 30 day whole 30. It explains it very well
I’m doing the intermittent fasting by Dr Jason Fung. This book had many recipes that could be incorporated in my LCHF diet.
A go to book!
It is a pretty good book for a pseudo-scientific extreme diet. I tried it with marginal results; I don’t have any food sensitivities. But I was always hungry.
Also, and the book is very upfront about this, it is not a diet for endurance athletes. Traning for an A-level event on the diet will not work.
I love the recipes and use the book regularly to help follow the Whole 30 diet. I even use the recipes when not following the diet.
I used this program to help to get off of insulin and metformin. It helped me to reset my system.
It’s ok. I have stopped buying cookbooks. The internet is faster, easier and quicker.
