Meet secondhand shop owner Sarah Grayson and her rescue cat, Elvis, in the first novel in the New York Times bestselling Second Chance Cat Mystery series… Sarah Grayson is the happy proprietor of Second Chance, a charming shop in the oceanfront town of North Harbor, Maine. At the shop, she sells used items that she has lovingly refurbished and repurposed. But her favorite pet project so far has … favorite pet project so far has been adopting a stray cat she names Elvis.
Elvis has seen nine lives—and then some. The big black cat with a scar across his nose turned up at a local bar when the band was playing the King of Rock and Roll’s music and hopped in Sarah’s truck. Since then, he’s been her constant companion and the furry favorite of everyone who comes into the store.
But when Sarah’s elderly friend Maddie is found with the body of a dead man in her garden, the kindly old lady becomes the prime suspect in the murder. Even Sarah’s old high school flame, investigator Nick Elliot, seems convinced that Maddie was up to no good. So it’s up to Sarah and Elvis to clear her friend’s name and make sure the real murderer doesn’t get a second chance.

This is a really cute book. I didn’t realize Sofie Ryan and Sofie Kelly were the same person. I love her books. This time the characters include a group of elderly ladies who fancy themselves “Charlie’s Angels”. They are on the hunt to prove that one of their friends did not commit murder. Poor Sarah, the granddaughter of one of their friends, is …
The star of this mystery series is often Elvis the cat, not that the other characters aren’t good. I think it’s wonderful that in addition to the younger main character, there is also a group of senior citizens who are smart and solving crimes with her often along for the ride. The ensemble cast is a winner. And the mysteries are good in each book.
Great read! Likeable characters, a crazy cat, and a well-written mystery.
For me, the best books include frequent interaction among the characters. Keeping those scenes interesting while moving the plot forward effectively requires great talent. Sofia Ryan demonstrates that amazing creativity in the outstanding first book of her Second Chance Car mysteries, The Whole Cat and Caboodle!
This was a fun read. Elvis is in the building and he’s a black cat that can definitely talk back. The characters are fun and the story is lively. Charlotte’s Angels indeed. Read this book if you want to have a fun and breezy story to sit back and enjoy.
Just a friendly mystery. Light on the gore factor but still fun. I want that cat!

Great book. Loved the cat.
This series grabes your interest and the characters are so fun all you will want to do is keep reading and ignoring the time. So highly recommend.
IT WAS ADORABLE. I AM LOOKING FOR THE NEXT ONE TO READ.
A nice cozy mystery. A good read.
I don’t believe Sofie can write a bad book or fail to develop a great series. With Elvis in the lead, she is off to a good start to a new set of must read books.
Good fun with this one!
An endearing cozy mystery that is part of a totally enjoyable series. Love the heroine, love the cat
Great job.
Nice when you want something light to read. Just the right amount of things going on to keep it interesting.
This book was fabulous! I loved the story, mystery and characters as well as the small town feel of the setting. My favorite part was how Elvis thy he cat was truly a character all on his own and the way his body language was narrated. I loved this so much I read it twice. Definitely need to read more of this series!
