This book was billed as a new “Gone With the Wind”. I don’t think so. The main characters dealt with some challenges that were probably pretty typical of the period, but I thought the Lady of the house was just a bit too good to be true; her husband also. The visions they both experienced were also a bit corny, I thought. That said, I did enjoy the book, liked the characters. It was a lighter read than “Gone With the Wind”, which dealt with the topic much more realistically.
I loved the way the author pulled me into the story and kept the suspense going. At the end I didn’t want the story to conclude. I went to the the next book in the series and was not dissapointed. Great storyteller.
