Emotionally decimating
It’s amazing how a life and death situation can make you reassess priorities! Natalie had allowed niggles to become mountains that destroyed their relationship, but when Gavin appears just when she needs him most, she realises that all the things she thought she hated about him….are the things that make her feel safe now. How does she make it right.
Gavin cannot believe he has found Natalie, he is determined to not only keep her safe but also grab this second chance with both hands.
A sweet second chance for a first love…if they can survive the hurricane!
This is an exciting, quick read. I think the romance works so well because it’s a second-chance romance. Natalie and Gavin are likable and believable characters. The addition of the lost boy, Jacob, adds more tenderness and some humor to the story. The plot is fast-paced and full of adventure. The dialogue seems natural for the situation. This is the perfect story if you’re looking for a satisfying, but not lengthy read. I obtained my copy through KU.
A good addition to the series. I will admit to wanting to shake Natalie. She has a tendency to over analyze everything and looks for problems. Also I love storms so I have a hard time empathizing with someone who totally fears them and falls apart. As a first responder, Gavin has learned to compartmentalize his feelings and responses. I enjoyed them learning to open up to each other.
This is a wonderful book by a great author. A must-read!
Nothing like a hurricane to try your feelings & resolve. That’s what happens to Natalie & Gavin have to face in this story. It is a nice, clean book I enjoyed.
Loved this book and love this series — highly recommend!
Loved it! A second chance at love with the one you still love. This one will make you smile. Romance, a storm, more than one rescue, creating new relationships and a hea!!!
A great addition to this delightful series, each book makes the series grow. The characters are well thought out and charmingly realistic. A second chance romance mixed in with the drama of surviving a hurricane. Characters from previous books appear briefly while we meet new ones who will hopefully have a book of their own.
Gavin was working as an EMT when he met Natalie, and they fell in love. But, Natalie misunderstood his stoicism when handling injured people as being cold and unfeeling. So, she called him an unfeeling monster and stormed out of his life. So, Gavin moved on to become a Search and rescue person, while Natalie cashed out her 401K and purchased property in Galveston in view of opening a Bed and Breakfast. Gavin started a vacation in Galveston, not knowing Natalie was there. Then, a hurricane hits the area, and the two are re-united as a result. There are some very scary moments during the hurricane, but thru it all, the two discover they still have feelings for each other. I couldn’t put the book down from start to finish. 5 stars
This was a really sweet second chance story! I liked both characters even though they were little mean to each other when they first reunited but it was just hurt feelings. I loved the little details about their relationship and personalities and there was a great chemistry between the two. The hurricane added some suspense to the story and made the story better as they had to rely on each other to survive.
Loved Natalie and Gavin’s story! I felt the fear of being stuck in a hurricane and no way of escape. I was so happy when help came knocking on the door. I started laughing when they found little Jacob and started giving each other gamer names. What a ride! If you like clean, stories with heart, you can’t go wrong with ‘The Whirlwind Rescue’. I received book from the publisher. The thoughts and comments are my own.
I love this series more with each book! This book is no exception! Natalie and Gavin are a great couple. For Gavin it was love at first sight and nothing has changed for him but they broke up when Natalie had some issues with how he processed his feelings during his high-stress job. Gavin let her go but will never forget her. Fast-forward months and Gavin is training at the elite Disaster Search and Rescue center. While on vacation there is a hurricane in the Galveston area. He’s alone but he immediately goes into rescue mode because that’s the kind of guy he is and imagine his surprise when the first door he knocks on to check on inhabitants is Natalie’s new bed and breakfast! Natalie can’t believe it when she sees Gavin at her door – how did he find her? She’s so scared with the hurricane bearing down on them! You get a lot of discussion about their relationship during this part but what I really enjoyed was the “rescuing” part as they go into the city and you see what FEMA does during a hurricane! That’s what I enjoy about this series – seeing the different parts of rescuing! Delightful book!
A second chance story of a disaster that brings two people back together. Sometimes it takes something drastic to find out that the thing you thought you wanted want really what your heart needed.
