An “emotion-packed” New York Times–bestselling saga by the author of Cashelmara, set on a Welsh family estate in the early twentieth century (San Francisco Chronicle). Tucked in the hills of South Wales is Oxmoon, the ancestral estate of the Godwin family. In the summers before 1914, music streams through the family home as the Godwins, at the height of their prosperity, dance in the ballroom … prosperity, dance in the ballroom with their guests. But despite the remarkable talents of heir-apparent Robert Godwin, the fates have a rough, tough ride planned for him and those he loves. Fortunes shift during two world wars, disastrous love affairs leave the family battered, and finally jealousy threatens to destroy Oxmoon and all it symbolizes. Based on a true story that has been updated to modern times, The Wheel of Fortune is a timeless tale of love, hatred, revenge, redemption, and forgiveness. This ebook features an illustrated biography of Susan Howatch including rare photos and never-before-seen documents from the author’s personal collection.

Lovely read! One of those books that is hard to put down and you hate for it to end. One of the best historical novels I have ever read, I’m looking forward to reading more from Rebecca Gable.
Family history that is unforgettable
I have read all or most of her books and have enjoyed all of them
I loved the writing style, the era, and the development of the characters. I also liked that it was a very long book and was glad it went on and on.
Love all Susan Howatch books, particularly her generational sagas like this one—and her later books about the Church of England!
One of my favorite writers!
read this years ago….loved it!!
The best book I’ve read in a long time. Excellent. Wonderful. Insightful. Ripping fun!!!
Very, very long book which is what makes me want to continue to read. The characters are so well-defined and believable. As a teacher I rarely have time for ‘fun’ reading during the school year, but I’m definitely finding time to get a few pages in here and there at night. I’m recommending this book even though I’m barely half way through it.
Great characters, good writing.
Too long!
I love all Susan Howatch’s books.
Wonderful writer with great character descriptions.
Extremely tedious – occasionally interesting and worth time but more often boring and unrealistic. I do NOT recommend this book.
The author has some very interesting characters and psychological insights into character. But the book was much too long and much to melodramatic for me. I did keep reading it because the plot drew one in but, at times, I thought, “Oh, get real!”
Boring
Excellent read
I seldom abandon a book once I’ve begun reading it, but in this case, i made an exception.
Rather pedantic I’m laying out situations. Awful lot of words to get to the crucial points. Not the caliber of her previous novels.
YAWN. I am 25% of the way through the book and it just isn’t moving fast enough for me. I am starting to skim. If you want a slow-paced book that goes on forever — this is the book for you. I am bored.
Far too long.
