Lydia gathered her skirts. “Shall we drown her in the punch? Drive a violin bow into her left ear? Command us, O General. We shalt do thy bidding.”“I have pins in my reticule…” Ivy looked thoughtful.Lady Maud chuckled. “Nothing so drastic, darlings, but I do appreciate the creativity.” She paused. “Especially the violin bow. I rather like that. Messy, but effective.”Lady Maud Sydenham, on the … effective.”
Lady Maud Sydenham, on the matter of an unwelcome guest, to Miss Lydia Davenport and Miss Ivy Siddington, The Wednesday Club, London, Spring 1818
Ivy Siddington adores her Wednesday Club friends, along with Miss Prudence Hartsmere-Drake, niece of the Duke of Maidenbrooke. Chaperoning Prudence is a delight, but the Duke…well, he’s the kind of problem that keeps a girl awake at night when she’s not dreaming of a hero just like him.
A boorish lackwit, a moment of madness – and the consequent scandal results in a massive upheaval in Ivy’s life. Scarcely able to comprehend it, she finds herself in the middle of an adventure she could never have imagined, and an attraction that quietly grows into passion.
There will be a garden, a madman, and a fountain, not to mention a daring moment of crisis and a cruelly murdered bonnet. But love will triumph, and Ivy’s heart will bloom at last – along with her flowers.

“Your destiny awaits. You have only to be brave enough to grasp it.”
So begins the story of Ivy Siddington and the Duke of Maidenbrooke. While attending the Wednesday Club held by the Syndenhams, they are caught in a compromising position. The only recourse? The Duke announces that they are engaged. Will they actually marry or will they call off the engagement after the furor has died down? And, if they marry, will it be just a convenience or will feelings of love grown between them?
This is another delightful addition to the Wednesday Club series by Sahara Kelly. If you enjoy a good Regency romp, full of humor, intrigue, and a few spicy scenes, you should give this series a try. Ms. Kelly does a great job describing the fashion, culture and life of the upper class and has filled this series with a wonderful collection of colorful characters.
I was given the chance to read this book through the Candid Book Review group and chose to review it.
Ivy, like the other Misses, enjoyed helping her friends and longed to find the love of her life. But the intrigues, the bad wills and the evil seemed to be ready to damage the good things that were ready for her. Interesting and entertaining how these young women struggle with their emotions and the few options at their disposal and get away with it in a world where they are subdued and their behavior is not defined taking into account what is best for them, but for family and society. Ivy’s character was smart, judicious, and supportive to her friends and the duke. Some action, intrigue, suspense and amusing scenes, entertaining descriptions and narrations, a troop of friends eager for action, violence, madness, romance and passion.
A Garden For Ivy by Sahara Kelly
Ivy Siddington is a member of the Wednesday Club and a very sweet and gentle lady. She loves her friends, they always help each other. The Duke of Maidenbrooke(Uncle Colly), has asked her to chaperone Prudence his ward and niece. They were just coming back from their country estate when they saw Ivy leaving their house. Yes, all were going to the Wednesday Club’s dance tonight. She had sat down at the dance with her friends and told them about Sir Ronan O’Malley. He was doing the duke’s new garden and fountain for Prudence’s birthday. How good looking, elegant, black hair, green eyes, and long thick lashes and merry.
A wonderful story with all the elements necessary to make an interesting read. The author did a great job with this book. It is well-plotted, engaging, and entertaining. The characters are supporting, kind, and loyal to their friends. When the duke had some trouble come his way they immediately jumped to help. I very highly recommend this. It is so good.

Love this series and this authors’ regency depiction. I like that Ivy has a sweet and compassionate demeanor with strength and a bit of feisty when the need arises. I think the scandalous upheaval was unfortunate but adds intrigue, adventure and also gently push this couple into their meant to be romantic direction. I like the Duke’s personality as well and they blend well as a couple. Great supporting characters. Thoroughly enjoyed reading this from beginning to end, can’t wait to read what/who’s next. I was provided a free advanced copy without obligation which I am voluntarily reviewing.
Another brilliant addition to the series
This is another brilliantly written addition to a great series. The plot is wonderfully thought out and has characters crafted with the strength and determination necessary to overcome their obstacles and enemies. This is a great book that will suit all those who love steamy historical romances that have a bit of suspense.
Another great book in the Wednesday Club series. The marriage of Colly and Ivy comes in the usual way for the Regency period. They are caught in a compromising position – even if they were not in one. The “courtship” is lovely and sweet. The only question is who is out to get Colly? You have to read to find out. Loved seeing the characters from other books makes appearances and the little flirtation with Prudence and Ronan.
