What a cute story. Definitely short as stated but was nicely written.
I received a free copy of this book from the author, Jenna Brandt, via Bookfunnel and this is my voluntary and honest review. I loved this second chance romance between Derek and Aspen. After a bitter breakup two years earlier, Derek and Aspen are paired together as part of a wedding party for their friends from K-9 rescue groups in Texas. During the reception after the wedding, a tornado hits the resort where they all make it to safety except Aspen. She is knocked out and trapped by debris. Derek’s K-9 dog, Ripley, has to find her. Is she found and do Derek and Aspen get back together as a couple? You will have to read the book to find out. I highly recommend this exciting rescue clean romance.
Second Chance Romance
Although this short story is right in the middle of the series, it stands alone quite nicely while scattering cookies from some of the other stories. A short sweet Second Chance Romance.
Derek was part of the K-9 Search and rescue team but it had come at a price — he had to leave his girlfriend, Aspen behind because of it. K-9 requires a lot of extensive training. However, fate throws them a life rope and they are matched at a friend’s wedding. However, they try and avoid each other – but then a disaster strikes. Will they be able to overcome a natural disaster and fall back in love?
As always the author has written some likeable characters. She has written an original storyline. This is a sweet easy read.
I received a copy of this book through the author – all thoughts are my own.
This short story brings two ex’s together for a wedding of their friends. A tornado hits and the rescuer’s have to get everyone to safety. This story is great for an afternoon read and the story is exciting and uplifting.
A fantastic story that the Author has done a great creative job at bringing the story to life. The world building and Character building are fantastic. And the story really pulls you in. And brings you a fantastic story from start to finish. There’s never a dull moment. I definitely recommend.

Loved this sweet and clean inspirational story — another fantastic addition to this series about heroes and heroines in uniform!!!
I have totally enjoyed this series and Jenna Brandt’s book is a good addition to it. My favorite lines are at the beginning of the book when the groomsmen are discussing Texas weather. I’ve lived in Texas all my life and in Tornado Alley most of it, Jenna Brandt has totally nailed the attitude to have and these responders have it in spades.
I was a little disappointed with this story. It is so short. There is little real background & not a lot happens in the book since it covers only about a 24 hour period.
This was a very quick read. As usual though, Ms. Brandt drew me in quickly and made me fall in love with Derik & Aspen. It was a sweet read too and hope to see more of this couple in the future.
I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Great plot and characters. I volunteered to read an advance copy for an honest review.
Such a cute book. Derik stands up in his friends wedding. Little did he know that the bride was playing matchmaker. Aston shows up and finds out she has been pair with Derik. She is not happy to see her Ex boyfriend who dumped her.
During the reception a storm hits. Derik and team go off looking for Aston who was lost on the way downstairs. Can they overcome the hurt and rekindle their relationship?
Such a wonderful story and I’ll let you find out the rest 🙂
An excellent addition to the series. We get to see the wedding of the characters from the previous story and then Derek’s second chance at love. Of course we get the big dramatic rescue that helps to make this series so special. Love this series and looking forward to the next story.
This is one of my favorite genres and one of my favorite authors.
The characters were so engaging and real to life.
The plot was easy to read, especially the dialogue between the characters.
I really enjoy this series.
Jenna Brant knows what her readers like and delivers it.
I found this story a bit too brief. It seemed to lack the normal lustre that Jenna normally brings to her stories, however, it said what it had to say even if it was a bit rushed.
So in summary, a pleasant story but could have been more exciting.
I read an Advance Reader Copy (ARC) of the ebook and my voluntary review is unbiased and is based on my own thoughts.
This was a nice, short story. I liked how the main characters had to overcome their past in order to be together and I liked the search and rescue dogs. I liked how the main characters knew each other before because them having a past made the speed of the romance make sense. This was a good book.
I received a complimentary book from publishers, publicists, and or authors. A review was not required and all opinions and ideas expressed are my own.
I enjoyed reading this book! It is shorter than I really like but it is a really good story. It’s about a wedding celebration that is interrupted by a tornado. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys romance books!
A heartwarming second chance at love story that was so sweet and a fast read. Derek was part of the K-9 Search and rescue team but it had come at a price. He had to move to do training and work with the team and that meant leaving his girlfriend Aspen behind.
But fate brings them together again at a friends wedding and the love is still there. Between a storm and trying to avoid each other can they find that they were meant to be?
Great story as usual in this excellent series!
Loved this short sweet second chance romance with Derik and Aspen. They were a couple in Dallas until he wanted to further his career which involved him moving away. When they are both in their friends wedding they come face to face even when she tries to avoid him. When disaster strikes in the form of a storm they are drawn together which makes them realize that they never stopped loving each other. Will Derik and Aspen find a way to be together after the storm?
One best man – Disaster search and rescue instructor. And his old girlfriend (who he did not know would be there) is a bridesmaid. Can they forgive each other? Can their love be rescued?
I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All thoughts and comments are my own.
