Tessa Wilson’s life is all over the map. She may be clumsy, but this time she’s stumbled into a pickle by choice, not by accident. She’s agreed to take a month-long trip around Texas jammed into a ’59 Cadillac with a drama-loving teenager, two elderly spitfires, and—oh, yes—her biological mama who gave her away at birth. And the ride gets even crazier when hot-as-sin cowboy Branch Thomas crosses … crosses into her lane. They don’t call him the sexiest man in the Lone Star State for nothin’.
As the miles pass and sparks fly between Tessa and Branch, her grandmother starts dropping hints about family wedding traditions. And as Tessa discovers the power of her budding friendships and the unbreakable strength of her newfound family of strong Texas women, she wonders if she’s also on the road to the biggest adventure of all: true love.

This is truely a magical book full of whit funny one liners and two old birds who march to the beat of their own drum. Highly recommended total 5 star read from me.
I can’t get enough of Carolyn Brown’s Women’s Fiction books. Her characterization skills are out of this world! The two older women in this book are outrageous, wonky and still filled with so much love that it makes you ache to actually meet them.
This is a book about a road trip that an adopted woman, Tessa, ends up taking with her birth mother and grandmother and various and sultry others shortly after meeting them for the first time. They travel the state of Texas in an old Cadillac and basically do whatever the older women want to do. Her grandmother has hired one of her lawyers to drive and there’s definitely a little heat between Tessa and Branch. This trip will either drive Tessa totally bat wing crazy or be the answers to all her prayers.
Another incredible book by Carolyn Brown! So funny and touching at the same time!
Frankie and Ivy are my inspirations as I draw closer to their ages! They made mistakes throughout their lives but remained to themselves and each other. Its a beautiful story and a must read!
Author Carolyn Brown, never one to disappoint, has written a touching novel that has a mixture of emotions and a realistic feel to it. Tessa Wilson has always known she was adopted but when handsome lawyer Branch Thomas informs her that her birth mother, Lola, and grandmother, Frankie, would like to meet her and go on a road trip around the state of Texas, she was unsure how to respond. Encouraged by her adopted mother Sophie, she decides to meet the mother who never wanted her. Tessa is in turmoil when she begins to feel love towards her birth mother and grandmother. As the road trip begins, Tessa loves hearing grandmother Frankie and her best friend, Ivy tell the stories of the past. Ivy’s 16 year old great niece Melody would rather be anywhere else right now, then traveling around the state of Texas! As the days progress, so does the attraction between Tessa and good looking Branch. The trip is cut short after some sad news but Tessa has found out so much about her birth family. Will Tessa be able to return to her old life or will her future look even brighter? This is such an amazing book with a mixture of laughter and tears, I highly recommend it to everyone!
Great book!!
