As seen on The Today Show! The new exhilarating New York Times bestselling romance from the author of The Proposal, a Reese Witherspoon x Hello Sunshine Book Club Pick! Maddie and Theo have two things in common: 1. Alexa is their best friend 2. They hate each other After an “oops, we made a mistake” night together, neither one can stop thinking about the other. With Alexa’s wedding rapidly … together, neither one can stop thinking about the other. With Alexa’s wedding rapidly approaching, Maddie and Theo both share bridal party responsibilities that require more interaction with each other than they’re comfortable with. Underneath the sharp barbs they toss at each other is a simmering attraction that won’t fade. It builds until they find themselves sneaking off together to release some tension when Alexa isn’t looking, agreeing they would end it once the wedding is over. When it’s suddenly pushed up and they only have a few months left of secret rendezvouses, they find themselves regretting that the end is near. Two people this different can’t possibly have a connection other than the purely physical, right?
But as with any engagement with a nemesis, there are unspoken rules that must be abided by. First and foremost, don’t fall in love.

I still haven’t read the first book in this series, however I did read the second book, The Proposal a while back.
I will say, I liked this book better than The Proposal.
I like Theo and Maddie right from the start, and I did like the snark between them, , though I think calling it an enemies is a bit of a stretch. They don’t really know each other, and they say they hate each other, but it is not really that at all. But this could just be me.
You can’t deny the attraction between them though. Spark fly, and clothes fly off whenever they are alone together.
I did roll my eyes a bit at them keeping things a secret – dudes, you are both best friends with the same person, they are going to know what it going on.
The pacing was a little off at times as well, it slowed right down in the middle with them doing the same ol same ol, then bam the end was really fast. We didn’t really get to see the romance develop between our lovelies.
However, I am invested enough to keep going with the series, and I have the next book ready and waiting on my Kindle thanks to Berkeley and Netgalley!
THE WEDDING PARTY is a DELIGHTFUL book from Jasmine Guillory — it’s the third in a series that started with THE WEDDING DATE, following the same group of friends, and it’s full of saucy banter, dreamy love interests, and also enchiladas. Absolutely perfect for your vacation reading.
I loved Guillory’s first book “The Wedding Date” and her romantic but realistic tale of how a one-night stand between two amazing, but very different, people grows into the relationship of a lifetime. I didn’t love her second book “The Proposal” quite as much, but Guillory is 100 percent back on her game in “The Wedding Party.” It is full of fun tropes: enemies to lovers, secret dating, etc. Perfect for a summer read.
My introduction to Jasmine Guillory came via a non-fiction author (Roxane Gay). When I read her recommendation for Guillory’s work I had to read because I’ve been a long-time fan of Ms. Gay. I have not been disappointed in these stories. Time and time again she has grabbed my attention and kept me engaged with her well-drawn characters who are most often professionals navigating the dating scene. This book follows that same pattern and I find myself identifying with these characters who aren’t vapid airheads, but who have careers that are interesting and believable, as well as love lives that aren’t so fantastical that you’re never likely to find a similar experience for yourself. Her stories relate to me as more romantic women’s fiction than fairy tale romance, and for this reason I’ll continue to pick up her books when they are published. In this story, you’ll find her new couple, Maddie and Theo, as well as cameos from Alexa and Drew, and even Carlos. Get your copy today!
I loved “The Wedding Party” by Jasmine Guillory. I can see why people have been raving about this author’s writing, and I wish I hadn’t waited so long to pick up one of her books.
Theo and Maddie were endearing, well-developed main characters, and I loved how they fought their feelings for each other but still couldn’t help falling in love. The secondary characters, particularly the couples that had been featured in the previous two books in this series, were also delightful. In addition, Theo’s brother Ben was a lot of fun and it would be great to see him get a story of his own in the future.
I hadn’t read either of the earlier books in the series prior to starting this one, but this book stands very well on its own, so I didn’t feel lost at all. I will definitely be going back and reading the first two books now, though!

I won this book from Goodreads. Another pleasant rom-com from the author. I found it to be a pleasant but predictable read. A great beach novel.
Devoured this one! My new favorite of hers so far. A one-night stand between staid, focused Theo and lively stylist Maddie turns into a secret affair they both hide from their best friend Alexa, planning to cut it off after Alexa’s wedding. Do things get complicated? Of course they do. In all the most enjoyable (for the reader, anyway) ways.
Another great page turner by Jasmine Guillory. I loved how unpredictable this book was. At this point im binging on this series! They are all so good! A must read!
I am glad to have started moving in order with this series now because there were simultaneous events occuring with the wedding. I liked seeing the characters from the previous books and continuing their stories as they intertwined with Maddie and Theo. Jasmine Guillory wrote Maddie as a character who is independent and stays true to herself, which I enjoy seeing represented in books! I cannot wait to continue reading and see how these lives entwine.
I have such a soft spot for the heroine who doesn’t have it all together – and the couple who are thrown together by a wedding. I adore Maddie and Theo and loved watching the two of them overcome their initial preconceptions about one another – triggered in part by Theo’s foot-in-mouth disease. Also – any book which gives a shout out to the Great British Bake-Off is a winner.
Both the author, Jasmine Guillory, and the narrator, Janina Edwards are new to me. They both impressed me and I became a fan of both.
The book is an “enemies-to-lovers” story with the main characters, Theo and Maddie hating each other in the beginning until they gave in to spending one steamy night together. Although they like the physical aspect of their relationship, they kept their romantic entanglement a secret from their friend, Alexa, and other people that they know. That is a solid premise that brought on the banter between the characters, the laughter, and the happily ever after conclusion. I love the story and the narrator! Enough said!!
Very well written. Both characters are strong-minded and their test of wills is exhilarating but their romantic moments are so sweet even though they try to pretend otherwise. This is my new favorite in this series. I was completely enthralled from beginning to end, such a heartwarming story.
I enjoyed The Wedding Party. Theo and Maddie were great characters. I loved the love/hate pull that started the book and the relationship grow throughout the book. I loved their attraction and the realization that their relationship means more than just attraction and sexual pull. I am eager to explore other Jasmine Guillory books.
Cute entry in the romance series by Jasmine Guillory. It was nice to revisit with the couples from The Wedding Date and The Proposal in this book.
Maddie and Theo, both friends of Alexa dislike each other, but when they are together at the end of a party, they end up on bed. They agree that it was a bad idea, but it happens again. They enjoy being together, but swear to keep their relationship secret from everyone, including Alexa.
This story is about friendship and love. Cute story with a happy ever after ending.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I love the glamorous write up about the book. It made me want to change up or spice up my own life. Thanks so much for writing this book.
I’ve had The Wedding Party by Jasmine Guillory on my TBR since last summer and finally got a chance to read it. I read it for the #Romanceopoly2020 Challenge, and it completed one of my Library squares for the challenge.
I was happy to be able to read the third book in Jasmine Guillory’s The Wedding Date series since it was Theo and Maddie’s book. These two were introduced in the first book since they’re Alexa’s best friends. These two are supposed to hate each other until they end up kissing. Now they can’t stop thinking about each other. They end up hooking up further than a kiss in the book, and they want to make sure their best friend Alexa doesn’t ever find out about them. They make a pact not to tell Alexa and also not fall in love. Unfortunately, these two characters are going to end up falling for each other. It’s inevitable. They both were apart of Alexa’s Wedding party and would end up seeing each other more than they wanted in the story.
I was excited that this book was an Enemies-to-Lovers book because it’s one of my favorite tropes, although Theo and Maddie drove me crazy in this book. They hated each other, but not really. I’ve read so many Enemies-to-Lovers that their relationship was not the hatred kind. I felt their connection with each other was more of an annoyance, not hatred. Although I did feel the tension at the end of the book when Maddie ended up overhearing a conversation with Theo and his brother, Ben, it was not a pretty scene at all.
Although this book only got 3.5-stars, I did still enjoy some aspects of the story. I loved that Jasmine Guillory had this story be involved with Alexa and Drew’s wedding. I enjoyed those two in their book, which was the first book in the series. Alexa and Drew played a big part in this book, and I loved the ending of this book. Nope, not spoiling the conclusion of the book, but I will say it was the best part of the book. I knew it was going to happen.
I’m looking forward to diving into the next book in the series when I have some time to sneak in with my other books I need to read.
I received a complimentary copy of the book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
I truly enjoy this entire series.
I was waiting for Maddie to get her day!
Maddie and Theo both had depth, character, charming and love-able personalities and their banter made for a delightful read. I liked how they both had their own careers and interests, however complimented each other well. It seemed as if when they were together, they brought out the best in each other.
And man did they have chemistry! Whew 😉
I loved Maddie and Theo and I am glad they found their way to each other and to their happy ending.
I am excited to read The Proposal next.
Third in not quite a series. Delightful people of color not segregated from the world.
Jasmine Guillory books are hard to pass up. I enjoyed this book, but it wasn’t the page-turner and the sink-in-the-couch-cushions and swoon book that her other ones were for me. Still, I will read her other books without a doubt.
If I had to rank this delightful series of standalone from Jasmine Guillory (who became a must read author for me after I read her first book), it’d go: The Wedding Date, The Wedding Party, and the The Proposal. Other than the sort of fade to black (and mildly repetitive) nature of the sex scenes, I really enjoyed Theo and Maddie’s opposites attract/enemies to lovers/hate to love romance. I enjoyed the experience of getting to know them as they got to know each other and that they each were layered and so much more than the other initially thought. The clandestine nature of their relationship added a bit of fun and intensity to the story that kept me turning the pages to find out when they were (inevitably) going to be caught (and even that was written in a great and entertaining way). Plus we got cameos from the couples in the first two books and met the heroine of the next one (which I so can’t wait to read), so The Wedding Party (and it’s gorgeous sparkling cover) is a delight from beginning to end. 4 out of 5 wine glasses.
