New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Katee Robert continues her smoking-hot series about the O’Malleys-wealthy, powerful, and full of scandalous family secrets. Carrigan O’Malley has always known her arranged marriage would be more about power and prestige than passion. But after one taste of the hard-bodied, whiskey-voiced James Halloran, she’s ruined for anyone else. Too bad James … ruined for anyone else. Too bad James and his family are enemy number 1.
Hallorans vs. O’Malleys-that’s how it’s always been. James should be thinking more about how to expand his family’s empire instead of how silky Carrigan’s skin is against his and how he can next get her into his bed. Those are dangerous thoughts. But not nearly as dangerous as he’ll be if he can’t get what he wants: Carrigan by his side for the rest of their lives.

Do yourself a favor, and just buy the whole series. Like, every single one.
I was on the edge of my seat for most of this book. So much suspense. I needed more from Carrigan and James from the little snippet we got from the first book. Carrigan was such a strong character. Their romance was hot and steamy. I will be continuing this series.
James Halloran can’t get Carrigan O’Malley off his mind, after holding her prisoner when everything between the families went down, he’s the last man she wants to see again…so why is she unable to resist him?
Mafia stories are either a hit or miss for me, and this series definitely keeps me on my toes, me immediately wanting to start the next book as soon as it ends. A perfect blend of the cold-hearted side of mafia and the love you can find with the right person, even an enemy.
Hook. Line. Sinker.
I’m caught and trapped in this amazing world that Katee Robert has created.
Book two of this amazing series, an O’Malley gets an involved with an enemy. A sexy, blue eyed, rough around the edges enemy. An enemy with expiration date since Carrigan O’Malley’s time is up and she needs to marry someone who her father chooses.
I have to say, I love that Ms. Robert is writing this story as if you were watching a mob movie. You not only get the main character’s point of view, you’re getting a glimpse of the O’Malley family as a whole. And although I’m not a fan of multiple POV’s, this is written in a way it’s essential and critical to know who’s hand is at play and why.
In addition, the scenes, oh yes. Mr. Halloran will have you hoping he locks you in closet, with him.
The only peeve I have with this book, there are small time inconsistencies. Not enough to make me change my rating or feeling for the series, but it’s a little annoying. Hopefully this isn’t happening in the remaining books that I plan to devour for the next few days.
If you haven’t met the O’Malleys, Sheridans, and Hallorans… you are seriously missing out. This is a must read series that Ms. Robert is truly luring her readers with.
My favorite of the O’Malley series…hands down!
James knows how to take a damn good picture, “James was shirtless , wearing only those goddamn jeans she couldn’t seem to get enough of. And they were unbuttoned—a clear invitation if she ever saw one. An invitation she desperately wanted to accept. “Damn, James. Somebody taught you how to selfie.” I enjoyed this book I loved James.
It seems high-profile crime families are their own kind of royalty, entwining together families, assets, and resources via the strategically arranged marriages of their children. At least that is the situation our heroine finds herself in. But she just happens to be in love with the enemy. Talk about Romeo and Juliet.
Katee Robert knows how to write romantic suspense. The O’Malleys series is the first crime family series I have ever read and I am enjoying the new scenery. In my opinion, the ratio of family drama/strategy/crime to romance isn’t exactly equal. Ms. Robert started the book by kinda sorta dedicating it to Tiffany Reisz, and if any of you readers out there have had the true pleasure of reading the amazing Ms. Reisz then you will know that is no insignificant dedication. It is a disclaimer. This book will be on fire! It’s pretty explicit and heavy on the romance um…sex, both of which I didn’t necessarily mind, but I also wouldn’t mind a bit more of the crime family component too. Needless to say I enjoyed The Wedding Pact and am enjoying this series overall. If this sounds like something you might like, then give it a shot. I’ve never read a Katee Robert book I didn’t like!
My favorite quote:
“Sometimes I fantasize about getting in a car and driving until I find some tiny little town where no one’s heard of the O’Malleys and where everyone knows everyone else and things are just simpler.” … “I figure those small town people have their own problems and secrets and bullsh#t. It’s the human condition.”
The O’Malleys series includes the following installments as of November 2017.
#1-The Marriage Contract
#2-The Wedding Pact
#3-An Indecent Proposal
#4-Forbidden Promises
#5-Undercover Attraction
