Four brides. One Dress.
A tale of faith, redemption, and timeless love
Charlotte owns a chic Birmingham bridal boutique. Dressing brides for their big day is her gift… and her passion. But with her own wedding day approaching, why can’t she find the perfect dress or feel certain she should marry Tim?
Then Charlotte discovers a … find the perfect dress or feel certain she should marry Tim?
Then Charlotte discovers a vintage dress in a battered trunk at an estate sale. It looks brand-new, shimmering with pearls and satin, hand-stitched and timeless in its design. But where did it come from? Who wore it? Who welded the lock shut and tucked the dog tags in that little sachet? Who left it in the basement for a ten-year-old girl? And what about the mysterious man in the purple vest who insists the dress had been redeemed.
Charlotte’s search for the gown’s history, and its new bride, begins as a distraction from her sputtering love life. But it takes on a life of its own as she comes to know the women who have worn the dress. Emily from 1912. Mary Grace from 1939. Hillary from 1968. Each with her own story of promise, pain, and destiny. And each with something unique to share. For woven within the threads of the beautiful hundred-year-old gown is the truth about Charlotte’s heritage, the power of courage and faith, and the timeless beauty of finding true love.
“The story of four loveable women, miraculously bound by one gown, whose lives span a century . . . will take your breath away.” —Beth Webb Hart, bestselling author of Love, Charleston

I really enjoyed the characters in this book and the story was such a sweet read. Perfect for that get away from things read.
A delightful blending of historical and contemporary.
I loved this book. It’s clearly a fiction book, and yet at the same time the characters are so believable. I really loved the multiple love stories and how they all came together in such a beautiful way. It made me cry with delight!
The Wedding Dress by Rachel Hauck is a lovely story of the truth and beauty that lies inside, just waiting for a chance to come out. I’m an avid time travel fan and a sucker for romance, so the combination of the two lured me in and got me hooked. I loved Charlotte and her wedding shop and the mysterious dress that presents so many opportunities …
This book had a little bit of mystery in it, as the reader is trying to figure out what happened long ago with this dress. It also has good Christian characters in it.
It’s important to note that this book is definitely Christian fiction. If you’re hoping it plays a backseat, it does not. You won’t be able to read around it. That being said, some of the theology isn’t exactly what I believe. There’s a bit of the…supernatural to it. I don’t mind a little fantasy to my fiction but it did feel a bit out of place …
I loved this book. This story and it’s characters will pull you in from the very beginning.
What a neat way to explain the history of various characters all connected by the wedding dress. Explanations spanned generations, time frames and the ups and downs of everyday life. I will explore this author if more books are available.
If you like ancestory type of stuff, you will love the story of a woman discovering the history of the wedding dress. Between history and romance, this novel was hard to put down.
I read this book for our monthly book club meeting. I didn’t really know what to expect and I was pleasantly surprised and delighted with this touching story.
Charlotte Malone has been an orphan since she was twelve years old. She never her knew who her father was, and as an adult she misses her mother desperately. She has so many unanswered …
This was an interesting look at the history of a wedding gown and the stories of each bride who wore it. Each story is unique and touching in its own way. I enjoyed the premise for this story and the journey that Charlotte took to find the owner of this unique wedding gown. Full review is at my website.
I loved this new take on a classic trope – one wedding dress to fit different women over generations. This book is heartwarming, beautifully written and will have you hooked. It combines historical romance, contemporary romance and themes of second chances, grief and finding your way. Romantic with threads of faith running through it; I know …
I really enjoyed how it showed the dress through time and the stories of the lives that were changed by the dress. The main female character buys a trunk that is welded up and she is getting ready to get married and discovers a wedding dress in the trunk once she gets it open. She slowly learns the lineage of rhe dress and the other woman who had …
I received this book from the Fiction Guild for an honest review and I am not being paid to do so. I so enjoy Rachel’s writing. This is a beautiful story about a dress that was made in 1912 for a woman who, actually had to dresses made for her. The dress her mother wanted her to marry was one who dressed the ladies of society which what her mother …
Given this is Christian literature, I have no idea how I stumbled across “The Wedding Dress” but I’m glad I did. This story has almost everything you could want: a blend of historical and contemporary; heartache, joy, suspense, duty, family, destiny and a beautiful cast of characters – Mary Grace and her husband of 70+ years (Thomas) were my …
