I can’t believe I have to go home to Nebraska for my sister’s wedding. I’m gonna need a wingman and a whole lot of vodka for this level of family interaction. At least my bestie agreed he’d man up and help. Too bad he had to catch a different flight than me. Then his plane got delayed. And finally–because bad things always happen in threes–instead of my best friend, his evil twin strolls out of … of the airport.
If you looked up doesn’t-deserve-to-be-that-confident, way-too-hot-for-his-own-good billionaire in the dictionary, you’d find a picture of Will Holt. He’s awful. Horrible. The worst–even if his butt looks phenomenal in those jeans.
Ten times worse? My buffer was supposed to be there to keep me away from the million and one family events. But Satan’s spawn just grins and signs us up for every. Single. Thing.
Fine. “Cutthroat” Scrabble? I’m in. I can’t wait to take this guy down a notch.
But somewhere between Pictionary and the teasing glint in his eyes, our bickering starts to feel like more than just a game…

“The Wedding Date Disaster” was everything I’ve come to expect from one of Avery Flynn’s books: laugh-out-loud funny, charming, and sweet, with just the right amount of steam. I highly recommend it for all fans of contemporary romance and romantic comedy, especially those who enjoy a good enemies-to-lovers and/or fake relationship tale.
The main characters of this story, Hadley and Will, were both very likeable and well-developed, and I enjoyed their snarky banter immensely. Even when they supposedly hated each other, they couldn’t quite hide their strong mutual attraction. I couldn’t wait for them to stop fighting and finally give into their feelings! Will and Hadley were both dealing with more emotional baggage than was immediately apparent, and the connection they formed while spending time together on Hadley’s family ranch was lovely. I think it surprised them both to realize how much they understood about what the other was going through, but their relationship really brought out the best in both of them and helped them overcome a lot of what was holding them back from moving forward with their lives.
Aside from Hadley and Will, I adored the book’s secondary characters, who added a tremendous amount of depth and humor to the narrative. First, there was Will’s twin brother Web, who was also Hadley’s best friend and played an instrumental role in bringing the two of them together. In addition, I enjoyed getting to know Hadley’s family, particularly her grandfather, PawPaw, who never hesitated to say exactly what he was thinking or show off his competitive nature. Hadley’s siblings were a lot of fun too, and it would be great to read stories about them (and Web!) in the future.
Overall, I absolutely loved “The Wedding Date Disaster” and can’t wait to see what Avery Flynn comes up with next!

The Wedding Date Disaster is a cute romantic read that you can finish in one sitting. From the story to the characters, it’s an entertaining book! There’s total shenanigans! I loved Hadley’s family! The closeness, love and support made you feel right at home. Hadley was great too. Will is another story. It took me a bit to warm up to him. By the end, I had felt differently. The chemistry between the two was good. Unexpected but good. Gotta love PawPaw!
The cover is so beautiful! It gives off wedding vibes BIG TIME and I love it.
I enjoyed this book and yes I finished it in one sitting. Between the family, shenanigans, and the romance, I laughed and cried. Good times! This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I really like her storytelling style. I will look for more books by her! I give this 4 stars.
The Wedding Date Disaster is another excellent book by Avery Flynn. Her books are sassy, romantic, filled with a taste of strife, and fun.
Hadley Donovan is headed to Nebraska for a week to prepare for her younger sister’s wedding. Her family is a lot to take so she asks her best friend Web to accompany her. When Web’s plane lands in Denver shortly after her’s, Hadley can’t wait to see him. What better way to spend a 5-hour road trip to her family’s ranch than with her bestie?! Except, as her tall, good-looking friend swaggers across the airport toward her, Hadley realizes is isn’t Web – it’s his identical twin brother, Will. The evil twin, the twin that Hadley can’t stand. Now she has to figure out how to survive the week with not only her family but the nuisance in the best looking pair of jeans and cowboy hat ever. This week is going to be a nightmare.
Will knows that Hadley is just playing with her brother, trying to figure out some way to latch on to all the Holt money. When Web is unable to fly to Denver to meet Hadley, Will volunteers. What better way to keep Hadley away from Web and prove that she’s just like all the other golddiggers, right? Eventually, the chemistry between them changes from hatred to something else and Hadley and Will fight against it until it’s no longer possible to deny. When they open up to one another the truth in Hadley’s past made me emotional for her loss and how that loss set her up and made her the person she is today. Finally discussing her past trauma also allowed her to open up and be truthful with her family. She is not all put together and successful like they think she is. In fact, she’s currently the exact opposite, but she put on a brave face and tried to fake it-til she made it.
Will also has a traumatic past concerning an ex-girlfriend. His experiences with the ex are why he’s the way his is today. When you have a lot of money, people who say they are your friends and love you, come out of the woodwork. He and Web have worked extremely hard to keep Holt together, profitable, and successful. His ex stomped on his feelings and his heart and now Will assumes all women who show him and Web any sort of attention are just out for their money and their name.
The Wedding Date Disaster may be classified as a romcom but it is so much more. The author took two imperfect characters and made them completely perfect for each other. There are tears, judgments made, assumptions to boot, but there is also family, truthfulness, love, and joy. And let’s not forget about PawPaw!!
One of my favorite romance tropes, this book is one of the best enemies-to-lovers book I have ever read.
I was provided a copy of this book to read.
The Wedding Date Disaster is an absolute delight! I LOVED it! From the first page to the last. So fun, witty and charming. And I loved the nod to Han Solo! I laughed out loud at that one! Hadley and Will’s tale is an epically awesome winner!
The Wedding Date Disaster is one of those “I liked it, but…” books. Hadley and Will were OK characters, but it was hard to really buy into their animosity for the most part. Will especially was OTT with his dislike/distrust of her–his past is supposed to make the case for this, but IMO it didn’t really. Hadley also goes to extremes–referring to Will as Web’s (her BFF) “evil twin” and outright lying to her family about her big city life, to the level that she doesn’t even want to go home for fear that too much family interaction will reveal all of her secrets. There was a bit of eye rolling going on as I read.
Ok, maybe more than a bit.
But…the family game nights were pretty darn funny, and the epilogue was really pretty cute. Avery Flynn tends to be a hit or miss author for me anyway, so there is a pretty good chance that I might pick up Web’s book if it comes out, even though his “evil twin’s” wasn’t my favorite.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Great story line but I got bored…
I’m hoping this is the beginning of another of Avery’s delightful series… we still haven’t gotten Web or Fiona married off…
3.5 stars.
Super fun.
Here we meet Will and Hadley; with his twin brother, they are one of the biggest fortunes in the city; she’s best friend with said twin and now in need of a date for her sister’s wedding.
I really liked these two; Hadley was lovely and fun and I just loved her. Loved her drive to be better and help others. I wasn’t a fan of her lying to her family, but I could understand her reason, tbh. And that’s what brought her so many problems, it’s hard to keep the lies all the time, lol.
Will was a jerk, plain and simple. His assumptions about Hadley were ridiculous and awful. How she didn’t punch him, is beyond me. However, they guy did change and learned from his mistakes. He was funny when he let his guard down and stopped being a jerk to Hadley. 😛
All in all, it was a fun read. Loved their interactions and Hadley’s family was a treat, lol.
*Thank you to Entangled Publishing for providing a copy for which I’m giving my honest opinion*
This was a great enemies to lovers romance. The push and pull between Hadley and Will was fun and frustrating and sexy. Will thought Hadley was trying to get his twin brother Web’s money. So Will did everything in his power to hate Hadley. Hadley was going to her sister’s wedding and Web was her plus one. But at the airport, Will appeared, not Web. It was too late for Hadley to back out so she begrudgingly went to her family’s farm with Will. Their constant bickering turned into more. They were hot together until it wasn’t. I loved this story. I loved Hadley’s family. This was a cute romance that you can’t go wrong with.
From the blurb, I was quite excited for this enemies-to-lovers romcom story with a small-town ranch setup and a billionaire hero. But I was quite disappointed at the execution and the characters that I couldn’t give it a perfect rating …
Growing up in a small town, Hadley Donavan moves to a big city, working hard towards her goal of opening her own charitable-giving consulting firm. She’s become best friends with Web Holt, who promises to accompany her back home pretending to be her boyfriend at her sister’s wedding. However, the person showing up at the airport is none other than his identical twin brother Will Holt, CEO of the multi-billion Holt Enterprises and her nemesis!
After being deceived by his ex-fiancée, Will is cynical and suspicious at everyone, assuming the worst in them and that they are after the Holt brothers for their money. Never believing in their friendship, Will sets out to prevent Web from falling for Hadley, calling her a gold digger and fortune hunter. As much as they hate each other, they couldn’t deny their physical attraction and the sparks between them…
I just feel that the romance development is not quite convincing. Up until 60% of the book, Will still thinks of Hadley as a gold digger who targets his easygoing brother, and then towards the end, due to some misunderstandings, targets Will himself! And heartbroken as she is, Hadley just takes him back when he asks her for another chance after he realizes how wrong he has been about her ! The bottom line is, I think Will is just a jerk , and I wish to see him grovel much harder!
Another point that is rather annoying to me is the overuse of super long hyphenated adjectives, to the point of if-I-see-it-one-more-time-I-will-snap kind of frustration ! It does get better towards the end, but it is pretty much in every other paragraph in the beginning. It somewhat takes away my enjoyment, but it’s just my personal feeling .
If you don’t mind all these and are looking for a light, quick read, with hot sexy times and country cowboy vibes, this book is for you!
3.5-read for me!

The Wedding Date Disaster by Avery Flynn was a fun and charming enemies to lovers romance. Hadley’s family thinks she is living her best life and she does not want them to know the truth. The answer? Her best friend to the rescue as her fake boyfriend. Nothing can go wrong, right? But imagine her surprise when it’s not her best friend who joins her, but his very evil twin Will. He does not like her, so how will this go? I had so much reading Hadley and Will’s story. I loved their back and forth banter and just laughed so much. I truly enjoyed this story and highly recommend it.
Happy reading!
This was a cute, quick, fun read!
Hadley has to go back home for her sister’s wedding. She hasn’t exactly been telling her family the truth about her big city adventures and is dreading going home. She convinces her best friend, billionaire Web Holt to escort her. But Web has a twin brother, Will, who runs the family business and is suspect of every woman after being tricked by one in his past. He can’t imagine that a man and woman can be best friends and nothing. Will thinks that Hadley is trying to get her claws into Web and then get his money.
But, Web and Hadley are just friends. However, Hadley thinks that Will is hot! The night before he’s leaving to go to the wedding Will’s brother makes dinner and Web ends up sick with food poisoning. To make up for this disaster, Will promises to take Web’s place at the wedding. Hadley immediately notices that it’s Will getting off the plane and not Web.
Will this weekend be a complete disaster or will these two turn their dislike for each other into something more? Trust me when I tell you that the family is crazy funny and you’re in for a fun read with this one! A great enemies-lovers story!
Love a hilarious rom-com mixed in with a huge nosy family? I laughed until I cried! Game Night was hilarious, and Paw Paw is a hoot! This is Avery Flynn at her best!
****4.5 Stars***
When I see a book is written by Avery Flynn, I know I’m in for lots of laughter, sexy times, usually a few tears, and I love every single moment. When Hadley Donavon needs a pretend date for her sister’s wedding, she asks her best friend Web Holt. Everything is perfect until she discovers his “evil” twin Will in his place. Will and Hadley have been at odds pretty much from the moment they met, as Will believes Hadley is only friends with his brother to try and get to the Holt fortune.
I adored both Hadley and Will so much from the very first. They had such amazing chemistry and I loved watching them go from adversaries to lovers before either really saw it coming. I really didn’t love Will when we first met him. He was so suspicious of Hadley for no reason other than his ex had only been in a relationship with him to increase her social standing and finances. I really felt sorry for him at first, and hated he seemed to paint all women with that jaded brush. Hadley had her own problems with being home. She had painted her life in Harbor City as perfection, only to be fired right before her sister’s wedding with no prospects of a job when she returns.
The humor and the chemistry between Hadley and Will kept me reading late into the night as I couldn’t put the book down. I saw so much growth with both characters, especially in how they dealt with one another and especially their families. I loved that Web put the mirror up to Will’s face and helped Will to finally realize why he gave Hadley so much crap from day one. I also loved how Hadley finally had to come clean with not only her sister but her entire family about what was really going on in her life in Harbor City. I have to say I adored her family so much and they had me laughing out loud many times as I read this story. This book was so very family-centric and that is something I’ve come to expect and love from books by Avery Flynn.
The Wedding Date Disaster was such a fun, sweet, and sexy romance. Fans of romantic comedies will find this book to be like catnip and much like me, want more from all the characters. The Wedding Date Disaster was everything I was looking for in a romantic comedy and just what I needed to read at this time.

Ok first off, I really need to gush about this beautiful, priceless cover! The colors, the title, the image it POPS so well and really has a reader yearning to know what the book is about.
Second, this book was A TON OF FUN! Sexy, sizzling, witty, hilarious and brilliant The Wedding Date Disaster was impossible to put down and incredibly entertaining! Avery Flynn is one of my favorite romantic comedy authors. The way she writes a story, you know you are going to be getting something magical and fun. Something worth dropping EVERYTHING for. The Wedding Date Disaster was perfection and it left me completely happy and swooning all over the place.
The Wedding Date Disaster gets a HILARIOUS FIVE PRICELESS STARS!
I loved this so much! It was hard to put this down. Before I knew it, it was all over. Lots of laughs and a few sad moments. You can never go wrong with an Avery Flynn book.
Hadley Donovan is heading home for her little sister’s wedding. Her plan is to take her best friend Web, who’ll pretend to be her boyfriend and help her avoid some of the family activities. But the man making his way toward her isn’t Web but his evil twin Will.
Will Holt is awful. So arrogant and sure that Hadley is up to no good. He knows she’s after their family’s money. It’s his job to look out for his brother. And he plans on exposing her for what she really is a “golddigger.”
But not before giving in to the attraction they both can feel simmering between them.
There are plenty of laughs to be had in this book, not just because of the friction, tension and attraction between Hadley and Will but also with Hadleys family and Wills brother Web. Hadley and Will loath each other but are now stuck with other for a week due to ……well you need to read it and find out. during their time together we get to meet Hadleys crazy family with PawPaw being my absolute fave and they also start to get to really know each other with plenty a surprise coming out like the more than one reason Will hates Hadley. You will laugh loads, get frustrated, want to shake sense into Will and keep turning the page hoping that they can both see what a great match they are for each other!!
Great Enemy to lovers’ story!
I really liked the character of Hadley. She was fun, smart, kind, sassy, and loyal to those that she loves. I understood her love of her family even if they drove her crazy. She stayed true to herself this whole book and didn’t get all pissy when she first found out how Will thought of her.
Will was a great character. He was a guy that you really liked in his charming ways but he also made you want to throat punch him. He was so sure Hadley was just like his ex that he self-sabotaged everything.
I loved the banter between these two. I also liked Will meeting the family and seeing what a close family was like.
The Wedding Date Disaster was a laugh out loud funny read that kept me entertained all the way through the book. Hadley and Will have some crazy chemistry working even as they try to convince themselves that they hate each other. When they finally put their defenses down and enjoy each other things really get interesting. For a light entertaining read this is the book for you. I highly recommend it.
Avery is definitely an author that I can pick up and know it’s going to be a great read. She has a way of connecting hilarious moments, with a bit of angst, and tops it with some amazingly developed characters.
Hadley is unsure of her place in life’s he came from rural Nebraska, but has always had big city dreams. With a bit of determination and work, she lands in the big city; but quickly finds that luck is not on her side and time after time is put into positions that she can’t find her way out of. This includes her relationship with her best friend, Web. It’s not Web that has any issues with Hadley, but his twin brother, Will.
Will is an arrogant (but also gorgeous) man that is willing to bet his fortune on Hadley’s gold-digger ways. He is certain she is out to take his brother for all he has (and he knows first-hand just how his brother will pan out if he loses his mind for a woman like Hadley). He also makes no point in showing his distaste for Hadley.
Unforeseen circumstances land them at one another’s mercy, though, when Hadley is forced to return to her hometown without a job or date; even though her family is banking on having an ultra-successful Hadley coming home. Will takes his chance at being stuck with Hadley and her family in order to prove to Will that she is just after his money.
Avery not only allows humor and witty scenes to showcase through her writing; but she takes moments to show the characters vulnerabilities and uncertainties in order to make them more realistic and relatable. This book as no exception. The characters definitely had to grow and learn and find forgiveness in a lot of ways. In the end, we find softening of hearts and bursting of egos so that Hadley and Will find common ground on how to exist in the same universe (and especially in the same room).
Such a fun read! Thank you Avery for sharing this with me, I so enjoyed it 🙂
