The tabloids call her the Hit and Run Bride after reality show star Annamae Jessup walked out on Atlanta’s favorite baseball player on cable television. Eager to escape her notoriety, Annamae takes a road trip to find the grandmother she’s never met and winds up discovering a whole lot more than a band of back woods relatives. There’s no escape from reality TV, even in Beulah, Alabama, population … population 3000.
The last thing Wynn Rafferty needs in his new life is a spoiled television princess who can’t even know his real name. He’s in temporary witness protection as an apple farmer after his undercover work put his life in danger. He needs to lay low until the heat dies down from his last case — even if he sucks at growing apples as badly as he sucks at relationships. But Annamae turns his new town into a media circus, unwittingly threatening the lives of him, her and most of Beulah. Wynn is an expert at keeping the world at arm’s length, but when it comes to Annamae, the only way he can keep her safe is to keep her very, very close.

I really liked this book until the end. It skipped too much and just wasn’t believable.
It was a nice story but just predictable and a little fairytailish.
Quick read. Oka, book but not as entertaining as I would like it to be.
Great read
Very fun quick read.
This is the first book in the Runaway Bride series. It’s a light, interesting read with characters that are believable and a plot that contains a little bit of suspense.
Adorable
Loved it! Quick read.
Enjoyable but too steamy for me.
Loved it!!!
Very little character development. Had the making of a good crime drama but it was resolved quickly with very little build-up.
Quick Romantic Book – good time but nothing spectacular.
Highly entertaining with a HEA.
This was a good , light read enough to entertain but nothing awesome that would make me like to read it again.
A lovely mix of funny and romantic with a touch of suspense and drama. Lovely read on a rainy day.
I really enjoyed this book. It had me laughing and almost crying.
Very easy to get into the book, very hard to put down.
Annamae Jessup’s family had a reality television series where the cameras followed them everywhere. Annamae was engaged to a well-known baseball player and she accidentally broke-up with him on a radio talk show. She immediately took off to a small town to meet her grandmother and to find out who she really was. That would be the mother of her father who she had never met – neither her father or grandmother. While looking for a place to live she met Wynn, an apple farmer. Wynn is in witness protection and keeping a low profile so when Annamae showed up he didn’t want her there. The last thing he wanted was the attention that a reality TV star would bring. After all, he’s in witness protection for a reason, which is that he doesn’t want the drug cartel he’s going to be testifying against to find him before the trial.
Wynn realizes it’s safer to have Annamae stay with him than to send her away so that his enemies can’t find or harm her. The more time they spend together the more they are attracted to each other.
I loved this book and didn’t want to stop reading. The writing was excellent making the story easy to follow. The sex scenes were so well written that I actually squirmed during them.
I loved the characters. Both Annamae and Wynn had difficulties in their lives but were strong enough to overcome them. Being together was dangerous for them but they were better together.
I LOVE THIS BOOK!!! It is so well written. It is like I am watching a reality show on tv. Well the story is set on a reality tv show BUT the bride really does not want to be on the show her mom and stepdad insist and have her marrying the golden baseball player. Annamae is getting cold feet and she calls into a talk show not realizing folks would recognize her voice about not being sure about the wedding and so the wedding is off.
She hops in her car and she takes off only stopping long enough to rescue a dog.
She heads to find out about her life that from her *dad’s* side of the family that her mom has kept hidden from her.
Well then she meets Heath Lambert when she asks to rent his cottage, He has no idea she is a reality star (escaped) and he happens to be a cop who is laying low in a safe house.
Sparks and bullets fly in this book LOVE IT!!!
