Sparks fly between a grumpy single father and a compassionate lawyer in “a sweet, homespun romance that tugs at the heartstrings in all the right ways” (Entertainment Weekly) — perfect for fans of New York Times bestselling authors Jill Shalvis and Lori Foster and USA Today bestselling author Jamie Beck. Gabby Langdon has always tried to make people happy. She even went to law school to please … happy. She even went to law school to please her father, and now she’s a highly successful-albeit bored-attorney. But Gabby secretly dreams of being a writer, so for once she does something for herself-she signs up for a writing class taught by best-selling novelist Caden Marshall. There’s only one problem: her brooding, sexy professor is a distraction she can’t afford if she’s finally going to get the life she truly wants.
Recently divorced and suffering from the world’s worst case of writer’s block, Caden is in Angel Falls to get his life back on track. He’s focused on teaching and providing a stable and loving home for his young daughter, Ava. The last thing he needs is to jeopardize his new job, which means keeping plenty of distance between himself and his talented new student-no matter how tempted he is by Gabby’s beauty, kind heart, or the sparks that fly whenever they’re together.
Includes the bonus novella Meant to Be by Alison Bliss!

I liked the premise of this story. The whole villainized best-selling author turned professor and the aspiring writer, student & lawyer.
I adored how protective and attentive Cade was with his daughter Ava. Him watching YouTube videos to learn how to braid her hair was one of my favorite things. I don’t always love children in books because they tend to either overshadow the rest of the story or fade off into the background but the author did an excellent job of including Ava just the right amount.
The story moved slowly at first and then picked up and I couldn’t put it down. I really like that there wasn’t a lot of drama or back and forth between Cade and Gabby. They handled their baggage and fears in a mature and realistic manner. I do wish that the relationship between Cade and Gabby once they had officially gotten together was explored a little more but since there was so much time spent on the build-up to their relationship I don’t feel like it took anything away from the story. Overall this was a sweet, heart-warming story that I would definitely read again.
I do have to admit that, while I loved Gabby and Cade, I found myself quite distracted by the foreshadowing of Rafe and Katilyn’s romance. With the addition of the first chapter in their upcoming book at the end of this one, I cannot even begin to explain how excited I am for All I Want for Christmas in September!
I love this series. I’ve been anticipating Gabby and her brother Rafe’s book but, back to Gabby. Gabby is going through inner battles about her life. She isn’t satisfied with her life at the moment, and always wanted to be a writer. So, she takes a class on writing, and none other than Caden this famous author is the teacher. They have chemistry from the first time they meet in the parking lot of the college. Cade is going through a rough time, trying to get his life together after a terrible divorce from his ex. She really put him through the ringer.
This story was good. I enjoyed it very much. I loved the story of the fountain and how it intertwines all the couples together. Wonderful story, I can’t wait for Rafe’s story.
This is the second sweet story from the new Angel Falls series. It is another glimpse into the small town life of the homey Angel Falls and Ms. Liasson’s continuation of showing us the lives and loves of this friendly and connected little town.
This is Caden and Gabby’s story. It is a “forbidden” ,for lack of a better term, relationship since Caden is technically the writing instructor for Gabby’s new potential career. But you also have the single dad thing going on and that adds just another element in to the mix. Caden doesn’t want or need the added complication but can’t seem to help himself. Gabby has goals to reach and certainly isn’t looking to find a Mr. Right Now…
Sweet love story without too much angst or drama, just every day normal issues in a small town with family and friends and expectations. I enjoy these stories because they are so easy to relate to, unlike some other books in this genre.
This was such a charming story filled with wonderful characters. It was cute and fun and it filled me up and left me with a big smile on my face!
Favorite Quotes:
“I haven’t been out in the sun much this summer, Nonna. But now that I’m partner, I’ll get some color.” She was lying through her teeth. She might never see the light of day again.
“When you’re eighty-nine years old,” Nonna said, “you can have all the donuts you want.” “Aren’t you, like, only eighty, Nonna?” Rafe asked. “I don’t know, but I’m old enough to have another donut if I want one.” … Nonna licked some cream off her thumb. “Don’t ever let anyone tell you not to eat donuts,”
As he leaned toward her, she couldn’t help noticing that he smelled delicious, like some spicy man soap that made her want to sneak into his bathroom and inhale the bar.
Cade gave his dad a look. The water under their combined bridges could drown someone.
My Review:
I am grooving on this Angel Falls series, The Way You Love Me was another delightfully satisfying and disarming read that would be easy to follow regardless of whether the first book was read or not, although I can highly recommend and enjoyed reading Then There Was You as well. I am always struck by the agile and insightful quality of Ms. Liasson’s writing. Her storytelling is so smooth, lushly described, and easy to follow that it rolls seamlessly with keen visuals through my gray matter. She deftly tucks in clever levity, thoughtful details, and other extra special touches that elevate the caliber from good to exceptional while providing additional texture and vibrancy to her characters as well as a highly pleasurable reading experience. And I adored these enticing characters as much as I did their engaging storylines. I particularly enjoyed the creativity of the full grovel experience and the amusing unpredictability of the elderly Nonna.
I love Miranda Liasson’s Angel Fall’s series and love this book so much!!!!
This is a fantastic small town romance that I absolutely adored. Gabby and Caden are great characters and they fit perfectly together. Gabby is a people pleaser, always following the path others have laid out for her. She does have a secret passion and that’s writing. She would love to lose the day job and write full time but the best she can do is a creative writing class at the local college. That’s where she meets Caden Marshall. He’s a well known published author with a severe case of writer’s block. Teaching is the next best thing. Problem is being attracted to one of your students could get him in all kinds of hot water. The pull between them is strong though. Can they wait until she’s no longer his student? What will happen then?
Great read with some amazing writing and characters. Put this on the must read list, I highly recommend it.
This was my first book by Miranda Liasson. I’m ready for the next! I really, really liked this book. The main characters got off to a rocky start–over a parking spot. After the incident, the both discover that Caden is Gabby’s professor for the writing class she signed up for. That’s not awkward at all!
Caden’s past marriage left him with absolutely no desire to get involved with anyone ever again. However, Gabby is pretty darn cute! She’s attracted to him, but he seems determined to make her life miserable in class.Even if they get past all that, there’s still the problem of him being her professor. They have other issues to overcome, too. Will it ever work out?
I loved Liasson’s characters. They were strong, but also had their vulnerabilities and quirks. Some of the secondary characters were absolutely delightful Caden’s little girl was so precious and the grandmother was a total hoot!
I missed the first in the series, but I’ll be going back to pick it up.
I was given a copy of this book from Netgalley. All thoughts are my own.
What a sweet love story. I loved how Gabby has this sweet spirit, she is a strong character who has a big heart and she really seemed so relatable. I really enjoy how it was important to find herself and her mom’s legacy. I was not a huge fan of Caden, sometimes you like him sometimes you don’t. I get he had some hard times but in my opinion he just seemed like he couldn’t get his stuff together. I really loved Ava, her sweet personality just jumped off the pages and it was hard not to just fall in love with her. Overall I really enjoyed this sweet love story. There is some sex scenes in this book, so it may not be suitable for all readers. I honestly have enjoyed reading this series and can not wait to read Rafe and Kaitlyn story. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion.
Cheers to all the dreamers, who aren’t afraid to dream. This story goes out to you. The Way You Love Me is a reminder that It’s okay to follow your heart. Even when the odds are stacked against you. Gabby and Caden have spent a great deal of their lives living for others. When fate brings them face to face, will their level heads steer them toward a broken heart? Liasson continues to lead with her heart and turn reading into an emotionally fulfilling experience.
The Way You Love Me by Miranda Liasson

Cade and Gabby’s story was a pretty sweet read! Cade…He was a little broody, smart, and protective, but when his little girl Ava was around? Oy, he could turn a girl into a puddle of goo with his parenting skills! And Gabby was a nice contrast to the his broodiness with her sunshine and rainbows outlook, even when she was being serious.
I enjoyed Gabby and Cade’s push/pull relationship. They both had some growing to do independently before moving forward with one another and I liked how it was reflected when eye opening moments clicked the light bulb on upstairs and awareness settled in. I also liked how Liasson included family dynamics into the mix, showing how the tendrils of one relationship could spill over and effect others in many different ways.
Book two in the Angel Falls series was a delightful read! Small town charm and a cute romance made time fly by! There’s a variety of characters to track, but not so many you’d get lost. Gabby’s vivacious Nonna was my personal favorite because she was a real firecracker of fun and her having no filter?! Imagine, embarrassing moments, thoughtful advice, and loving support. However, the main focus of the story was always about Gabby and Cade. The struggles to move forward, discover themselves, and learning to overcome perceived personal failures gave their romance a mature edge I enjoyed.

I liked Brett. He was honorable, diligent, and knew he had to straighten himself out when Sidney left him. Sidney was a bit aloof and harder to like. I understood her struggles with body issues, but her mixed signals to Brett were frustrating. Brett and Sidney both hedged on seriously communicating their worries to the Nth degree when they could have been busy making up! Although the make up session did get hot and heavy for a brief moment 😉
Sidney and Brett’s story was a decently cute second chance romance. I felt Brett was pretty dimensional, but Sidney needed just a wee bit more tweaking to put them on a level laying field.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Gabby is a people pleaser who finds herself struggling to find her own happiness. She decides to take a writing course to see if it’s her real passion. Along her journey to seek happiness she learns about vulnerability, dependability and love.
I really enjoyed this sweet and sexy story about Cade and Gabbys journey to happiness. After a bit of a rocky start I found I fell in love with both Gabby and Cade and couldn’t put the book down because I was invested in these characters. This was a true story about second chances.
I cant wait for Kaitlyn and Rafe’s story next!
I received a copy of The Way You Love Me from Netgalley and this is my honest opinion
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.
This is the second book in the Angel Falls series and it centers around Gabby Langdon and Caden Marshall. Gabby is a bit of a lost soul, she flitted from one major to another until she settled on becoming a lawyer to please her father. She was engaged to a successful, but narcissistic guy, because she thought that was the type of man she should marry. Now, she is thirty, single and in a job that doesn’t make her happy. She has always wanted to write, so she decides to take a creative writing course taught by famous author, Caden Marshall. Cade is a bit of a mess. While he had a successful debut novel, he has all sorts of issues contributing to his writer’s block. Both Gabby and Cade are likable, yet flawed characters and the pacing of the love story is realistic. I loved that Gabby and Cade had to work through their issues to get to their happily ever after. This book also has a nice set up for Rafe and Kaitlyn’s story.
Another great Angel Falls book. ‘The Way You Love Me’ is a wonderful story about Gabby, an attorney, and Cade, a troubled author/single dad, and their struggles to fight their feelings for each other. Miranda creates a story that draws you in and keeps you turning the pages until you reach the end and discover what happens with the main couple and their happy ending.
We are back in Angel Falls and once again, this talented author gives us a story that will touch your hearts.
Gabby Langdon is a lawyer who has always done things to make others happy, sometimes at her own expense. She is a lawyer but truly wants to be a writer and signs up for a writing class at the local college.
Cade Marshall is a writer who after writing his one and only book, is suffering from writer’s block. While the book brought him to the heights of success , it quickly brought him down .
He’s back in his hometown with his 3 year old daughter for a new start and hoping for inspiration.
These two meet by chance and from the first moment , the attraction is there. But obstacles are also in their lives.
The plot is engaging and the imperfect characters, complex and endearing. The book is at times heartbreaking but also heartwarming. A reminder that family, with all it’s imperfections, is important to have in our lives.
Hope, new beginnings and love can be within reach if we give them a chance.
Can’t wait to see what else Ms. Liasson has in store for us.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
This author never fails to deliver a heart-warming, feel-good romance. Mistakes are made along the way by this couple, but there is no overly dramatic angst – just real people solving real relationship issues. Another excellent read – and I love the cover art!
Note: I did receive an ARC of this book, but my review is totally voluntary and a pleasure to share with others in hopes they discover a great author!

steals your heart from the very first pages

A MUST READ FOR EVERYONE!!!
I very much liked the characters and thought the quality of writing was good BUT the descriptive quality was over the top, I couldn’t read one more word as the 2 main characters lusted after each other, their smoking hot bodies…… I got it, stop repeating it. Miranda, you can do better, I closed and deleted the book before I read a third of the story. Yikes. I couldn’t take it, if you love steamy stories and sexy body descriptions that go on and on; then this is the story for you.
Loved it!
Charming characters, welcoming small town environment, and heartfelt words… The Way You Love Me has it all! I thoroughly enjoyed my second visit to the Angel Falls series, within a matter of minutes it felt as if I had never left, the characters opened their homes and lives to me, and made me feel like I belonged there all along. This was another enjoyable installment in the series, the love of writing brought Cade and Gaby together, and united them in way neither saw coming. But both of them embraced it beautifully, it was so fun watching them fall in love. If you like small town romance stories then I highly suggest you make a visit to Angel Falls, what you find waiting there for you is sure to leave your heart happy!
