This book had a good ending but unless you are interested in surfing don’t bother. Too much surfing information for me. Very slow developing
Good story line. Easy reading. Would recommend.
Couldn’t put it down. Did not see ending coming!
clever, refreshing plot
Kept you wondering who did it!
A lot of information about surfing, but a little hard for me to keep straight. Did make me keep guessing what was going to happen.
Turned out to be a really good book!! Right up to the last page!! Great read!
Didn’t see it until the end
It was an odd book. Ending was a bit unexpected but not satisfying
Loved this book until the ending. Wish it had a different ending.
It kept me interested, although at times it was a bit draggy. If the author had not used that really bad cuss word in all its permutations, it would have been better. I agree that the shock ending made me feel like I was a bit cheated. Maybe this is an aberration of British fiction. I did have a bit of a problem following some of the slang and terms used because of the British influence, but context helped a lot to figure out what was meant. Very good going for a first book. Maybe a little less cussing and a little more thought into whether or not he wants to pull the rug out from under his reader will make a better book for No. 2.
I really liked this book. It kept me interested until the very end!
This book has that thing I love – I cared about the people. People who only exist between pages. It is a wonderful journey into the minds of young men growing up in a small English seaside village and what can happen when one in particular doesn’t get what he wants. You won’t see it coming.
The best book, with a great twist at the end. Loved it! Reading his second book now.
The story was ok until the HORRIBLE ending. I felt cheated. It was like a sad excuse to end a TV series. Everything you’ve seen so far was a lie and a waste of time. It was a dream. Wish I would have known before and I wouldn’t have bothered reading the book.
The story has a twist at the end but the switches in time frames were a bit confusing.
Just OK. Wouldn’t recommend
